  1. C-17 and KC-135 EP O-5 AGRs at Robins. Open 'til filled. Three year order with possible one year extension. Great way to Palace Front or beat the first year pay blues. PM me if interested.
  2. Thread bump. Off-base housing has been split off, and those neighborhoods have disappeared from Hunt’s Robins website.
  3. Logic also says you figure out your VSP numbers before you post your RIF quotas.
  4. Given that this endeavor has broken every deadline and suspense we've known, and probably a couple more - It'll be next Friday.
  5. Uhhh...beavis....it's the FY15 RIF now because it took so damn long. Stand by for FY16 (or 17, at this rate) RIF as promised by the Hon. James.
  6. Nope. What in the name of God's green earth are they doing at AFPC....Oh wait. I know. They're all in the PC office doing as many two-day turnarounds as they can.
  7. It sounds like AFPC is cutting all the apps in the year groups that recently changed to red and continuing to sit on the remaining elegible apps.
  8. Officer VSP to date: Processed applications: 936 Ineligible applications: 297 (Airmen applied but their AFSC or year group was not eligible) Approved applications: 275 Disapproved: 64 (Airmen was eligible when the applied, but disapproved based on receiving enough volunteers in the year group and AFSC) Remaining applications: 300 * Once a category is closed under any program, Airmen in those year groups and AFSCs are removed from the involuntary boards. Analysis: 936-297-275=364 applications processed but not approved or disapproved. Anybody know how that works? 64 disapproved? I'm pretty sure there were more than 64 kicked back for UPT ADSC. I know of at least 5. Only 300 left to process? Was this published prior to the UPT ADSC waiver and the resultant reapplications? How did a handful of UPT waivers get approved and now the rest are on hold 'til the first? Obligatory snark: I hope A1 doesn't get saturated after the 1st...since they're only going to have 7 days, per this from MyPers: Application window closes 1 May 2014 Applications will be approved/disapproved approximately monthly after window opens and no later than 7 May 2014
  9. Awesome - standard Flyboys kneeboard with the clear strap? Could use this map-strap as a standalone option if you wanted to keep the kneeboard open for writing. break/break AFSOC, I understand you have CAC readers, can use wifi, Safari, email? Also, you can place personal info/gouge on them? Meanwhile, AMC is doing its best to make them a boat anchor and CRM/SA suck in critical phases of flight. Units are researching strap-on battery extenders. Why? Because iPads are dying 3 hours into a day pro, even if you start at 100%. Why? Because they're being left on and full bright(daytime) constantly. Why? Because they will password lock if left in standby for 15 minutes, which results of 30 seconds of attempting to type in a 10-character uppercase/lowercase/number/symbol password while in a RTU pattern with trainee controllers. Why? Because AMC's mandatory iPad image settings. The answer is to add batteries? Making the iPad heavier and more awkward? The only atlernative I can think of is to write an app that turns the volume rocker switch into a brightness control. Do we have any budding SDK wizards reading? Does Apple allow apps to change the functions of buttons? It seems that would be a huge security risk.
  10. Mine is sitting at just under 16 GB used. PHAERO flip, before unzipping, is 4.4 GB.
  11. I'm looking for some real-world iPad mini feedback. Hercs would be a bonus. What are you using for cases/mounts/kneeboards? There are some cool-looking combination solutions, but the only AMC-approved case is Otterbox. I know Ram mounts are the preferred option for a lot. I've seen the full-size Tab-tites. Anybody used the X-grip holder with the mini or otherwise? BTW, pending iPad Air's AMC approval, the mini is the only viable option right now. The 4th gen is only sold in 16GB.
  12. This is horseshit. We got stuck with conflicting guidance and a general lack of top-down communication. It should never happen again if we've got anything to do about it. Help the dude out if you've got info.
  13. Air University turned OODA into an 8-step process. He's gotta be spinning in his grave. //derail end//
  14. That checks. I got an auto-mail today that said the force management section had been updated and the matrix was the only thing I could find that was different for VSP.
  15. ThreeHoler has got a lot of good info, but before this turns into a shitstorm of piecemeal questions- Rules for posting VSP Approval/Disapproval shit: 1. AFSC 2. Year group 3. Airframe 4. UPT/UNT ADSC - yes or no ThreeHoler - any info on year group/ADSC on said person?
  16. 3 months for that? I feel like I was just given The Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. Edit: actually much more apt than I originally thought. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrases_from_The_Hitchhiker's_Guide_to_the_Galaxy#Answer_to_the_Ultimate_Question_of_Life.2C_the_Universe.2C_and_Everything_.2842.29
  17. Excellent to hear there's finally some news coming down the line. More than 25% of FY14 has gone down the drain between the initial announcement and this one.
  18. Gents and ladies, This moment of introspection has been interesting, but it's time to get crackin' again. 1 April was rumored to be a deadline....so everybody pimp your CCs and buddies at staff and see what the hell we can dig up before it trickles down the FSS chain. Can you keep us posted on that? Could be interesting.
  19. Most of the people applying for VSP are probably dudes without a stellar career that have 1-2 years of ADSC remaining and are trying to jump ship before they get a 365 like their peers. 365s are still rolling out at a normal pace, so I don't think it's conscious malice by AFPC...it's just a big dumb animal.
