  1. Ceiling tiles as well, if you or a friend are at your old UPT base, get a hold of that stuff ASAP before it gets hauled off to the MEO gulag
  2. Word on the strips is the powers that be are removing nose art from the planes in the Air Force museum. Can anyone in Dayton confirm or deny?
  3. This is my absolute favorite quote in this thread
  4. Leadership here just went down the hallway & into offices removing anything "offensive" from the walls & desks. It has begun
  5. STF, IF, FTD, BNG, BKIH
  6. 3 paragraphs & roughly 4 periods... That was painful. I think there were some valid points buried in there somewhere though.

that would make SO much sense! Preaching about CAPES, wisdom & leadership on the internet while telling everyone on the internet not to preach about CAPES, wisdom & leadership. If SOF is a McDozen CC, that would be perfect.

You posted your credentials!?!? GASP! isnt that an OPSEC violation??? I think everyone doubts your experience. It sounds to me like you're a salty former back-ender who thinks he knows the best usage of metal and money just because he was voluntold into a pile of air medals. You sir, are a troll

I think his point is that he just learned a bunch of big new words & trivia and is using them to make himself sound intelligent in the absence of actual wisdom or experience.
  10. If they're casual LTs awaiting UPT, the duty title wont matter because there's no OPR to back it up. If you're just concerned with an LOE, you could write anything on there, as the LOE doesn't stay in the UPRG. When in doubt, just call them "Assistant <duty title of the person they work for>"
  11. This^^ You will have a grad flt/cc who is there to field this kind of thing. Let them know early, and plan on the AF taking priority if training dates drop. My best advice is do a courthouse wedding, make it legal, then take all the time you need to plan the ceremony. Buy the insurance on every ticket, and understand that Murphy's Law will dictate that the more effort you put into planning that post-UPT wedding / cruise / trip to Cabo, the more likely it is that your SERE dates will fall right smack dab in the middle of it. Stay flexible, i hear it's the key to airpower or some such shit.
  12. Zing! Too soon?
  13. Gigantic "2" on this. I don't have time to teach you both what the book says as well as how to do it. Book stuff is easy and one of the few things in UPT that you can control. Current leadership has zero tolerance for academic deficiency, so don't be that guy that can't get his book knowledge right.
  14. Whoa! Don't ask someone for advice on teh interwebz! The internet posters are evil & dumb & smelly! Not SOF though, he's different from all the other internet posters because... um... because he's... not rainman? Wait, i'm confused. If only there was someone here i could worship & turn to for advice. Someone who knows the value of posting online all day while pointing out how frivolous it is to post online all day...
  15. OK, i'm just as guilty as anyone else here, but this was a legitimate topic that turned into a swordfight, so...
  16. Here's a toast... What a crappy way to go
  17. FIFY You spout some of the most mind-bogglingly myopic leadership wisdom I have ever heard. The inference that you are in a position of power with this maxwell kool-aid tinted view of how the force works worries me.
  18. I'll go out on a limb and say he understands the queep more than the rest of us because he is the cause (or at least the perpetuator) of that queep. I'll go out on a limb an say that this attitude is part of the problem. Also, since when do E-9s get to sit SOF?
  19. It means you're purposely picking a fight with inflammatory (& blatantly incorrect) statements. Normally trolls should not be fed by reacting to them, but you strike me more as a grumpy old head who yearns for the good old days "back when it was tough", and whines about it on this new-fangled interwebz.
  20. As a grad and an IP to many a USAFA grad, I have steadily reinforced my theory that the Zoo is a personality force multiplier. (Blanket STS) If you enter the academy as a fairly well-adjusted, normal person, you'll come out just fine. If you are a sheltered introvert with nerdy tendencies & high marks in school, you will come out of there a massive turbodork. In between these extremes, fairly minor personality flaws can be amplified to major issues; i.e. the desire to skate around inspections & parades & such often translates into an aversion to checklist discipline, chairflying, & studying. For others, UPT ends up being an extension of the college experience they never had, so they go a little crazy. With all that being said, I can honestly say I haven't seen more USAFA grads wash out than any other demographic, but it seems like the really spectacular washouts are zoomies. However, that may be a perception flaw in that some folks tend to be predisposed to expect a certain level of professionalism from academy kids, so the ones that wash out are often more remembered.
