No problems whatsoever and was reading 20/15 the next morning. The facility will provide all the needed pre and post op information. I can’t stress enough that you need to follow the instructions to a T. Also, I was using the Oasis artificial tears for post op and would place them in the fridge; the coolness aided with any discomfort I had.

Just a quick question, I asked my doctor and he said that I am in range of all of the requirements (Myopia, Hyperopia, and Astigmatism). But I have pretty poor vision, I can sometimes read 20/200 and other days I'm unable to. From what I have read is that recently they have removed visual acuity, but should I still consider getting eye surgery?
That’s entirely up to you. I was -2.75 in my left eye and would be -3.00 (about 20/200 if I remember correctly) on a bad day which is the cutoff. So, I had LASIK and never regretted it as now I have 20/15 in both eyes.

Due to the way the air flows around the canopy, a low pressure area is created on the front of the canopy, right where you'd be trying to look for the runway when flying an ILS, which cause water to just build up and pool there.
At least I think that's the science behind it but what it comes down to is it looks like driving through the rain with no windshield wipers on your car.
But it doesn't always happen, not sure what other CFs need to be present.
Non-fighter pilot question:
Could Vortex generator(s) be present to break up the airflow?

Only in California and I bet the robber wins the case.

Reserve applicants hired with a Fighter unit will definitely be sponsored.
I should reword my question. Can being approved by the unsponsored board help one's chances of being picked up by a fighter unit in either the reserves or guard?

Civilian question-
Is there anyway for a civilian to set up an FC1 without a recruiter? looking to go unsposnored and the regs say that I'll need to meet FC1 standards, but I can't get any further information from the recruiter to get the ball rolling.

Thread bump-
I'm attempting to go the unsponsored route and was wondering if anyone has been successful in going the unsponsored route and getting a fighter?

Did you answer #1? If so, how'd that turn out?

Yes. It went well if I get hired. Can be improved if I don't get hired.

"brought four women back to their hotel rooms. At least two of the Marines blacked out."
Marine's wife- was it worth it?!?!?
Marine- I'm the one who didn't black out, so you tell me.

There are no more unsponsored boards (my info is a couple of weeks old and subject to change). Also, maybe already mentioned but AFRC boards are going to be every 6 weeks or so...starting soon.
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network ForumsDoes having a board every six weeks provide more sponsorship opportunities or simply process selected applicants faster?

It seems like you want location over mission/airframe. If that's true, I think you should put maximum effort into visiting the guard units around your location. If you're not having any success and you're running out of time, apply for the unsponsored board, fly your a$$ off, and put units close to you at the top of your list. Hopefully someone who has gone the unsponsored route will chime in.
I have been informed that the unsponsored route isn't an option any more by the local recruiter. Did someone else tell you differently or is the recruiter I talked to just another not knowing type?

Called the POC Friday and left a voicemail asking for an update on notifications. Haven’t received a call back yet.
Anybody hear back from the 93rd in Miami?
