Standard. Give them 6-9 weeks to form a committee that will make a recommendation to form an approval committee to release a recommendation to the AETC/CC in 6-9 months...it will sit in his exec's inbox for an additional 6-9 weeks and be denied due to improper memo formatting...

Don't hate the player, hate the game. I'm a few months into a year long TDY en-route and have not had a single accrual go through yet. Been a huge mess. I already had to pay a couple hundred out of pocket to reinstate my GTC in order to not pay for lodging out of pocket. I really look forward to 'not being responsible' for this: Everyone that I've dealt with has been doing their job. I have no complaints about the people. The system however, is broke. Everyone knows it. The AF knows it. But yet they hold you and I to the flames, declare us fiscally irresponsible, ect if our GTCs go overdue because WE haven't been paid for the vouchers we've put in on time. That's just f'd up to the 10th degree. /preaching to the choir

Thanks for this. It gave me an excuse to get some more rounds.
  7. Source: non-shit leaders who know how to distinguish between a dirtbag who doesn't file vouchers and a dude who files his voucher and has to deal with other agencies fucking it up. Keep the boss informed and take care of your end.

If you are TDY enroute you can go into mission critical status and have 120 days until you have to pay. If that is not enough time you can extend the mission critical status another 120 days (in certain situations). You can get mission critical status for a number of different reasons and it makes things a lot easier on you because you don't have to worry about being late or having extra fees.
  9. Ridiculous that it was removed in the first place. And yet, some people still think that the AF 'doesn't have any heritage'.... Well, jesus, this is exactly why.
  10. Another great video courtesy of Vance, the first 2.5 minutes is a little rough but the rest is gold.
  11. Depends on what you think you'll use your logbook for. Most airlines and similar have a correction factor to account for this. FedEx, for example, adds .2 to each military sortie. So in that case, you'd be better off having the .mil time logged our way. If you won't be applying for a place that uses a correction factor, you might be better off logging the civilian way. I log military flights the military way and civilian flights the civilian way, then I'll add the correction factor if I can or need to. The difference likely won't make or break your application.
