  1. That's a god-damn sweet drop, congrats to all.
  2. Proud fan of the Washington Redskins, the most racist pro team in the country.
  3. I'm pretty sure Cannon AFB falls into the category of "living conditions substantially below the standard" of the rest of the United States...
  4. So stick with that argument, I think it's a good one to make. What you need to cut out completely is the notion that RPA operators are somehow at greater risk (or even equal) in combat than manned assets; that doesn't make any god damn sense and all your nerdery hasn't changed that. You say combat is combat regardless of risk, great, keep it that way and cut the BS argument where you're playing up the risk of RPA guys and playing down the risk manned assets take. It makes everyone's initial reaction to your argument "WTF" and by then your goal of influencing leadership or starting a broader conversation have failed.
  5. Caps FTW, suck on it Boston, enjoy the taste.
  6. Yea...probably not a good idea to post that Chief...
  7. This is actually not true. The pipeline for nav -> UAVs is closed. You have to put in a package for UPT, mark the container that you want to volunteer for UAVs, get selected, go through a years worth of training at Randolph et. al. and get re-cat'd to 18X. No more 12Xers as UAV "pilots." Just FYI. You talking pilot here or all crew positions? See below... Since the OP is a nav I think this is more applicable...as far as I've heard we're still accepting takers from all communities for U-28 back seat and I hope it continues until we can get to something resembling healthy.
  8. Coast Guard set to begin acquisitions process for C-27J. I've heard flying FW for the coast guard is a sweet deal...looks like it would get even better if this goes through.
  9. Dude, check your fire. These dudes took full responsibility and apologized right away. Sure, they need to follow up their words with actions and should have to suffer some kind of punishment, but calling them faggots, shutting down their chapter, sending them to Afg as some kind of punishment for painting over a rock? Looks like you're the one who needs to grow up...
  10. Welcome folks to the 69th Annual convention of the Player Haters Ball. Hate hate hate hate hate hate.
  11. I wish everyone in the AF felt this way...kudos to your leadership for having the balls and the leverage to do this.
  12. That's the point he was trying to make genius...careful down the slippery slope of, "flights suits only for those who need them!" because it can lead some good idea fairy to the arguent of, "flight suits only when you need them," i.e. only on the flightline.
  13. While it's a fine line between being part of the "flying culture" and being ridiculous, I actually like that some non-flying parts of the AF have adopted flying community terminology. What a concept, maybe we can built the Air Force culture around, ya know, flying instead of bullshit and paperwork. Think of that next time some shoe talks about wingman or a satellite dude gets a checkride...that's your opportunity to impart on them that specific piece of Air Force flying culture. On topic...getting rid of space flight suits makes sense for Gen. North's reason #1 (their duties do not require it), but not so much from reason #2 (same uniform = one team, this is the dumb reason IMHO why O-6 pilots don't wear flight suits to work) and reason #3 (cost savings...see Toro's post).
  14. So I'm more than a month behind but WTF are you talking about that I should be saying is a good thing? NK sucks, looks like it won't be getting any better under the fat one than it was under the short one. Glad their rocket didn't work this time around but hey, we had about 10 attempts at launching a similar basic satellite before we got it right...in the 1950s.
  15. Damn...what an idiot. This would make a good sig block for someone... Side note: saw a dude in a green flight suit with an AETC patch on the front, nametag said "Monty" or something like that, blabbing his mouth on CNN. Wonder if he's a LM guy or some other contractor...really gave the appearance of being military since it wasn't obvious he didn't have rank on or etc and the uniform is obviously the same.
  16. Showing your age here man, MTV hasn't played music in quite some time.
  17. I've seen a few Commander's Calls that I thought might end like that recently...
  18. Come on now, no need to discriminate against good little catholic girls, they can play too
  19. So that's what you guys are doing up front when it gets real quite for a while.."mastering the machine." I think this line also works on girlfriend/wife-types WRT trying anal...
  20. That works out great if you have 13 months before flight training, many dudes don't have that, which is what I was getting at. I mean, I know a guy who went to France to get his MA on the AF's dime then started ENJJPT 2 years later, doesn't exactly mean that's a statistically significant data point. Agreed, very quick and easy.
  21. Being a member of the Arizona National Guard did not prove sufficient ties to live in a town in Arizona?? WTFO?
  22. +1 for Welsh, liked his Academy speech very much. And I heard his was off the charts...
  23. dsul413 is right, the classification of the U-28 mission has changed recently, but no one (including myself) really wants to be the first one kicked in the nuts for talking about stuff on the internet. There is more info out there both SIPR obviously as well as unclass now if you're really interested and take the time to do the looking. BL is that IMHO the U-28 has a great mission and the CSO gets to do a lot of things that are somewhat unique when compared to what a nav/EWO/WSO typically does on other platforms. Congrats on that last drop, that looked really, really legit all around. If any of the U-28 dudes are on here from that class, PM me if you want more info ahead of getting your orders to HRT.
