  1. You can shop at walmart or any of the 10 malls too... Change your dependent's PCM to an off base provider for free because of the driving distance. Shop and sams or costco to save money. Commissary isn't cheap when factor in no tax on food off base, tipping the baggers and the surcharge. BX is a rip. Creech has a clinic for your regular medical/dental needs. Creech has a MPF. What are you driving to Nellis for? To eat at the club? Sounds like Holloman/Cannon would be a perfect assignment for you.
  2. I say don't change the bag. I don't trust he AF to get it right. Bag wearers will end up with some retarded version sporting the ABU pattern with retarded pockets and a shitty fit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. All locations have shit that people complain about. Charleston has bad traffic and is too humid, it's always raining in Seattle and You never see the sun, England and Alaska are fucking too cold, blah blah blah.. Hell Honolulu has some of the worst schools in the nation/insane traffic and people complain about island fever Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Nobody lives at Creech.. everyone lives in Vegas. If you ignore the drone mission I think most people would think it's a choice assignment unless they hate sunny skies and dry heat. Creech has a ton of RPA units while all the other locations have what 1 sq per MDS? Odds are people would do prisoner exchanges between Vegas and the other bases IF they stay in. Do people really hate living in Vegas that much?
  5. I disagree on the exp but would rather not get into details in an open forum. I'm not sure if Holloman is the real issue either although it definitely doesn't help. Other communities have bad locations but it doesn't mean all the pilots separate as soon as they get an assignment there. Altus should be a manning killer for 17s and 135s if that was the case. what about all the dudes at Holloman who separate once they complete their ADSC there? The next likely step is to go to Creech but they would rather just quit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. The real problem isn't RPA operator "butt hurt" but rather that there is no retention once the ADSCs are up leading to zero experience in the combat units. I don't think the -22s have those kind of exp problems Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Well hickam is in 'Merica and the Brits have their own drone assassins. But I concur getting anyone to give a damn about drone operators is the real problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. The answer is simple. One base in hickam and the other in Mildenhall or ramstein/spangdhalem. Boom you just eliminated midnight shift while fixing the manning problem by creating two good deal locations. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Why stop there? Let's just build skynet but make sure the A.I. isnt THAT good.. then we can get rid of the whole military
  10. Sounds like you need to volunteer for a broadening tour in RPAs to get a break from your 4 on, 4 off deployment cycle. Talk to your CC I'm sure he can work an cushy drone assignment for you in the Spring VML. All these other "hundred" guys in the squadron are in the non-flying GCSs too. Manning seems to be always critical when virtually all your folks separate once they fulfill their ADSC. Such is the current drone squadron where you can count FGOs on one hand.
  11. who's going to sit in his nonflying GCS while the RPA guy is doing a nonflying deployment?
  12. However if you don't have an O-6 pilot reading your PRF at the promotion board then who is going to notice you didn't make MWS IP?
  13. I used milcomp for my MEI/CFII then took a checkride for my CFI add on. The examiner didn't ask me to do any spins.Page 21 of the Flight instructor PTS has a table with the required items for the check ride. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&ved=0CFsQFjAF&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.faa.gov%2Ftraining_testing%2Ftesting%2Ftest_standards%2Fmedia%2FFAA-S-8081-6D.pdf&ei=O5AWU8v6KYufrgGEzYAw&usg=AFQjCNGnb-2X9TukenM4sM8ihasAmSY8_g&sig2=91u5zrpwG3qWJ_tBqgKXfw&bvm=bv.62286460,d.aWM&cad=rja
  14. I'm hearing the same thing regarding summer VML being no good for requal slots. I'm hoping for an IPRQ this fall
  15. which MWSs are you guys going back to? I was told that I had 0% chance of getting a C-17 requal slot because there are none to be had in the summer vml
  16. I'm really confused. How do you show your colors by not taking the bonus? Does your CC have to sign something that states you decline ACP? To me it seems like a CC would have to take the time to look up your ADSC or add a column to his strat list for his exec to populate to get that visibility which I doubt is happening. Am I missing something?
  17. Interesting indeed but I don't see many of them taking up the offer. FAA just approved 6 RPA test sites for NAS integration. Shouldn't be hard to find a job on the outside with that particular skillset.
  18. Another vote for sheppardair on the ATP written prep software. Got a 96% following the directions.
  19. CAP might be a joke but their free flying hours aren't for dudes stuck in drone land.
  20. it's funny how drones can put everything into perspective
  21. luckless is hardly what I'd describe dudes stationed at AFA that get to fly for a living. The drive is about what uav guys do to operate drones at creech on a daily basis.
