Hey Finanace_Guy! I have a quick question for you: What's the deal in BAH and deployments? For example: If my husband is deployed, and I move back to CA, will I get the BAH rate from CA or NH?--NH, right? Now, if we were stationed overseas, and I moved to CA during a deployment, I would get the CA rate then, correct? For the record: You will be ending a monthly debate on my wifey forum about this subject :) I'm not looking to move home any time soon. Thanks!

Just wait.. We LOVED living on base. We just HATED Pinnacle. and we tried to avoid them at ALL costs.

Holy freaking hell... 1) I hope I didn't piss anyone off when I posted the drops from the tail end of FY08 to mid FY09. *shrug* 2) I'm blind. So, unless the planes were fyling low leavels, I couldn't tell them apart.. and I had a neighbor snap at me about that too. Oh well. I take it you lived in Hurst? :) I didn't mind living on base (pre-Pinnacle). I absolutely hated that bitch Dana. I did a happy dance when she was fired. I truly lived living on base. I lived the community that it formed. But I have Pinnacle, and I hate the new rules. Pinnacle totally screwed us over when we moved out. Frist: they were 2hrs LATE in doing our inspection. Why? Because the girl that was going to do the inspection quit the day before, and they didn't know about it. Then, when Jacey came nd did teh inspection, she ripped into us. Everything that Kat said we didn't have to worry about, she (jacey) got us on. Since Jacey didn't have the paperwork from Kat, there was no "proof" of what Kat told us. We can to give them a $150 check before we left. I was livid. I had to hide at my neighbor's house while this was going on.. I was NOT a happy camper!!!

You can only have a max of two pets, and there is a banned breed list. I was there prior to Pinnacle taking over, and I had my two German Shepherds and Rottweiler :) The good ol' days!

Well, that depends: If you HAVE to live in the dorms (it's mandatory unless the dorms are like 90% filled), then she can get an apartment off base. If you can live off base, get an apartment/house together. At Vance, there is a Student Officer Spouse's Club (SOSC), and GF's are welcome. I don't know about the OCS though. I can ask, I'm really good friends with the current President and VP's.

I want to say that my husband and his classmates still had their noses in the books the weekend after Track Select. As for family days: That depends on the Wing Commander. I want to say "yes, you'll get either Friday or Monday off." But, that just depends on the Wing King. Congrats on the engagment!

My mom was a fat ass, and flying with her (even when I was a kid) was always "fun." I think airlines should charge extra. Obviously, within reason to a person's height and weight, and if they fit into their seat or not.

Everytime I drive on to Portsmouth Shipyard, me/the veh is saluted. I know better then to salute back, but what the hell do I do? I asked my husband.. he told me not to wave, that it could be considered a "salute." He suggested saying "Carry on"--But, to ME, that's a command.. and I shouldn't be commanding them to do anything--Make sense? Another thing: The Gate Guards at the Shipyard are civiallian--Why do they salute in general?! I understand that most of them are prior military, but I just don't get it... I feel ackward when they salute, and I just give them the deer in the headlights look.. Thanks Guys!

Good Info to have! I currently have an AZ DL (it doesn't expire till 2049!) and my SUV is reg. in WA (my husband's home state!) I have, so far, moved twice, and I haven't changed anything. Since my DL doesn't expire till 2049, there really hasn't been a "need" for me to change either :)

Maybe if we did that here in the US, our crime rate would go down.

Yes, Tricare will send you to go see the Devil (I had to see a PT for 3 months!). If the PT is a DO, then the chances of them doing the bone cracking are much higher then the MD PT's. Or, there are PT's that aren't even MD/DO's. Some Chiropracters will offer a military discount, since they know the tricare wont cover the cost, and since you are a "cash" pay patient, it usually isn't that expensive.

Tricare does not cover chiropractic medicine for spouses/dependents at all. It's all out of pocket if they want to see them. Tricare Overview

I was a senior in High School. By the time I knew what was going on, it was already 12pm NYC time. See, I lived in CA, and oddly enough, I didn't have my radio on, nor did I turn it on when I was driving to school. I remember going to my econ class, and everyone was "normal"--I remember the class clown asking about "What happened this morning, I think we should talk about it.." and my teacher saying "My sister is an AA flight attendent, and we don't know where she is. This probably affects me more then you guys.." I asked my neighbor, Bob, what was going on, and he said "I don't know." I walked to my Modern Lit class, like normal. And my teacher had the TV on and was bawling. I asked her what was going on, and she told me.
