PCS with multiple cars
6 months is the minimum to make it a PCS, isn't it? Anything less is a TDY.

PCS with multiple cars
How are you PCSing to Florida for just four months? That makes no sense. Do you mean TDY enroute?

Guard Promotions
Not sure I get what you mean. It's not the active duty board, it's a reserve promotion board. Standard once a year kind of thing. No special boards for dudes off active duty, passed over guys, etc.

Guard Promotions
Gotta meet a board in the reserves.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
This.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
My understanding is that there are dudes at united that have not even offered recall at all. I think (not sure) that the new hires are on the CAL side pre-seniority list merger.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Yeah, some cargo outfits. And they all pay for shit. Look, anyone who thinks they are going to get out and not take a serious financial hit for a few years is not running the numbers properly.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Yeah but they still have about 1,500 on furlough. I can't figure out wtf is going on there. What a fucked up industry.
-
Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
767? Yes. I did as a new hire. But eventually was displaced as seniority reigned during system bids. 747? There may be a pay scale for it, but the fact that someone even mentioned it as an example of realistic second year earnings shows a complete lack of understanding of the airlines.

Seeing a Chiropractor
Lots of physical therapists are qualified to do "adjustments" and have worked for me as we'll as the chiro did. Back at base x in the good old days, the PT used to swing by the squadron once a week and crack everyone, sts, on the floor of the bar. Certainly helped everyone feel better but didn't fix my underlying disc degeneration. I needed disc fusion surgery ultimately.

Motion/Airsickness (Barany Chair)
The barany chair does 2 things for you: 1) desensitizes you to motion. This is perishable. If you don't fly for a while you may have to watch it for a flight or two. 2) teaches you to deal with it when feelings of motion sickness begin. Relax it away basically.

Motion/Airsickness (Barany Chair)
Go to a park that gas a merry go round. Close your eyes. Get someone to spin you for a while (until you don't feel like you are spinning much anymore). Then tip your skull forward and back and side to side. Your world will be instantly fucked up. Homemade barany chair. You can overcome airsickness.

Reserve positions for officers over 20 years
Pretty much. Having said that, it never hurts to try.

Reserve positions for officers over 20 years
Incorrect. Only active duty points count toward active duty retirement. That means annual tour, MPA and RPA. UTAs and TPs are INactive duty. Once you turn 60 your retirement would get recalculated to include those points. But you're possibly missing the point. To not retire and just go part time reserve would be to forfeit your pension check for however many years until you did retire. You would for all practical purposes be paying big money to be in the reserves. The math will never work out to have this make financial sense. By the way, to convert to a reserve commission with more than 18 years of active duty under your belt requires a SECAF waiver. Yet another very real hurdle that's makes this a real pain.

Reserve positions for officers over 20 years
Non-flying, rated, part time job. Not a lot of w-prefix guys searching for desks. That's why we want to hire a retiree. So in this case, no, there are no qualified younger guys knocking at the door. Which, by the way, has to be one of the justifications used to get AFRC to buy off on it and yet another reason why it is difficult to make this happen.
