I ran into a similar issue with a lower and a PSA pistol grip, fixed the problem by switching out the screw with an extra I had from another pistol grip I had.

Not with the 40 in particular but the 9mm version is sweet.

SCAR is nice especially with a Geiselle trigger modification. Also a good weapon is the H&K MR762. Both are a bit pricey but a blast to shoot and very accurate when you want to reach out and touch something.
  4. What else could he do? He knew how to read, do math and who his parents really were.
  5. The need for the ACA is the high cost of medical care ans the high cost of medical care is caused by ....... you guessed it medical practice insurance paid by the doctor in case you sue because he screwed up. Solution is found in two words - Tort Reform.

But the not so good news is that the 3rd US District Court in New Jersey took the opposite stance last year. Apparently 19 states are trying to get this case moved up to the Supreme Court. More to follow, I'm sure.
  7. Back in the day there were rumors of the USAF wanting to consolidate ISR at Beale. Those of us at Offutt in the RJ found that the housing market took a serious dump. I ended losing over $18K on a house when we got orders to PCS. We ended up selling to a guy who worked for Union Pacific. So, buying is a risk but just as we lost on this deal we cleaned up in the DC area.
  8. Did my two years of pennance and we lived in Woodbridge. Bought a 2400 sq ft house there, mortgage was about what the housing allowance was - part of the entering argument with the real estate lady. Sold it for about an $80k profit. Commute was about 30 minutes on the HOV if you slugged or carpooled. I parked in south parking for part of the first year, slugged for about a year and car pooled the rest of the time. Car pooling and slugging were good in that you had a reason for leaving the office at a reasonable time, don't want to miss your ride home. It seemed like it took at least 30 minutes to get anywhere as traffic seemed to always be heavy. Schools were good in Virginia, we had no problems.

It's expensive, but no more so than a Geiselle.

Peterson will match but not with independently owned shops, only the big stores - Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabelas, etc.
  11. Been to Chile, its like Europe only more orderly, it's nothing like the rest of Latin America. Actually not a bad choice. You could live there Sep to May and in the US May to Sep and always enjoy summer.

AAFES is getting really squirrely on the gun counters. They are money makers but they seem ashamed that they are even in the store. The guys at Peterson aren't allowed to do special orders since the scare, I think the manager wants the counter to go unprofitable so they might have a reason to close it. The Academy gun counter opened up at the end of last month and they will take special orders, guess where my dollars will go?
  13. Or you have something that they want.
  14. Yet another example why Hollywood should not be allowed to take political stances. They don't know what they are spouting off on and are there just to get back in the limelight. And of course gullible Americans buy off on these ideas and we end up with the government we now "enjoy." Keep Hollywood in the fiction business and out of politics.
  15. My point exactly, I have nothing but respect and admiraton for the man but the hat just has to go.
  16. BAMF for sure but that doesn't make the proposed hat any more manly.
  17. Cartels, corrupt cops, corrupt politicians, and that's just the bigger threats. The colonies look appealing but Mexico can be more jacked up than you might expect, we lived there a couple of years. And of course, no weapons allowed unless you go through more BS than you can imagine.
  18. Hey, you made Fox News http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/11/south-dakota-ranchers-reel-after-catastrophic-storm-leaves-up-to-100000-cattle/ At least part of the country will know about your plight.
  19. Having lived in or spent time in just about every country in Latin America, I wouldn't spend too much time in any of them, they are more screwed up than the US is becoming and you have no rights. The island of Crete would be nice but the Greeks do have some extremely anti-foreigner laws and policies - they like you to visit just not stay. Alaska is also an option if you don't mind the cold and like to hunt and fish.
  20. I had a similar issue with a company whose name I forget. We set up a pick up date and the driver never showed because he wanted to fill up the truck first so that he didn't waste any of his time. Unfortunately as I was PCSing at the time, I was on a timeline and I just couldn't wait around (3 extra days). I called the guy up and told him that he had not lived up to the contract and that I was going on without him. I then called the credit card company and stopped payment on the deposit and told them not to accept any further charges for the company. It worked since i got all of my money back. I ended up renting a U-haul trailer, put the car on that and drove to the new duty station without a problem.

If I were to have any weapons, I would have been sure enough to stock up on the magazines that the idiots made illegal (for now). Kicking out the two last week was step one, slowly this state will realize the folly and fix itself, if not, Texas here I come. In the meantime, we work to make this state what it should be and push the changes back to what it should be.

You may want to look at the law carefully, some stuff is grandfathered if it was used and isn't new. The definition of new is like Clinton's definition of "is," nebulous; so you may still be able to bring in your fun weapons - if you were to own any such weapons in the first place. Colorado doesn't seem to understand that it could easily lose close to a third of its economy if it doesn't make nice with the military currently in the state. Many of us live here by choice and are not in any way shape or form emotionally attached to the scenery and if they make it too uncomfortable for us, we will move (and take our money with us).
  23. I read the article, don't agree, did some fancy flying and all but I've had the same experience with him that seems to prevail in this thread. Not worth all of the hoopla and fanfare that will go into pinning another star on him, it serves no purpose. Besides, rank is not given as a reward for past performance but rather as an acknowledgement of future potential. I dare say, he's tapped out.
  24. Tops in Blue now has competition. Oh and fix your ties.
  25. I've been to just about every one of the places mentioned and all are great depending on your likes and dislikes. Also worth doing is the RAF Battle of Britain museum in Hendon (outskirts of London), Wimbledon is also cool but better if the tournament is going on. I second, use of the Tube as a primary source of transport, the price is right if you get an all day pass. If in Cambridge the Red Cow is a great place to grab a pint and pub meal. Edinburgh is outstanding if you have the time to make it all the way up there and on the way you can stop at RAF Duxford Museum.
