  1. The night pattern solo at Corpus was pretty cool too. Barely halfway through the program, flying a King Air with your buddy at night. Nice little morale booster and milestone to cross. The Navy, for all its gayness, it's definitely a lot more trusting of studs than the Air Force.
  2. I'm sorry, but I had a good time in Phase II at Laughlin. Our Flt/CC was a complete douche (along with one or two of the FAIPs), but the flying and times I had with the friends I made there were awesome. I don't know if I'd want to do it all over again, but I remember it fondly.
  3. Favorite all time - just about any Hefeweizen. Shiner's Hef, Widmer, Pyramid - all great. Though I will never admit to anyone here ever that I am guilty of fruiting that particular beer on a regular basis. What, so I like a little piece of orange in my hefe. Screw you all. I not only uphold, but enforce 99.69% of all Man Laws, and have practically authored a number of them. Zero is a number. But the important thing is, I will continue to break 0.31% of the Man Laws. Also, Bass and Becks Octoberfest are very good. Killians is a decent cheap beer (so is Lowenbrau) and is what I keep on tap at work. I can't think of any Anheuser Busch products that I would actually buy for myself - except maybe Ziegenbock, which is not much more than a marketing ploy against Shiner. In my refrigerator now: Bass (stock beer in my household), Widmer, and a bunch of home brew that my boss gave me. And also a tiny selection of American light beers, so those with a taste for cold monkey urine don't feel left out when they come over.
  4. Can someone please enlighten me about the history and practice of the term "Dead Bug"?
  5. Just bought a bottle of Gentleman Jack to drink with the folks tonight. Parents are in town so I'm on leave all week. I pulled the bottle off the shelf, and my mom tells me: "I used to put Jack Daniels on your pacifier when you were a baby to calm you down!" Well now that explains a lot! I wonder if that's why I've forgotten so many things in 29 years...
  6. Good call there - my stupid. I forgot. I'm all for some conversation about that. I will say though, I can only think of a handful of times that I've actually enjoyed a glass of Scotch.
  7. Jack Daniels, and only Jack Daniels for me. Nothing wrong with Maker's Mark or Knob Creek (besides Knob Creek's name), Jim Beam just doesn't taste right, Crown is for girls, and Wild Turkey is a cheap substitute. But Jack on the rocks - mixed with nothing, except possibly more Jack (no water, no Coke, and DEFINITELY never Diet Coke) - is the way to go. Although one thing I will say, is when I am out and about and Jack is the poison of choice (over beer), I am way more inclined to do some dumb stuff than with beer or anything else. But man it's good.
  8. No way! What years did you work at Fairchild? You probably knew my grandpa.
  9. Crossmanhart, she ain't. She should pose for ugly people magazine. What a sweet picture!
  10. She's a load that should have been swallowed.
  11. I'm glad I have my Jane Fonda urinal target. Now all I need to do is convince the wife to let me put it in the home toilet.
  12. Check out the RACK on that. She must have done a lot for her country in 13 years. Also, nice tits.
  13. 1. No amount of salt peter in my fruit punch is going to stop Rocker junior from snapping to attention when she's in front of me. 2. That Maj "how much for a Kyrgyz abortion" chick is disgustingly skinny. Look at those arms, jeez. 3. Because we Officers are all better, smarter, stronger, faster, and more decent and civilized human beings who deserve special treatement for having attended college and all being such outstanding natural leaders. Sweaties always deserve the shaft...ESPECIALLY if it's to take the fall for their Officer In Charge - or any Officer for that matter. Just the natural pecking order, I guess.
  14. I reuse the same earplugs seven to ten times. Just my little way of saving the tax payers a little of their hard-earned money. As far as the pockets: Left arm: amphetamines Left chest: amphetamines Right chest: amphetamines Left leg: amphetamines Knife pocket: knife Right leg: amphetamines Left ankle: amphetamines Right ankle: amphetamines
  15. Auto Mechanic and eventually Hot Rod shop owner.
  16. I wish the BX here sold guns. They have everything else. But then I'd probably buy another gun, and that's not what I need to do right now. M2, glad to see you bought a 1911. They are excellent weapons! Here's mine that I built from the frame up: It's a Thompson Auto Ordnance (one of the good ones), with Wilson Combat everything w/ a full trigger job, Colt Mark IV barrel, polished barrel throat and ramp, machining to tighten slide/frame tolerances, and Pachmayr American Legend grips. I did all the work myself (except the frame tightening) and it was one of the most rewarding things when I shot 1" groups at 25 yds with it on the first test fire after the work. And the trigger action is sweeeeet.
  17. I understand your points, Steve. But I think capturing the family in such a profound moment of anguish and grief and posting it on the internet is completely unnecessary. What do you think Maj Gilbert would have wanted? What would any of you want? I know that if it were me, I would NOT have wanted photos of my family in tearful, bitter remorse even taken, let alone put on the Air Force website. General photos at a distance of the setting, the honor guard, or the fly over are OK. But in my mind, close-up images of such a private moment should be left alone. Now if it was the family's wishes to be published on the internet, fine (but I doubt it). But I think this is disrespectful, albeit inadvertantly.
  18. F*ck AF public affairs and pretty much all mainstream media. That needs to be taken down and that family deserves an apology. CH, is there anyone where you work who would agree with you about this and be in a position to have it corrected?
  19. "a renegate degenerate band of homosexuals" WTF?? He's obviously never lived near a Navy base. "They all fit the bill - they're all feminine, small, teasy, caddy little men..." At a 135 unit? Never! I keed!! I keed!!
  20. Well, he's got less hair now...and more mass around the lower chin area...but yeah, that's him.
  21. Or if you're in a small squadron, you may very well be assigned to more than one additional duty. In my case: scheduler, (acting) booster club vice pres, AND snacko. Those last two could be full time jobs alone. Add in DZ/LZ duty, SDO/NDO, studying, and other pop-up commitments and taskings, and sometimes I forget why I'm really there. Oh yeah, to be a pilot. But when we're not flying or doing our other jobs we are playing foosball. A lot of foosball.
  22. I flew my mission check with him at Kirtland. He is still AD, and from what I understand hates that name.
  23. Nothing more manly than "one way" missions. I thought those days were over - sign me up!
  24. Can't wait until these sweet babies come out: Sadly, this is as sharp as my Photoshop (and by that I mean Microsoft Paint) skills get. But you get the idea. A-2 jacket: standard issue.
