Or you can buy into the fact that he's an Officer and that Airman took an oath that said "I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the officers appointed over me." He tells them what's going to happen, if there's pushback, he stops interacting with them and deals with the Flt/CC or Flight Chief. You also solve problems at the lowest level, that's Leadership 101.

On a positive note with the amount of information that is now passed via social media, internet, etc about stuff like this, Commander's can't sweep much under the rug anymore without letting it get public and at least looked at by senior leadership. I know damn well Rat would've swept Kiser's firing under the rug, nobody would of questioned it, and he'd be on to his first star. Due to the intense social media and blogger postings Rat's plan got derailed and he'll never get that star.

The RPA route is a reason why the USAF needs to bring back Warrant Officers. However the USAF has a big anti-Warrant Officer sentiment, much like allowing Enlisted to fly RPA's. Somehow we can refuel aircraft in the air, load Abrams tanks on a C-5, calculate TOLD and be a systems expert on a CV-22, and fly as airborne linguists speaking Russian, Arabic, or Chinese...but we can't pilot RPA's.

The USAF did the E's instructing and and evaluating the O's back in the 90's with Weapon Directors and the first 13B's. Bringing back Warrant Officers to be RPA Pilots would be perfect.
