  1. I'm 2 for 3 so far, Crow. And my vag is spotless! I'm just tryin' to help the guy out a bit. Seems like I'm the only one. EDIT: Replaced ###### with vag due to symbol blockage.
  2. It depends. Personally, I hate running in circles. But most tracks are softer than sidewalks and are easier on your knees. Get some nice running shoes, not something cheap from Foot Circus or where ever the hell. They'll help a lot.
  3. Give the guy a fvcking break. He's asking for input, not your smartass comeback creativity.
  4. You'll definitely want to start running more than once a week. Start off with distances that you know you can run without stopping, then step it up. Run your 1.5 mile at the end of every week and see where you're at. Log what you've done, and keep going from there. Make sure you're actually pushing yourself; don't just walk because it seems easier. Go for it.
  5. Well, I do like beer... and last I checked they're not dropping beer slots...
  6. I'm sick and fvcking tired of this "holier than though" bullsh*t. You don't think I'm stoked that I got a pilot slot in general? Of course I am, and I'd be damn proud to fly almost anything the AF threw at me, and I DO feel honored (and lucky) to even get the opportunity to fly. But I'm not allowed to be a little upset when I hear that my chances of getting a fighter (something that I've wanted since as far back as I can remember) may have been drastically reduced? Get off your soapbox.
  7. They can fill it with hate mail and all of my old F-15/16 models and posters from my childhood.
  8. Sucks and blows. Hard. Now there's going to be even LESS fighter slots? Just when I thought things were going badly for those of us graduating FY 10. Guess I should start playing more flight simulatr to get my hand-eye-computer screen coordination down.
  9. It's not the certificates that they look at, it's the number of flight hours you've logged.
  10. AMRAAM: Sparrow: The BVR bitch-slap in the picture is the Sparrow. Look at the tail fins.
  11. The extras help create lift. German engineering.
  12. No clue, but those are impressive. The third one's the best. Also, I don't seem to recall the Nazi's having flying horses, but I wasn't alive then, so what the hell do I know?
  13. I just got the CORONA Fall 2008 Decision and Tasker Review .ppt emailed to me. Lots of new things coming our way. It's pretty interesting. PM me if you want me to send you a copy via .mil address.
  14. Your NCOs know all about this process. Between them and HQ, they'll get everything taken care of for you. It really isn't anything to worry about, unless they actually call you, of course (mappleby). If they do, talk to your NCOs.
  15. Here's a link to PBruton's blog: PBruton's Blog Congrats on the slot. Watch the OPSEC on your blog site, though. LOTS of info on their about you and your whereabouts...
  16. I'll probably invest in some protective headgear.
  17. Well, you're right about your prediction. If you can get them, get them. But I don't think it's necessary for you to have to take out a loan to finance it. If you do very well on your AFOQT and TBAS, then you probably won't need them. I've got a few buds that didn't have any hours at all and they got slots (STS). If you can get at least a few hours, I would recommend it. You don't need to break the bank, but just know that any hours you do have will help.
  18. If I remember correctly, you're not even allowed to send an LOR to the board through ROTC. I had the same question my junior year and asked my NCO about it. She said that they won't even accept them in the packets.
  19. What a great gift for flight simmers!
  20. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! And I quote: "Some people were very close to getting kicked full force in the face." Jesus Christ, drugs must be fun.
  21. I would wager that the majority of us would be happy to fly whatever we got. Of course we might be disappointed at first if we didn't get a fighter, but ultimately we would be stoked just to fly something for the AF. You should have said "For those who are convinced that they ARE GOING to fly fighters..." I for one think that the idea that one cannot get a fighter anymore is complete bullshit. I've talked to people that really want fighters but are now convinced that they have to put their #2 as their #1 on their dream sheet, because they have it in their heads that their goal is unattainable. If you REALLY want fighters, go for it! IMO, it would be much better to try for it and not get it than to ###### out and only shoot for your second choice. What's to say you wouldn't have gotten a fighter if you really tried?
