  1. Dude If it weren't for your avatar, you'd get a... NERDS! Quick, here is a hot pic of Kate Beckinsale to de-geek this thread! I'd like to launch my rockets into her moons! Cheers! M2
  2. Just to dog pile here, you'd be a fucking fool to SIE for this woman. If you do, not only are you flushing your dreams down the crapper but she will have castrated you for life (even worse than you are already). Dude, no matter how sweet she is, she is killing you. Either dump her and get on with your dreams, or hand in your man card and start wearing the sweaters she will knit for you while you clean our her cat's litter box. Actually, in retrospect maybe you are better off that way...

    Gun Talk

Well, based on recommendations from people I don't know; my 12-yr-old and I drove for four hours yesterday morning to go to what was billed as "the largest gun show in Texas." Unfortunately, it turned out to be a wash, overpriced pieces of shit for the most part. I was quite dejected as I was hoping to find a nice M44 at a decent price. All I saw was non-matching numbered, stocked-beat-to-shit jokes. The only deal I saw was a 1943 Izhevsk-built Mosin-Nagant 91/30 for $99 out the door. I know AIM has them cheaper and with more accessories; but I like to grope and fondle weapons before I buy them! Anyhow, I don't have any pictures of it yet but since most Mosins look alike here is one that is similar... I also snagged 40 rounds of 7.62x54R but unfortunately my planned trip to the range got rained out this morning. These are not my videos, but they give you a good idea of what the Mosin is so well-loved when it comes to shooting... I am still on the hunt for a M44, a carbine-length version of the above with a cool side-folding bayonet. I have a few leads, but nothing concrete yet. After last weekend's no-show seller, I don't take anything for granted. Cheers! M2

    5th SOF truth?

Or better yet, leave the Four SOF Truths the fuck alone! Why does the Air Force constantly feel the need to convolute every fucking thing into meaningless gobilly gook? It took a very clear and enduring mission statement of 'fly, fight and win' and 'd it into 'to deliver sovereign options for the defense of the United States of America and its global interests -- to fly and fight in Air, Space, and Cyberspace' The Four SOF Truths area clear, concise and understandable. Everyone realizes that the mission requires support, but does that really require mentioning in a mission statement? I look back to my days in aircraft maintenance when I was enlisted, those dedicated take pride in ensuring their aircraft is the very best it can be, and their satisfaction is derived from the mission getting done, and not some jabber jabber...

    Gun Talk

Well, I am pissed! I was suppose to meet the dude with these two rifles (a Russian SKS and a Romanian Mosin-Nagant M44) on Saturday and he didn't show. Now he isn't returning my calls or emails. I think he backed out of the deal for whatever reason (I was willing to pay his full asking price for the two guns) and won't man up and tell me. It is irritating as I bought a sling for the M44 at the gun show Saturday morning, and I was really looking forward to getting that particular carbine as I hear they are a blast to shoot (pun intended). If I don't hear from him by tomorrow, I am writing the deal off and will start hunting for a M44 on GunBroker or somewhere... Cheers! M2

Here is better information on the incident copied from the Lakeland Ledger. I have heard of guns going off once accidently, but 3 times? I am betting on the gun having been modified...and a blantant violation of range rules. I don't know about this place, but I clear my weapons before setting them down.

    Oktoberfest

Unfortunately, my travels to Stuttgart two weeks ago didn't allow me time to get to Munich; but I have experienced my fair share of German fests and loved each and every one of them! I realize a few on here may never have had the opportunity to attend a fest or the fests of fests, Oktoberfest; so here are someone else's pictures as why it is so popular. Beer, lederhosen and a lot of cleavage...a winning combination! Prost! M2

  18. Good point, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is named in honor of Navy Lt. Seymour A. Johnson, a Goldsboro native who died in an airplane crash near Norbeck, Md., on March 5, 1941 (Source). It may be the only Air Force base named in honor of a naval officer, but how many Navy bases are named after Air Force pilots?
  19. Although I do appreciate your enthusiasm, most US bases are named after people. Scott AFB is named after the first enlisted person killed in an aviation crash (Corporal Frank S. Scott). Dyess is named after Lt. Col. William Edwin Dyess, a native of Albany, Texas. Luke, MacDill, Beale, Keesler, McChord, Cannon, Hurlburt, Langley, Hickam...the list goes on. The Air Force's history is full of noble individuals who gave their lives for their country and their fellow airmen. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough bases to honor each and every one of them. Cheers! M2
  20. True, it's more of a windbreaker/raincoat than a cold weather jacket. However, if you can find an old field jacket liner and someone to sew the buttons into the parka for you (wife or girlfriend preferably, but any alterations shop will do); it makes the jacket much more useful in cold weather. I did that with the old Gortex BDU parka and was amazed at how much warmer it was...

Yeah, it is getting to be a sickness as I don't even have the paratrooper in my hands yet and I am already seriously thinking about picking up this local deal... I like to consider them "investments!" Cheers! M2

Well, I just had to have one of these for the collection... It's a Norinco SKS paratrooper. I know it was never used by the PLA, but I think they are sweet looking and distinctive enough from the other SKS rifles I have. Cheers! M2
