Add another one destined for the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico... A Savage 64 BTV with a nice BSA 3-9-40 scope with Leupold rings. The bipod didn't come with it, but those are easy to find... Bought it from the same buddy who sold me the stainless Marlin 60 that is resting peacefully with the fishes! Cheers! M2

Well, guess what happened to me this evening... I was buying a Savage 64 BTV target rifle from a buddy of mine, and we agreed to meet at a gas station that's about halfway between where we live and where we've done similar transactions before. He handed me the rifle and I briefly pointed it up at a billboard to check the scope out. Ten minutes later a police car rolled up and the officer got out and asked what was going on. We told him we were conducting a private gun sale, and he said there was a report of someone shooting at the billboard. I explained that I was just checking out the scope and that the rifle was unloaded. I also asked if he wanted to see ID. He replied no, he just had to check out what was really going on, and wished us a good evening and left. No drama, no confrontation, no being belligerent on our part or the officer's. It was a reasonable, respectful encounter that lasted less than 15 seconds. We understood he had to find out what was going on, and there was no reason for us to be hostile as we weren't doing anything wrong, and we were treated respectfully. Were our "rights" being violated by our being asked what was going on? No. Could we have been assholes towards the cop? Sure. Would that have helped resolve matters any? No. Do you think the next individuals with a rifle that the officer encounters will get treated the same way? Probably. Had we been jerks would they? Probably not. Sorry I didn't get video for YouTube, but I would not be surprised that similar occurrences happen 99.69% of the time and never get posted on the Internet. It all boils down to the Golden Rule, treat others like you would like to be treated, and most times that is what will happen. I don't buy into all this police conspiracies that PYB and others claim is a common occurrence. I know not all cops are good at their jobs, but I also know it is a tough profession and in some ways tougher than serving in the military. I am sure PYB will believe all of the above is made up, because people like him don't believe anything except what those voices in their heads are telling them; but I can assure you that it did and I am sure similar encounters occur every day. Unfortunately, it is jackasses like him that cause some cops to be less-than-respectful to others; but I can tell you that the vast majority of police officers I know are honest, hard-working professionals and have my utmost respect. But as the old saying goes, play stupid games, win stupid prizes; which is exactly the kind of games PYB is playing. One day he will win his "stupid" prize, and he'll deserve every inch of it!

I have yet to see ammo on any bases being a deal, you're better off trying online or at gun shows...

"Multiple minor traffic infractions without allegations of other criminal conduct would not be an issue under the Criminal Conduct criterion. However, they can be considered under the Personal Conduct criterion along with any other dishonest, unreliable, or rule-breaking behavior." Considering the other actions of this individual, it could have an impact on his clearance especially when it appears he is actively pursuing them as shown in that video. I just hope he captures it on video when he's tazed!

Painted nails and a trimmed goatee? He needs to be straightened out (no pun intended) no matter what his sexual orientation is. Neither are allowed for males in the USAF, regardless of which team they bat on. A shaving waiver means NO shaving whatsoever, so if he's trimming his beard (no STS) then he's in violation. It's bullshit that people are too scared to correct such discrepancies for fear of unsubstantiated accusations afterward...

Here ya go, the one uniform all services can use! -
Scottsdale Gun Club is having a US Palm blowout sale, I was able to pick up an AK Attack Rack I've been wanting for about half to a third of what it originally cost... (Note that not all colors shown in this pic are are available, and black is available but not shown) For anyone running a Kalashnikov, this is one of the best racks available. It is also available in a lefthand version for you Southpaws out there. Note this is the first version, US Palm redesigned it to accept a Level IIIA soft armor panel chest plate. It is on sale as well, but only in Khaki... They do have other versions, to include a multi-platform one as well as ones with plates installed; but they are not on sale. Still, SCG has some of the best prices I could find, so they're definitely worth checking out! Cheers! M2

Thank God, I wouldn't want anyone to miss such an accurate analysis of yours truly! But I tell you what, if anyone feels CCP/PYB was treated unfairly, feel free to post up a comment in this thread. If a majority of the people on here agree, I will reinstate his account and offer an apology. That is the democratic process in action, something he can't help but agree with being such a diehard patriot. I promise I won't delete any posts unless they violate the first rule of the Squadron Bar established by Rich when he set it up, "Be civil, don't abuse it." I cannot promise NSA not doing the same... This will also become a separate thread when I get a chance, it doesn't need to be buried in the Wilkerson one. Cheers! M2

When I was at ETAR (95-99), the first used BMW 318i I bought the previous owner told me about a great mechanic in Ramstein village named Kurt Koprowski. I had two beater 3-series while I was there (the second was a 320i M-series), and he took excellent care of both of them. Well, a Google search still listed him at Landstuhler Str. 32, 66877 Ramstein-Miesenbach; right next to the Thai Thai Orchidee. His number is listed as 06371/70724. If she does look him up, let me know. It would be nice to know the guy is still around. Typical German, smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish; but a great mechanic and honest as well! Cheers! Nope, CannonCrashPad is done not only here; but on BaseOps completely. He's a troll, and honestly may have been PYB reincarnated... He is gone. Good riddance.

Report Slams Military's Recent Camouflage Uniforms

I wore BDUs enough during my 25 years to know how they were, and they weren't bad uniforms. However, I am not saying to bring them back; just that the DoD needs to design one uniform and everyone (yes, including the Marines) wear it. This waste of every service designing (and redesigning) "combat" uniforms has to stop. Talk to any Army bubba, they hate 'em. They prefer the multicam. -
Go back and read post #30 in this thread and try that again...

Everybody was OK with BDUs from the early 1980s until the mid-2000s, why in the fuck can't the military figure out one standard utility/combat/field uniform for everyone now? Seriously, the ABUs have been a huge joke since their introduction, and the Navy's are even more ridiculous. They don't even wear them in real combat zones, much like the Air Force they use Multicams. The Army at least didn't develop theirs by committee, but the ACU still sucks balls. And seriously, the only real reason the Marines developed MARPAT was to be different. They always have to be different. Adopt the Multicams, bring back subdued patches so folks can have some sense of unit pride, and put an end to all this bullshit! -

He can thank my old boss, Gen James L. Jones, for that. -
The IP address showing for you isn't the same as the ones that were having problems. I searched on the one listed for you and don't see it in the ban list. I checked the one on your profile (it's different) but it too isn't list on the ban list. Check your UP address (get it from https://whatismyipaddress.com/) the PM it to me and/or Toro, and we'll see if it matches what you're showing up as here and if it's on the ban list. Cheers! M2
