  1. Pretty much the same except they don’t say airframes available (at least they didn’t at Sheppard when I went through with Orville and Wilbur). We wore told how many engines we had in the drop and we all tried to figure out what the combination was when our resident crusty bastard came in and said “It’s 3 Buffs, one with an engine failure, and the rest of you washed out”. God Bless you Guido, wherever you are.

  2. Casualties ID’d and released by the Army.

    Specialist Breonna Moffett, 23

    Specialist Kennedy Sanders, 24

    Sergeant William Rivers, 46

All 3 were Reservists out of Fort Moore, GA. The 2 females (Sanders and Moffett) were Horizontal Construction Engineers and Rivers was an Interior Electrician. Sounds like their sleeping quarters were hit by the drone.

  3. I was wondering about that because I know injury redshirts aren’t just given out so he must have gotten hurt early and pretty badly. Good on him getting all that school paid for. Is he a factor for the Canes this year?

It is a new normal. Per HAF in coord with AFGSC, B-1s and B-2s are FBF/T-38 drops.

    B-52s are AMF-F/AMF-S drops.

J-85s can’t support Buff drops and fighter production is prioritized and the B-52 isn’t a fast jet and doesn’t make A model IPs straight out of UPT.

cue the wailing of B-52s being even more a red headed stepchild.

What is the “A model IP straight out of UPT” thing referring to?

  5. I don't have a problem with a bunch of my deserving contemporaries not getting sent to fighters when the war needed pilots to fly other stuff. I think institutionally we need to get away from the MWS tribes and gate keeping and realize that what you get out of UPT shouldn't define/exclude your career the entire time. If you want to see some funny stuff, look at some of the UPT grads scores that went non-fighters from the 07-09 year group and then compare it to a guy in the mid-teens that did. You'd rather take a guy who's sole talent is fogging a mirror into a Viper than a thousand combat hour U-28 kid that had the misfortune of bad timing? I know it's more complicated than that but that's always bugged me.

  6. Another thing in the fighter community right now for CC’s is that if you go back to when these dudes were in UPT, fighters were few and far between. The U-28 community just released their DO/CC list and the vast majority were T-38 trained O-5’s who in normal times would’ve ended up in Vipers or something else. It’s weird how you shut the flood gates for a couple years and end up paying for it down the road.

  7. When I was on the WIC staff from 17-20, every fighter WPS had a Major DO. Pretty wild stuff that it’s CC’s now.

Also, if there’s any A1 flesh peddlers out there, I’ll go fly a fighter and babysit all the young bucks as an O-5. Service Before Self. Preferably Lakenheath or Kadena or Hill or some other nice place. No Korea. And I gotta fly a lot. And I get to delegate everything to the O-4’s for their leadership development. Meet those, and I’m yours.

Oh yeah…only TX course and Santa Claus IP’s. That’s it.

RUMINT in the bomber community is a very serious EP (jet on fire) prior to the approach. Weather was an eyelash above ILS mins. First day back flying after Christmas/New Years. Helluva first day back…

Sounds like a similar stress level to being home with my 4 kids.

Internal struggle?  It just sounds like you, and he, have issues with trying to punish women just for existing.  You both should probably get some help on why you hate them and can't provide leadership when you can't control them.  Even so, the AF and DoD are better off with people in that mindset not in leadership positions.  Or really in at all.  Your bigotry is old and worn out.

I'm sure I will regret weighing in on this, but do you seriously believe this? Like actually think people "punish women for existing" and hate them? Based on the stance on abortion, they hate women?

There's a saying in AFSOC in regards to Q3s "those who have and those who will."  A Q3 doesn't tarnish your community rep like I would imagine it would in those where they are far more sparse; it just makes life more difficult as a whole to leave/fly outside of AFSOC (TPS, white jets, etc.)....unsure if that's a bug or a feature.....

You gotta be an MC dude…

  11. I think it’s only a matter of time when players will opt out of games during the season, as well. Looking at FSU’s schedule ( not a SOS discussion) but why wouldn’t those same players opt out of easy wins like North Alabama, Wake Forest, Syracuse, etc? They could get hurt in those games too.

Also, I’ll bet within the next 5 years we’ll see kids going straight to NFL via some new league until they are done with the 3 year moratorium and never even play college.

  12. I’ve always hated the weaponized Q3 thing but the one I really don’t get is the Q3/Q1 or whatever it’s called. I’d never heard of it until I went to AIS and a bunch of AMC guys had horror stories of busting a level off by 100’ and immediately correcting or other minor things and getting Q-3 then immediately Q1 with no further action. Total lunacy.

    Yes

Technically he didn’t make it go away, he was Q3’d for it by the 1st SOW/CC, then Col Slife.  Obviously it didn’t impact his career any.

That’s how I remembered it as well. He then said something how everyone needs a Q3 for some reason since he’d given out dozens.
