All MC-12 drops are now with a follow on assignment. Mostly C-17s and KC-135s from what I've seen. That said, time will tell once these new MC-12 studs finish their 179. The guys who went through IQT before June still have no follow on and probably wont find out till they are done. I don't think they'll have a stateside home. My guess is that 90% of the folks in them are just doing a 179 and going someplace else after. Wouldn't be surprised if this program only lasts a few years or is turned over to the Army. (just my opinion)

After I got 'fired' from MC-12s I had a ton of AFSOC stuff up front, Ospreys included. From what I understood, the various pipelines (NSA, U-28, ect) are fairly backed up. I'm surprised they aren't dropping MC-12s with AFSOC type jobs. Seems most of the guys that wanted one or the other, would have gladly flown either. I still think they should not have follow-on's for MC-12s, more studs might be interested. I've heard dudes say "I'd fly MC-12s if I wasn't shoehorned into KC-135s.." I digress. If two dudes want to swap assignments before they graduate, I don't see what the big deal is. We're just numbers at that point.

The TIB were at Snowfest in 2004. After a long day on the slopes, I wasn't in the best state of mind and actually went to see what they were about. (I had no idea...I wish I did) I left before the first song started, went back to the room and became best friends with a bottle of Cuervo, passed out on the floor.

Haven't other guys ejected over Mach 1 and survived? I recall reading something about a Hun driver doing that back in the 60s. I guess it all depends on a load of factors. (going 1.3 at 3000 AGL is rather outside the safe ejection envelope...)

On the original subject of the Navy getting a few ST's, a family friend out in the Virginia Beach area said he saw some "T-6 look'n things with weapons" on the ramp recently. Dunno if it was at NAS Norfolk or Oceana. Will try and find out more...

I don't blame you. Finished my Double Dead Guy earlier..not as hoppy as I expected overall it was good stuff. Currently sipping on some Extase XO Cognac & Orange for a night cap (raided the old man's wine room) Hate me some more... I'm going up to Ft. Collins tomorrow for a brewery tour: Anheuser-Busch (never been to a huge brewery, brewing lager on a large scale is quite impressive to me) Ft. Collins Brewery (they make a good chocolate stout, but it's summer) O'Dell Brewing (Levity Ale and Cutthroat Porter...mmmm) New Belguim Brewery (I want that damn bike of theirs) Then Rockbottom for dinner and more beer. ...and to think, I'll be living in Germany the next three years. Life is good.

Back home in Colorado Springs for leave, hit up my favorite beer/wine store, Coaltrain, and found their new isle of beer 'bombers'. Like a kid in a candy store!!! Never had anything from Ommegang, so I picked up their Abby Dubbel. 8.5% and deeeeeeeeeeelicous. Tomorrow I'm taking on Rouge's Double Dead Guy Ale.

This video has more footage of the full landing sequence. Kinda surprised that they had the mind to only use the inboard TR as the outboards would have kicked up wicked amounts of dirt and grass. I'm sure they were light as shit though: Dimensions: 8002 x 150 ft. / 2439 x 46 m Surface: concrete/grooved, in fair condition Weight bearing capacity: Single wheel: 65.0 Double wheel: 85.0 Double tandem: 130.0 Quad Double Tandem? Just empty the damn thing weighs about 280K. Not sure what KOSH's weight restrictions are on an a/c with 22 wheels. :)

The children of MoH recipients do get to go to the service academy of their choice, if they meet entry criteria. The MSG/CC I worked for as a casual went to the AFA on this type of nomination. Father's MoH Citation

Information on PCS/moves/moving (DITY, TMO, DLA, storage)
contraildash replied to SUX's topic in General Discussion
I understand how a true DITY move works, but not sure what's going on in my case. PCS'ing to Ramstein. Did a partial DITY to put things in storage back home. Same deal with the 95% ect, but it was never mentioned that I'd get anything up front. I didn't know, so I couldn't ask. So I move my stuff, come back, file the paperwork, and supposedly should have been paid within 2-3 weeks. 3 weeks later, no money. Come to find out, my paperwork never got sent to finance, the reasoning was that I had to wait until my household goods were picked up and shipped (not for another month) and only then will my DITY paperwork go through. From my understanding, I get paid for the weight of the DITY move, not a comparison of the DITY weight to the HHG weight. I don't see why one has anything to do with the other. I think they are jacking me around or, just don't know what the hell they are doing. That $800 bucks would be nice to have... -
I love the fact how at my base, every 3 weeks or so, you have 20+ students (not to mention everyone else) all PCS'ing to pretty much the same bases. This has been going on for 40+ years. Yet, you have to reinvent the wheel every time someone leaves. There's no huge turnover of folks in the MPF either. Been seeing the same faces for the past 2.5 years. When I walked in and told them where I was going, you'd think I told them the AF was PSC'ing me to the moon. For the amount of time I was in the MPF, I shoulda had my own desk.

Pattern work? Better yet...AIRSHOWS!!!!

How much caffeine/crack does this "Vegas" chick take very day? Either she was the head camp counselor at gay ass kumbaya summer camp and that shit carried over into her AF career, or this chick hates her job and oozes sarcasm like some sort of foul vaginal discharge.

#1 from which side of the house? Our T-38 #1 was a salty WSO from Strike Eagles. Good dude. Worked hard, played hard too. Our T-1 #1 was a space cadet. Seriously. One of the funniest guys I know, total space cadet on the ground, great pilot in the air. Every class is different.... On the subject. My wife and I started dating just before OTS. I doubted it was gonna work out, but hey I wasn't going to be dating much at OTS so I figured I'd see what happened on the other end with the two of us. We talked every night at OTS, with a few exceptions. She sent cookies and other goodies for the SQ. It wasn't a bad deal. So we've been long distance since November of 2007, all through OTS, casual, and UPT. Saw each other about once a month, stressful at times, lots of phone calls (usually less than a minute), emails, ect. I never felt like my relationship affected my performance in UPT. Then she moved in with me halfway through phase 3. It was still great, flying was going awesome, I was less stressed out, ect. Then one day we found out that she might have cancer. The day after I hooked my first flight ever in UPT. That was three flights before my Nav check...great timing. Oh I hooked my nav check too. Needless to say, I was slightly distracted. I should have been a 'big boy' and not tried to fly but hey I'm invincible and can handle everything right? It cost me my shot at being #1 in the T-1 class, but in the end it worked out and I still got my first choice in assignments. I also learned a huge lesson about life. After we found out everything was benign, the stress/worry level went way down, I got back into my UPT groove, and finished out strong. So that's our story about UPT, and like everything else out there, how your experience goes...well it 'just depends' ;)

"the only 9-1-1 call I need is chambering a round" If I wasn't going overseas, I'd totally make the 5 hour drive up and buy a truck from this guy!

A 2 on that! And man that video by Martha Gillis is great and damn touching...1st Lt. Brian Bradshaw's mother getting the flag is rough. If that doesn't tug at your heart, I don't know what will....

They do some awesome work on custom tab patches too. Sent in a design, had patches 14 days later. Decently priced. And they can do small order too, none of that 50 minimum crap. edit for update Our SQ ordered some new patches through Mardon 5 weeks ago, thought they would be here by now. Today I got an email for the design approval. Yeah the patch looks great, but it shouldn't take almost 6 weeks to do. They say they will put it on a rush order now, time will tell once they finally get here.

Seems some Cajun down in Louisiana built his own "reaper"... This guy has some interesting videos, such as spear hunting wild pigs barefoot in his rice fields...at night.
