New Uniforms
Here's actually whats being said in the 1st pic: Woman on left: Becky, does this skirt make me look fat? Female 3-star: Hmmmm...I really don't think so... Gen Mosely (thinking to himself): Geez, I hope this pictures don't get leaked. We'll be the laughing stock of the Armed Forces.

Travis AFB info
I was curious where most guys live around the Travis AFB area. I know that the housing market is crazy in CA and the bubble is going to burst there first, but I'd like to buy something there. Any suggestions?

holding
I don't mind a holding pattern at all. As long as its given to me far enough in advance to where I can plug it into the box, its 10-15 mile legs, and its for minimal time. Its never nice to hear from center..."Josa 123, reduce speed to 250 knots, prepare to hold."

Pilot watches
It's called a Casio G-Shock. Issued at pilot training. Not the greatest watch ever, but does the job. Most guys don't wear it, right?

Peterson AFB/Colorado Springs info
Flow- You should consider renting a house instead of an apartment. There are tons of houses for rent that are withing 20 min from the base, and that means that the prices are quite right. I'm currently renting a house built in 2000, 1700 square feet, 3 BR, A/C, for less than $1K. Just a thought. 4WD is not needed around town here. Anything with FWD would be fine...or, RWD with snow tires. By the way, you'll love CO. I wish I could live here longer!!

C-21s right out of UPT?
LT4Life- I'm not sure if you know, but the entire fleet of C-21s will be cut by more than 50% starting this fall. Therefore, so will the amount of slots out of UPT. The past 3 drops will be nothing like the future drops, IMO.

Fuel Dumping
I think those guys have been exposed to some other type of "chemical". Also called PCP or heroin. There are some serious crack-pots out there! Hey boom, you're not a contributing member to that website are you???

C-21s right out of UPT?
I'm sure after most of the GO's are forced to fly commercial, they're might be a move to bring back some of the C-21s. (Or equivelent type aircraft) Just another good deal taken away!!

C-21s right out of UPT?
Expect 1 or 2 Max out of every drop. Most likely bases will be Andrews and Scott. Good luck!

C-21's going bye bye
21s will be definitly be harder to come by in the near future, seeing that >50% of the fleet will be cut by the fall. However, I think they are moving towards only having Prior Qualified Pilots (130s, 10s, 17s, or 135s) come to the C-21 community, and not having any first assignment guys. Kind of like a mini-89th. So, maybe your chances won't be too bad.

C-21's going bye bye
They were responsible for assigning all of our 'stuff' to other organizations i.e. plasmas, computers, furniture etc. Overall, not the highlight of my brief career. Yeah, we have ya'lls golf cart.

C-21's going bye bye
As far as I know, no one here @ Pete wants an RC. Most want either a 10 or a 17. Oh yeah, there is those few that want a KC-135. Interesting to see what happens with all of you WP guys. Good luck!

C-21's going bye bye
I've heard of some guys here wanting predators next...probably not going to happen though, seeing that us first assignment guys need to go to an MWS next. It wouldn't be my 1st choice, or 2nd, or 3rd....etc.

Anyone ever look into the USCG?
Still holds true. One or two a class, average. They all do primary at Whiting and then come to VT-31 here in Corpus. Right now, they just have the Herks and the HU-25 Falcon jets, but allegedly, they are getting another prop aircraft to replace their Falcon jets' mission.

AD Pad
AD Pad...I thought this was a thread about something one might wear while on AD. Anyhow, the Shaw House @ Keesler was a nice place to stay. If you listened closely, you could actually hear the turds splashing in the toilet from the dude in the next room. Well, come to think of it, you didn't have to listen very closely.

C-21's going bye bye
More like UAVs!! Either that, or everyone will get forced shaped out of the AF.

SERE/Land survival info
If I had to do it over again I would of worn my BDUs. Wearing the flight suit isn't THAT bad (especially in the summer), just plan on it being ruined. It was nice to have extra pockets on the flight suit. Here's what I reccomend to bring: Camel Bak, Gatorade pouches, and Tabasco...you'll need it when you eat that waskully wabbit. Have fun with the beatings! Say hello to "Guns" for me.

C-21's going bye bye
We're staying open @ Pete, however we'll be down to only 3 tails. I think we're only supposed to be manned with 15 pilots. Its about time for me to bug out anyways. I'm glad I took my good deal when I did.

Crab Island and A.J.'s...good times!

Air Traffic Control (ATC) Q&A
I agree. I had a PAR one time @ Norfolk that the controller was talking so fast that you couldn't discern wether she was saying above glide path or below glide path. You might be thinking to yourself that above/below don't even sound alike, but they did. If I'm in the clear I don't really give too much of a damn, but the wx was 300 and 1/2. I actually had to stop her midway and tell her to slow down and speak clearly. We thought she was saying above, however she was actually saying below. Pretty scary!

Pilot Bags for T-1
Our class went with the Cencal. I'm not sure if you're @ Laughlin, but there was an IP there who our entire class bought our bags through. They also had our names put on 'em. They're a good quality bag. The only drawback to them is that they are quite bulky.

Military Squeezed at the Pump
I saved 300 lbs today by flying long-range cruise. Doing my part 1 pound of fuel at a time. However, I did fly with the spoilers out the other day so that I didn't have to circle heavy-weight, which is 15,000 lbs for the C-21.

Cross Country info
Isn't there an AFI out there that restricts sharing rooms for aircrew members? Has to do with not getting adequate crew rest.
