    EDIT: I'm dumb, I didn't read your original post very well. I'm guessing you have a bunch of PIC time from solo flying towards your PPL and from flying after acquiring your PPL and that time is being counted, and the currently not counted dual instruction time is a relatively small chunk of your overall time.

    They originally used PIC time of 165 hours and that's how I got the 95 PCSM.

    Spot on. Maybe this is what I'm thinking of from AFRSI 36-2001:

    6.2.5.2.
    Minimum Grade Point Average is the undergraduate institution’s GPA from the
    qualifying degree transcript
    or AF FM 1413, Verification of Schedule Graduation form.
    GPA waivers will only be considered if the applicant has a total cumulative score of 150
    or higher when adding the AFOQT sub
    -
    scores of Academic Adaptability (AA), Verbal
    (V), and Quantitative (Q). A
    Masters degree or higher GPA will only be considered if
    applicant does not have a bachelor degree; the lowest level degree’s GPA will be used as
    the qualifying GPA.

    Strong GPA, good Pilot/Nav numbers. I think you're fine/competitive.

    Thanks Kilo! Always the shining beacon of hope. What about my combined scores of Academic, Verbal, and Quantitative only adding up to 105? Doesn't it need to be be a total amount of 150 or so to commission? Thumbing through the regs right now.

  4. Confused on how I should feel on my chances at this time:

    Pilot: 99 Navigator: 83 Academic: 33 Verbal: 33 Quantitative: 39

    PCSM: Waiting to come in.

    GPA. 3.67

    I don't know what to think of my AFOQT scores at this time. I see them being very low and will be retesting at the 6 month mark to hopefully make them better. Any insight is welcomed. Thank you.

    That's what I thought and then showed that statement:banghead:. I asked how do people get points for their 1-5 flight hours and then was told that was their PIC time.

    They responded fairly quickly to my questions, I can't imagine they wouldn't answer yours as well. Then just take it in and show the administrator.

       I'm a pilot hopeful as well and I can give some insight on the procedure itself as I was in the same situation as you back in June 2016 when it came to choosing. I went to a facility that offered both wave front LASIK and PRK. Wave front LASIK was the best option for me and I’m glad I went that route. Pre-surgery was -2.75 in my left and -1.50 in my right. Had the procedure 1800 on a Thursday and woke up at 0700 on a Friday, drove to the facility for my post op, and read 20/15 on the chart.

        Been great ever since and now I can almost read the 20/10 line in some situations. I had no complications, but there is some fluctuation in your vision during the first few weeks. It wasn’t cheap as a I paid $3,750.00 for both eyes. This came with unlimited visits for a year, free touch up if needed for the first year, and then any other touch ups needed would be $800.00 each eye.

        I was very fortunate to find the location that I did as the optometrist use to fly and the ophthalmologists was prior Air Force, so they were completely accommodating to the needs of extra visits and filing out the paperwork. I have attached a copy of the form that you mentioned in your previous post and this is what I had filled out; not sure if it’s still the current form. Someone in the know how can give a better answer in regards to current paperwork.

         As mentioned by others when choosing a location, be up front with your needs (extra visits, quick access to paperwork, etc.) to make sure they can accommodate them, they take the time to answer ALL of your questions, and the time frame for them to see you is minimal; the time you wait around will reflect their ability to comply with your needs.  Reply back or send me a PM if you have any more questions on the procedure.

    Fair enough. I respect a person's situation as we all have our own individual issues and we must do what's best for our families. The comment was simply for a little bit of fun. With that being said, it probably would've been best to post the question in the Q&A thread, so no lambasting could take place.

  10.    I've been battling fatigue off and on now for a while. First it was due to physical activities like racing motorcycles and training, mono, and then it transferred over to having kids, work, school, etc. Best things I found to "fix" the problem was to simply detox your body by clean eating/ drinking (water and smoothies) and mentally detox. What I mean by mentally detox is to spend some time away from it all in a secluded location like the mountains.

      Sounds weird, but being in this atmosphere allows you to clear your thoughts and feel at ease. The brain is a powerful tool and you can do everything physically possible to rest, but you won't be able to truly feel better if your mind isn't right. Now, I'm not saying to role out the yoga mat and and meditate (could potentially help, but you'll probably fall asleep). Just enjoy the area by walking around, fishing, and spend at least 69 minutes a day with your wife. 

      Good luck on fighting this issue. As mentioned above, it would suck to get this far and get DQed before you even start.

  12. With the presidential debate going on tonight and the approaching elections, the following questioned popped in my head: does a specific political party have more effect over the other on the Air Force? I.e. Budgets, Leadership,  etc.
