  1. They walked that tweet back. The status of the aircrew is unconfirmed. Hoping for the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk [emoji481]
  2. This checks, in fact that might be too much prep. Know the V speeds and pay attention when you arrive and you'll have no issues.
  3. Update - Downtown Aviation: Memphis Last week me and a few other guys from work all went to Memphis to knock out our ATP. As advertised, their examiners are now charging $400 instead of the $300 they used to charge. That being said, this is still money well spent. No one from my group took their checkride with Doc because he was out of town, instead we all flew with a lady named Karen. She has the right sight picture and not being guaranteed to fly with Doc should not dissuade you from going to Memphis. Everyone passed with no issues. Cost directly correlates to your flight time + examiners fee. From my group we varied between around $1650 to $1850. One final note, if you're still on the fence, I recommend you call today. They're scheduling people for next April now, so I'l let you math majors figure out how much time that leaves before the written tests start expiring. Cheers!
  4. Anyone done their ATP at Downtown Aviation in Memphis and had their new evaluator?
  5. Vetter, I stayed at Chelsea Place apartments, about 15 min from the gate, furnished and pet friendly. I ended up paying about $150/month out of pocket for a single-bedroom but it was worth it in my opinion. PM me if you're interested and I can get you in touch with the guy I worked with.
  6. It's Brett. http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0001793/?ref_=tt_cl_t7
  7. Thread revival. I just picked up a pair of (issued) Belleville 693s. First impression is that they are more comfortable than the 690s and have more of an athletic shoe feel. The tongue of the boot is somewhat thick but doesn't bother me. If you want to try something different from the 690 but still flight approved (that you can probably get your unit to pay for, they're only $40 more) I recommend the 693s. Also, if you can't try a pair on and have to order them through supply, I recommend sizing up by 1/2 a size. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  8. So your idea of honest debate is to troll the conversation with positions you know to be inaccurate? Nice.
  9. This is a bullshit platitude. Here's an example of the Supreme Court disagreeing with you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engel_v._Vitale. There are several others. Heard it yesterday at a mass awards/promotion ceremony.
  10. Can't be worse than Red Tails.
  11. I wish everyone was as smart as you, like the idiot who decided it was probably a good idea to wear his baseball hat when flying with the AFCENT/CC. You know what that earned us? AFCENT/CC guidance on the wear of baseball hats: don't do it ever. I also like to believe that most of us have the SA to know what is and isn't appropriate, but there always seems to be an idiot out there ready to ruin it for everyone.
  12. Bah, I'll believe it when it happens. No one wants to be the Congressman who kept the troops from getting their combat pay. Hell, even when they shut down the government, they bailed out AD military pay in the 11th hour. I've been wrong before but I will be shocked if this comes to pass.
  13. The MC-12 community flat out does not understand VMCA period dot. I have heard some crazy theories about VMCA from IPs in this platform. It's something I brief the LTs I fly with.
  14. Just to pile on, I'm getting the same Chrome malware issue on both my Macbook and PC (win 7).
  15. Jesus tap-dancing christ. Everyone is so busy looking to blow the lid off of some Washington cover up that they forget some people are still fighting a war.
  16. This should clear up any lingering credibility issues regarding the military's effort to end sexual assault...
  17. Does the Charlotte guard know they have J models?
  18. The irony is, all the leadership here at SOS keep going on about what a problem it is that capts are doing SOS in correspondence and in-residence. I guess it doesn't matter what they say if wings are going to keep stratting their eligibles based on correspondence being complete. As long as the stated goal is 100% in-residence attendance, the strat list should be based 100% off time in grade (with the ability to heisman the guy who got a DUI).
  19. I'm sure I've seen one before. The short answer is no. I've never been issued one and aside from a power point classroom lesson I vaguely remember from UPT, I haven't used one at all.
  20. Anyone have the 411 on this gig?

  22. Paper Trainer has T-37/T-38/T-6/T-1 and an Apollo 13 Lunar Module poster. I bought the T-6 one in UPT. Good quality and the size you're looking for.
  23. And if that wasn't enough...
