  1. If the government is not willing to stop/arrest/prosecute someone for said crime, then it’s not really a crime.
  2. So why do you think the political leaders in those areas didn’t call for massive arrests of the protestors who were illegally in the streets? I also can’t recall too many on the left calling for arrests either? Thoughts?
  3. Just so I understand you…are you saying that all the BLM protestors who were in the roads should have been arrested since it was illegal for them to be doing so?
  4. Well when there’s nothing else that meaningful in your life (friends, family/kids, important hobbies, etc), then many post whatever makes them feel good about themselves…sadly wearing a mask (and showing others that they do) brings a sense of meaning to their lives for those on the left. They’re basically miserable and that’s a shame.

  6. Remember this gem? Yeah, just “trust” the feds… Oh, and I also remember the left (Congressman Schiff as just one example) saying they had proof that Trump colluded with Russia even though they never provided such proof. And yet, even Mueller couldn’t find such evidence. If you want more examples of the dishonesty in our government, let me know…God knows there has been plenty, on both sides.
  7. What are you talking about? The left is telling us that the economy is doing great!
  8. Just like Newsom (CA Gov) who was at the Rams/Niners game without his mask on…plenty of other examples of hypocrisy from the left when it comes to stupid covid measures.
  9. Are you referring to the fact that each state gets two senators regardless of its state’s population and/or that each state gets the number of electoral votes equating to their number of senators and representatives?
  10. Unhhh…please read my post again. I said getting bills passed, did I not? So once again, tell me why then didn’t the GOP change the filibuster rule to get bills passed in the Senate without having to get past a filibuster? And wrt Senate confirmations, Harry Reid first changed the rules wrt confirming federal judges on simple vote (no 60 vote threshold to end debate) and the GOP took the next step on Supreme Court justices. Harry Reid never needed to confirm an Obama SCOTUS nominee after he changed the rules (I’m sure he would have if needed), but he laid the ground work for Trump getting 3 nominees confirmed. It’s cool though…I imagine Biden will get one pick through on a simple majority as well.
  11. Just so I understand you correctly… You’re saying that the Dems/progressives would support the GOP getting rid of the filibuster in 2025 if the GOP has the House, the Senate, and the Presidency? Or are you just saying that you would support ending the filibuster in 2025 in the above scenario? There’s obviously nothing Constitutionally wrong with ending the filibuster, and if it happened, then so be it. But I think it will be funny when the party (who currently desires to end it) will be upset when the other party uses the same tactics to get their way. We definitely shall see.
  12. So why didn’t the conservatives/GOP change the filibuster rules in the recent past to get bills passed on a simple majority vote?
  13. You originally said, “Surely she wouldn’t be allowed to break the tie in the Senate to appoint herself.” So if you’re asking about what is allowed vs not allowed wrt appointing/confirming a Supreme Court justice, then you are bringing up what is Constitutional and what is not. Now if you want to discuss your opinion on whether or not that situation would be good for the county, etc then that’s fine, but that has nothing to do with “not being allowed”.
  14. Conflict of interest has nothing to do with something being Constitutional or not.
  15. Why not?
  16. If Biden nominates Harris to SCOTUS and she is confirmed, then the VP position is vacant, and Biden’s nominee for a new VP needs to be confirmed by both the House and the Senate. But…the Senate would then be 50-50 split, with no tie breaker. So If the GOP wanted to, the VP position would go unfilled and no legislation could get through the Senate without at least 1 GOP Senator signing off. So without some major concessions to the GOP, they’d be back at gridlock (which I’m personally a fan of). BL: Harris is staying where she’s at for the time being
  17. I thought they had green energy? What’s the problem? Is Germany Making Too Much Renewable Energy? https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/02/10/is-germany-making-too-much-renewable-energy/
  18. There’s a lot of money to be made (defense spending) with the situation in Ukraine, and military aid/action doesn’t offend certain groups back home when it comes to politics/support to the left. Back home in the US, there’s not a lot of money for defense contractors to be made with increasing border security (though there is money to be made on border walls, UAVs, etc), but having secure borders equates to “racist policies” and is overall not good politics for the left. Also worth mentioning that many businesses love illegal immigration for the cheap labor, hence why many on the right don’t truly want it either. So like most everything when it comes to American politics—money and power, both on the right and the left.

  21. As expected, Germany is not on board with “severe sanctions” if/when Putin invades Ukraine. It’s not surprising…Germany is in bed with Russia when it comes to energy (why doesn’t Germany just build more windmills?). Germany urges 'prudence' in potential sanctions against Russia over Ukraine https://www.reuters.com/world/germany-urges-prudence-potential-sanctions-against-russia-over-ukraine-2022-01-23/?utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0LMXkakNmnSba1OhnrStAU8dTWLrxG2LMB2USUHMSYWsBXCp95Z3SQocc But let’s be honest here, if China invaded Taiwan, do you really think the US would support “severe sanctions” against a huge trading partner? Would you support removing China from “international finance organizations”? We’re more in bed with China than Hef was with all of girlfriends. I was asked by a friend on New Years for a big 2022 prediction, and I predicted that either China will invade Taiwan or Russia will invade Ukraine (again)…time will tell.
  22. It’s starting… State Dept. Tells Families of Embassy Workers in Ukraine to Leave Starting Monday: Report https://www.nationalreview.com/news/state-dept-tells-families-of-embassy-workers-in-ukraine-to-leave-starting-monday-report/
  23. I saw a few, unless I’m missing something?
  24. What’s funny is that it seems socialist-type politicians in the US (like Bernie Sanders) agree with libertarian-type politicians (like Rand Paul) that we spend way too much money on military spending (we truly should stop calling “defense”). Now what they want to do with that “left over” spending is very different. It also baffles me that people can say that in hindsight the invasions/wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were badly ran and perhaps even a mistake all together…but then are eager to fight Russia just to help out Ukraine.
  25. All comes down to achieving your objectives. If you can achieve your objectives without completely destroying your enemy, then why expend the time and resources to go all out war? The problem is that we don’t usually have clear/measurable objectives or they don’t make sense…or even worse, we don’t follow a strategy that’s in line with achieving those objectives. Biden’s own party wouldn’t even support him getting us involved with kinetic military action against Russia to support Ukraine. And with an unpopular President, he can’t afford to lose any of his base. Oh, and Putin know this, too.
