  1. I'm actually not sure, my incidents page just says "updated" I called AFPC to ask what that actually meant and she said that retirements policy has my application...have no idea what that means either.
  2. Truth...the 24 hour old accumulations of bacon grease will turn you off the stuff forever.
  3. What year group are you? Is your year group/AFSC red on the matrix? You've gotten further in the process than anyone else I know.
  4. A quick update; I talked to AFPC today and they lady I talked to thinks that the initial reviewer (it sounds like it was literally a GS-7 secretary type) MAY have simply gone over the red/blue matrix and declared me ineligible, while not realizing that I should have fallen under the caveat about continued officers. My faith in this getting resolved in my favor? zero...they'll just change the PSDM in the next update and say they were right all along. AFPC and these people are the ones in charge of your lives folks...hunker down and pray.
  5. No shit man, send a letter to the board begging them to SERB you. A 27.5% retirement vs this shit? No brainier!
  6. I'm on the phone with them now and if it is a Gs-3, they're overpaid
  7. Yeah brother had the full up application in...just talked to a 98 buddy of mine and he got the same message. Good to know that in the middle of this AFPC has time to email that you're eligible, re-do a quick turn eligibility check and then do it all again! I have two ADSCs for PCS and GI bill transfer, but both are reasonably short
  8. It says "AFSC, grade or year group is not eligible or has been removed from eligibility" I'm '98 12R. I thought the caveat about "all selectively continues officer are eligible..." Was my ace in the hole. Oh well...can't blame me for manning problems big blue, I tried.
  9. Do you check your "incidents/messages" link on mypers? I'm on the exact timeline as you but the last action taken on mine was CC coord on the 21st. Says usual processing time (not that TERA is usual) is six weeks so I was thinking late Feb/early March.
  10. Yeah I've been following my incident number obsessively and so far there's no action on it whatsoever. I am knocking on wood and praying to any evil god that will listen that there wasn't a collective "oh shit, we gotta turn this off" yesterday morning at AFPC because every single rated person who is eligible clicked the TERA button.
  11. So I just tried to submit my TERA application but only got as far as the "eligibility check." According to the psdm which was just updated yesterday that's apparently all that can be done but it seems to me that if they wanted us to apply on 14 Jan these eligibility checks could have been done weeks ago Am I missing something?
  12. Did anyone else notice this: "All Selectively Continued Officers with greater than 15 but less than 19 total years of service are eligible for TERA and other voluntary programs, with the exception of the Following AFSCs: 11F/H/U, 12F/H/U, 13C/D/L, 18X ,52R" This is great news (and -knock on wood- was my second best option) but could this possible lead to dudes tactically attempting to not get promoted to take advantage of an early out to airlines/industry?
  13. Go and read the comments section on the my.af.mil 2014 force shaping announcement...there's an enormous number of people that are looking to TERA as their golden ticket. I think the Air Force is about to learn that more people than they ever imagined would get out if they felt they were getting a reasonably fair deal and the members of the AF are going to be sorely disappointed when Big Blue gives just about everyone a big No.
  14. The basics or the program are up on mypers ...whats missing is the matrix to show who actually qualifies.
  15. I just got the TERA II info from my boss, looks like essentially the same program they offered in the summer with he exception that anyone with 19 years can apply to retire regardless of AFSC. It says to search 25484 on mypers for the AFSC overage/eligibility matrix but I'm not seeing anything new. Anybody have any any other way to find this matrix? I'm assuming the overages are an AFPC product that's not too hard to find but I'm having no luck.
  16. And essentially killed any non-flying productivity in the process. Everyone I know is sitting around gossiping, constantly checking mypers, AF times and BO.net for any words whatsoever before most of us go on leave.
  17. I think you're that it doesn't have to be paid back immediately but I am 99% sure it has to be paid back before you collect a retirement. I do know that when I tried to join the reserves in 2011 i signed a paper that said I was not planning on accepting any sort of separation pay on my exit from active duty.
  18. No, it has to be paid back before you can join any other guard/reserve unit. And another slap in the face if you decide you're done with the military period that I heard about when I had to do TAP two years ago; if you take any separation money from the military you aren't eligible to receive most of your VA benefits until it's paid back (GI BILL and VA loans not included). Your tax/IRA questions are very interesting and something I think a lot of us will be scrambling to figure out.
  19. I followed the directions (both with the windows 8 workaround and activex install) and still get this message after entering my pin: The page cannot be displayed Explanation: There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. Try the following: Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion. 20. Did the search, so no previous topics....but if needs moving please go ahead... Anyone had any luck getting to official email from home? I have CAC reader and when I click on the appropriate bases link it will recognize the two certs on my card. I click either one and then get a message that the web page is unable to load. I asked my comm folks and they were zero help. I'm running windows 8 on a newish computer and didn't add any unique software or drivers. I did a google search and get about a million different recommendations that look dubious at best. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Everyone I've talked to is confused by this announcement bro, hopefully some clarity will be coming soon when they announce who is eligible for what programs. The bottom line is you have to do what's best for you. If you were on the fence about getting out and you see this as your opportunity, take the money and run as far as you can.
  22. So the way I'm reading this is if you're a Major between 15-18 years in non-critically manned career field the Air Force is willing to give you a golden ticket to get out the door early. However if you have the same number of years and just so happen to be in a critically manned career field then you are subject to the RIF. In essense: We don't need you, here's a paycheck for life and a cadillac healthcare plan. We need you but you came up a little short, f--- of and die.
