  1. I don't go to politicians for my art, and I don't go to artists for my politics. So, no. I generally don't have a problem outside of a few niche cases (ex. Michael Moore). I disagree strongly with Kevin Spacey's politics, as well as George Clooney and Tom Cruise... but they're fantastic actors who make decent if not excellent movies. I expect my artists to be nut-job loonies (ex. Tom Cruise), and my politicians to be back-stabbing snakes (ex. Paul Ryan).
  2. Wonder what it would look like if we could bounce this list against the RIF/TERA/VSP/Whatever "must separate matrix" that AFPC offered in the last 2 years. Edit to add that the two workhorse cyber customer support AFSCs we separated a ton of are on there: 3D1X1 Client Systems, and 3D1X2 Cyber Transport Systems
  3. And.. check it again. Massive bad news update.
  4. I've actually done this with fantastic results. Now if I could just get the OG/CC to realize what his Airmen want, it might be worthwhile.
  5. Go see "The Martian."
  6. No Yes Yes
  7. Lies, it's glorious. I'm a level 108 Colonel, salute the rank!
  8. Looks good. Saw Black Mass. Very well done. Not your typical gangster flick, more visceral and dark. Depp was really good. Recommend. Also saw Mazerunner.. pass.
  9. Not sure how she can have a star over her AFSC badge w/ just 4-months of service.
  10. This seems pertinent - Why ‘Charity vs. Selfishness’ should replace the ‘Management vs. Leadership’ dichotomy in our thinking about leaders. https://medium.com/the-bridge/the-three-streams-of-leadership-d76c13d18538
  11. I've been dreaming about this for years, finally happening - Wireless Hacking In Flight: Air Force Demos Cyber EC-130
  12. That's so.. strange. Does the early eligible get more money? You'd think they'd throw more at the on the fence/more experienced (even if only a year) guys who didn't take the other ones. I guess more people could wait it out then for more cash.. but you'd get an easy crop for 365's and the like. Unless I'm thinking stupid, which is always possible. Thanks for the info!
  13. So.. are you offered the ACP every year if you don't take it the first year available? It's not a single offer to your year group? Thanks.
  14. Had this discussion with a few crusty execs. They agree with everything you said and further stated it takes 7 years to get someone into the position to groom them for higher command. So when these guys/gals retire short notice, it throws the whole promotion system into a lurch. These individuals had jobs and steps lined up for YEARS ahead of time. Imagine the type of personality this breeds - "Dude, you're set for life as long as you don't commit a crime or kill someone."
  15. My boss used one in Afghanistan when the SOF forces said stopping to pee was a security concern. She ended up putting in a request for this item for all the women on her engagement team. Before that they cut water bottles up and used them. Go cyber....
  16. FTFY. Set the standard, achieve it. No problems with that.
  17. Pointed the gun and I had to close the window.
  18. I don't have all all their numbers, sorry. Still go for it, AF is changing drastically and using history is of less worth!
  19. Another video - At least 7 dead so far, damn man.
  20. Pretty much the above. Be warned, know quite a few that have attempted to make the cross and it's just not happening. Not to get you down, just a reality. Good luck.
  21. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was entertaining. Different since it takes place in the cold war and is less.. techy and flashy. Enjoyed 3.2 of 8 banananananas
  22. Latest installment of Mission Impossible was pretty good.
  23. Very much agree with Gravedigger. Don't have time for a good reply now, but hope to soon. The confusion can be seen just in our AFSCs 17D & 17S. The AFOCD hasn't been updated with the new AFSC's, still has 17DA/B shreds. I think I've posted this before, but here's our Career Field Education & Training Plan (CFETP). I was going to provide some more docs, but it was taking awhile. Just read through a few of those pages and realize.. all the training's the same. You break from UCT into your AFSC and if you go keyboard-ninja (17S) spend 24-36 months getting trained. Very similar to Ops (specifically Electronic Warfare Officers) in missions, planning and (somewhat) upgrades. But.. the career path pyramid (pg. 14) is still the same for 17S officers, still expected to move after 3 years, same 4-year commitment. ACC/A6 said they were going to make a decision this year about how to treat the AFSC's for once and all. Too many support guys flowing over to lead Ops Sq's with no training, guys coming of keyboard ninja jobs to run AFCERT IA inspection teams to verify your COMSEC accounts.
  24. Don't want to get to much into specifics. But it was totally anonymous and none of them were planted. All unanswered questions are being sent to him and he's engaging as best he can. He didn't shy away from the hard ones (Mon not a down day). So, there's that.
