  1. @Biff_T What you’re looking for is light sport (LSA) and Basic Med. However, I believe you have to have a current class 3 in order to get basic med initially (and then you’re gtg even if you subsequently lose the class 3). But, worth doing further research on the class 3 req/waiver process to get basic med without class 3.

…or ref BFM’s post. Way more people flying without license/med/insurance than most think. I’m not condoning it, but it is fact.

  2. She’s bulletproof now. Sorry pipeline bros who have to pass her through every step, regardless of performance. I hope she actually gives a shit about being a pilot, works her ass off at it, and accepts responsibility for her performance. But, also won’t be surprised if none of that is true.

  3. Anyone who supports shit like this or worse, actually believes in it, are the dumbest motherfuckers to waste oxygen in our earth's history thus far. Its well beyond "everyone's entitled to their opinion," and squarely lies in the realm of "you lack the mental processing power of even a below average adult mind."

Anyway he said writing to the board to ask to not be promoted didn't even work for one of his friends

I wanted to decline school in 1st look, OG and WG didn’t concur (they “knew what was best” for me). The WG joked, “well you can just go to the guard if you won’t go to school now, but you need to go so I’m pushing this forward. It’ll be good for your career.” I had the last laugh on that one!

AD will never learn that guys just want some semblance of QOL control for their families and more of a say on the career “track” they want. AD will never be OK with dudes who just want to take part in the dismantling of our enemies.

    This.

I remember not that long ago, a room could be had on base for like $39 - no shit - then, almost overnight, it seemed like prices shot up 3X. It made absolutely no sense and made it so that you might as well just stay off base and get the points and better facilities.

It’s cheaper to stay in a decent place in Old Town than it is to stay at Andrews. WTF?

Hand-build a canoe in your garage and let your grandchildren sleepover for the weekend. GTFO of high office and enjoy the fruits of a lifetime of labor. And I say this to all of you equally  in the 65+ age range. When I am that age, I sure as hell won't be commuting to an office 6am-8pm, busting my hump flying around the world, dealing with Congress & pulling my hair our managing a gigantic organization. Screw that man - that could not possibly sound less appealing.

I don’t agree with you often, but fuck yeah, nailed it! Credit where credit is due.

  7. You can get PME points that count towards a guard retirement, but not an AGR retirement (e.g. if you knocked out PME as a DSG). I want the days counting towards an AGR since I’m close enough to maybe get one. I was on orders when I did ACSC in correspondence, so don’t want those days to not count towards my AGR retirement just because I happened to be enrolled in PME at the time.

  8. If it’s actually a “real” roll call, do not tell a story, an instant justice, etc. Even if asked…your only response is whatever their toast is and take the shot. No matter how funny you think a story at college, while flying a 172, etc is, it will not land as well as you think. Don’t get hammered - you haven’t earned the ability to get wrecked and have all of them still like you the next day. Also helps you maintain control of yourself and not say dumb shit.

Be yourself. Don’t try to be someone you *think* they want you to be.

  9. I can’t be the only one, so cranimum’s up everyone…

Did ACSC while on full time orders several years ago. Just realized my PCARS only granted PME points during that timeframe instead of giving me the active days points. So until fixed, I am about 6 months short of owed active days towards an AGR retirement. Check your shit guys, I’m an idiot for taking this many years to figure it out.

  10. I like Vivek. Not saying he’s perfect or I agree on 100%, but those will always be true statements for anybody vying for my vote. Too bad we’re all going to be force fed old guy vs old guy, as is tradition. I hope he can posture well for a ‘28 run.

  11. @Smokin It completely is doable, just people need to pay attention to their local happenings and be proactive. I think a large reason states like CO have completely transformed is because it all happened slowly prior to Covid, when max amount of people were blissfully ignorant to just about everything and were happy to be that way. Covid was the catalyst for waking up millions of Americans to the bullshit that was seeping everywhere. Now people are paying a lot more attention and have substantially less trust in govt and public entities at all levels. It’s substantially more difficult for progressive Polly to sneak onto the school board, get on city council 3 years later, and end up Mayor 6 years after that (e.g. the long game played in states like CO). The game has changed, and not in the progressive’s favor.

  12. In my experience, absolutely. I think generally guard leadership is really good about helping their people. You’re still in the mil, so it’s not a guarantee, but my guess is they are willing to forego you going at all, look around to find a volunteer from a different unit to fill the time you’d like to be home, etc. There’s usually a way to make it happen for important stuff like a birth.

  13. The media is coming to its defense, saying it’s fine because it only affects 3rd party mass-text message marketing, and not personal texts (paraphrasing). I still say bullshit. A company should be able to market to those who wish to receive their marketing, regardless of topic (if it’s legal). This is an overreach and another notch on the slippery slope belt of the “we know what’s best for you” crowd trying to control everything and everybody.
