  1. I'd hardly call 2 psi under the min allowable bending the rules.
  2. The program is probably 169% over budget and the production line is 1-2 yrs backed up.
  3. I once heard a Californian tell me that they wouldn't eat anything from a microwave because they read somewhere that Johns Hopkins had done a study on it. When I asked them what it said, they couldn't tell me other than supposedly it was bad for you. UFB
  4. I spent 4 years there and loved every minute of it. The town itself may not be that big, but it's got more than everything you need. Plus, Philly, DC, NYC, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Boston are all within 5 hrs driving. PM me if you want some more indepth info.
  5. Anybody looking to rent their home in the next few months? PCSing in January and looking for a family & pet friendly home in a good neighborhood.
  6. Haven't seen many Ops-2-Ops assignments in the past year and a half. Mostly MC-12, white jets, or RPA. Can't speak for CHS though. Supposedly they're supposed to keep those in the jet around and slow down some of the PCS.
  7. Don't know what CHS or TCM are ops tempo wise, but at the smaller -17 bases, you can expect two 4-7 day trips a month with two 2 month deployments a year.
  8. I guess they'll try to turn any type of situation into a buck..... Chinese Toy Company Makes Replica of Stealth Chopper Used in Bin Laden Raid
  9. I guess you can buy just about anything now-a-days... Pawn Stars owner buys AIM-120 AMRAAM missile

  11. Drug-Smuggling Pigeon Gets Its Wings Clipped I guess they'll try anything now-a-days.

    Gun Talk

Article I thought this is a little ridiculous. Basically, the ACLU is filing a lawsuit in SD because their conceal and carry laws state that you have to be US citizen. Thoughts/discussion?
  14. I'd agree. I thought that the article was written with poor tact. Yes, it's important that aircrews study this mishap and learn from the mistakes that were made, but the AF Times article was horribly written. Another reason why anything I read from them, I always take it with a grain of salt. It's almost like they're purposely making an attempt to lay blame in this accident. Yes, the public accident report clearly states the circumstances as to how and why the mishap occurred, but when AF Times takes it to the "next level" as to make it a point to say exactly who sat where, I think that it was unnecessary. 15. I enjoyed the, "Don't Try This At Home!" As if everybody had access to a multi-million dollar aircraft and lots of spare time.
  16. This is how I feel. First time I took the new PT test, I failed on the push ups alone. The PTL I had was a jack-$#% and didn't count 30+ of my total pushups. Took the test on a Monday, failed, and re-took the test on the following Friday and scored a 95+ (wasn't attempting to brag, just making a point). Honestly, I believe that hiring out contractor PTLs is crap because apparently they go "by the books" and don't take into account that what they're grading you on could have a very positive or negative impact on your future career.
  17. In terms of watches, I bought the Casio Pathfinder for myself about halfway through UPT and I love it. It's got a bunch of great features that I hardly use on a day-to-day basis, but when I do need them, they're get. It's a rather large watch, but for all of the different features that it has, I think that it's worth it.
  18. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family... Drank plenty of beers for him tonight
  19. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of all those lost in this tragic accident...
  20. EDIT: Grammar It may not be written in a contract somewhere that the drop has to be at the O'Club, but higher-up leadership states that you must have it there. They also mandate that you buy at least 2 kegs directly from the Club at a crazy expensive price as opposed to buying it at the Class 6 and bringing it over. Our class got hosed with ''mandatory'' graduation expenses that were required for us to purchase from the club.
  21. I'm getting ready to fill out my dream sheet here in a few weeks for the T-1 drop in early July. I know it differs from base to base, but I was wondering if anybody knew a rough estimate of the current ops tempos on the heavy side. If you could throw in specific examples (ie specific base deployment rates) that would help out a bunch. Just want to make an informed decision of what jet I put down and I have a feeling that those out there actually doing the mission could give me more accurate info than the brief we're going to receive from those who have been around the training squadron for a while. Thanks.
