  1. Yeah, in training and whenever not going to the 'box Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Fact. Store is shared with the rug guy and a couple other alley vendors in a space right next to the commissary. Also of note, there is a new joint that is best described as Turkish Chipotle right next to the base gate. Called Iza grill, highly recommended. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Dude you're counting way too many chickens. If you really want to do this though, cast a wider net to all AMC bases and you'll find Fairchild and McConnell are in there too. Anecdotally after 1 winter in Philadelphia, we had one snow storm. I was on a mission during that whole time, so the amount of snow I've seen here is low. You'll be fine with FWD. I drive a Civic to work every day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. APACS request not required for leave travel to all countries. Consult FCG for requirements. For example, pretty much all of western europe does not require APACS.
  5. I'm not sure about European SIM cards, but that ATT plan is outrageous. I personally have had Sprint stateside for years and they have free international data (slow) and text. Works great in most places for the things you describe and perfect for transient aircrew. T-Mobile has the same thing except available in more locations worldwide and a little bit faster. But if you're gonna be here a little while I suggest looking towards Vodafone Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah that's right, except member 3 would only be charged 1 day of leave since they returned on a non-duty day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Well I got into the PHL and CLT clubs last week Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Confirmed. Posting from Admirals club in A-west PHL. Presented boarding pass and ID and was welcomed graciously into the club. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Apparently AA allows military into any of their Admiral's Clubs for free as long as you are traveling same day on AA and have orders. What kind of orders are they looking for? I'm not sure. But if you are active you are always on orders, AF 988 leave orders are just that, orders. I'm going to try this on Friday afternoon at PHL and will report back. Click here to see the AA policy
  10. I just went through a similar situation. Any weight over 600 lbs counts for a PCS PPM soooo what that means is you need a lot of weight tickets. Think of it like a triangle with the apex'es at duty station, TDY, and new station. You're gonna need weight ticket pairs (empty and full) for duty station to TDY. Another pair TDY to new station (both of these up to 600 lbs). The third pair will have all your weight minus whatever you used for your 600 lbs, (they want you to remove the 600 lbs). This one will be for your PCS from duty station to new station. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Yup. And during UPT at XL you're much better off living on base. Nothing worth living at in Del Rio is close to the gate. If you were back as an IP, then I would suggest living in town.
  12. Not sure about academy, but I know of two contracted ROTC cadets who had to go to basic. Both had already completed ROTC field training.
  13. It was 30 mph. Luckily for all, earlier this year most of the streets of Del Rio got a speed limit increase from 30 mph to 35 mph.
  14. oooooooooor he's guard and going right back where he came from.
  15. Look at the RPA thread in this forum. CBM was informed too. (some dude posted the entire email that was sent out).
  16. I read one report that suggested the F-16 was on an instrument approach.
  17. You'll probably get picked up after some people medical DQ/get disenrolled from ROTC. And if you want RPA, go for it. I wouldn't settle for it though. I'm from the mentality that if you want to fly, you want to fly, not sit in a box.
  18. I'm slowly adding c-17 units, mostly because it is a smaller pool than the plethora of C-130 guard units that are out there.
  19. You can get a garage in DLF if you are an O-6.
  20. Call the CGOC on Randolph too and tell the president to get on their email list STAT.
  21. Edit because I just saw the other posts. Discriminating because you're not married, that's funny dude. ROTC should have told you about stuff like this. If she wants to move to San Antonio she should get a job and her own place. Besides you're going to Creech/Cannon in a year, better make sure she is aware of that. Also the dorms aren't like college, they are really studio apartments.
  22. Doubt you can do it on gov't dime.... I inquired with TMO in conjunction with my PCS about moving a non-running project race car. My intention was to tow it on a trailer with my truck and get paid for the weight... TMO answer, they will ship car parts, not cars. So basically if you stripped it down to the shell they will pay for everything but the chassis. <My personal interpretation of the JTR. TL;DR No, unless you strip it to individual parts, IE bare chassis.
  23. The way that dude posted makes it seem like the week long thing was the only contributing factor at DLF. I'm well aware that the same issue has not been discovered at the other bases.
  24. It was grounded for more than just after the engine out at doghouse or dogface or whatever you guys call the aux field up there.
