Who's Really Flying The Plane?
Is this a new law of aerodynamics, all heavies require more than one pilot to remain aloft? I agree with Huggy, you may be able to fly with only one pilot but that will only make it easier to cut personnel in other areas as well. This change would also require that airlines fly with at least a few novice (no time) pilots unless they only took ex[erienced military pilots. So overall, probably not a practical yet possible move. Oh and if they do, the major expense will shift to insurance coverage.

The guys in the 55th Wing had Kimber make them a bunch recently, you might look into them. Price wasn't too bad if I remember correctly.

Radio etiquette
Saying good morning to ATC - On approach to Athens, Greece Co: Kalemare Athini, Bozo 22, request vectors for approach ATC: Happy squid to you Bozo 22, turn heading 345 and begin descent Kalimera is good day, kalemare is an appetizer - if you're going to say good morning, good evening, ets; at least get it right. And as for nicknames based on mess ups - talk to the young nav who got his finger stuck in the O2 bottle and then called command post to send out a life support guy to help him out - his new Delta Tau name from then until forever is "Pinky."

Radio etiquette
To show a little age here - the aaaaaaaaand is actually a hold over from the old HF days when the radios needed a tone to key in on and we did this by saying "Annnnnnnnd." There should be no need for this with the newer radios.

Naval Aviator vs. Naval Aircrewman
Sounds like the little guy was talking about fighter pilots.

This has disaster written all over it. I agree with Fuzz, make the point some other way because this is too emotional an issue to make our point this way.

US KC-135 Down - Kyrgyzstan
Looks like the gear was up and the engines came off of the wings. Makes it look like something ripped up the aircraft prior to it hitting the ground. Also from the still photos the inoard side of the right wing looks pretty busted up and charred. A truely sad day for the tanker community. My prayers for the families and the souls of our departed brothers.

Any mention of where they were home based? This system is filtering lots of the imagery.

US KC-135 Down - Kyrgyzstan
Not enough in my opinion and the stars above her need some time as well because they surely knew.

I'm praying that this wasnt the case, the birds were old and tired when I flew them a decade ago, they must be worse now. That dumbass shoe clerk Colonel that #%*$ed the first tanker replacement deal should be fried because we would already have new birds pulling this work horse mission. My prayers to the crew and family, but for the grace of God there go I.

1st female Air Force combat vet in run for congress
Make it 38 RS and you have it spot on, or we could just make it a Wing thing and go Fightin' Fifty Fifth

And with that response - there was much rejoicing - is this over yet?

Maybe we can send the checks for saying the M-word to Syria and they can buy beers (or just send them the beer in kegs). Nothing gets solved unless it's around some charred meat and a few really cold beers.

Tim Tebow (NSFW)
Yeah, but he'd be back on a starting roster. He'd just have to weigh the costs of fame and a multi-million dollar contract.

If you really must look into an inequity in the senior promotion system; look into the percentage of O-6 and school grads that were some general's exec as Captain, Major, Lt Col or all three.

Closest LE dealer is in Denver and he wants $398-499 for the Glock 23, expensive lesson after all.

I've been looking for an AR platform for quite some time and this was the most reasonable price without having to find someone with an FFL or jumping through hoops. Bad news is that this becomes a lesson since the BX will not give refunds on guns or ammunition. Next time I do a little more homework, thanks for brightnening up my day, Just so that I know, what are these weapons going for (when you can find them in stock) these days (not back in the day before the country went crazy)? Of course factor in shipping, FFL fees and tax. At the same time I picked up some 40 round mags for $13 a piece. They complimented the 10 direct from Magpul (30 round). I just did a quick internet check and the Glock 23 Gen 4 is on sale from $540-599. The Bushmaster XM-15 M4-AR3 lists for $1274 from the factory but I found it on other sites ranging from $1050-1199. Prices seem comperable (mostly) now if it's the weapon itself that you don't seem to favor that's another issue all together.

$1145 for the AR and $540 for the Glock and no sales tax If the 90% refers to the man's speech/tantrum the other day and how he blamed the NRA for lying; he was just upset that someone used his own playbook against his righteous cause. The events in Boston also helped this out as most of the country heard and read the reports of an entire unarmed city cowering in fear of a couple of crazed terrorists. Maybe personal defense weapons have a place in our country after all.
