July 26, 20169 yr Pawnman, I think matmac was talking about the old whiting pilot trng program, not the Pensacola Nav err CSO school.

Not true. At least not at DLF. There have been a few "multiple CRs" typically 1 phase 2 and 1 phase 3. There is by no means a free pass on your first CR.

Is the lack of RPAs twice in a row just a coincidence or are they actually trying to move away from giving those in UPT drops?

August 8, 20169 yr The word was that 16-12 would be the last to drop RPAs so it sounds like they made true on their word. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 8, 20169 yr The word was that 16-13 would be the last to drop RPAs, however neither 16-12 nor 16-13 actually dropped any at LX. As to why they were on our drop sheets, we assumed the Flt/CCs were messing with us.
August 10, 20169 yr wow those drops are sick! enjoy it boys and girls you're dropping in the good times!

August 14, 20169 yr I agree. "Best seen to date" is now 100% accurate on grade sheets. Or "Best seen today" would probably be more accurate.
August 14, 20169 yr Or "Best seen today" would probably be more accurate. And it was my first student sortie...

Last we heard from our OG (this was 1-2 months back) was that due to the fighter crisis AFPC was trying to route all eligible FAIPs to fighters and none to bombers. Since then we haven't heard squat. The F-35 guys got their assignments early due to the 35 B-Course starting this fall, the rest of us are still waiting.
August 23, 20169 yr I heard since these last couple student classes coming through have been stocked full of "incredible hands of gold" (why else would they all get fighters) that they were going to let FAIPs soak up all the Buffs... Kidding. I love you FAIPs.
August 27, 20169 yr An interesting one at Laughlin tonight: XL 16-14 3-4 x KC-10s 1 x C-17 1 x J-STARS 2 x U-28 2 x T-6 FAIP 1 x B-1 1 x A-10 2 x F-22 Might have missed one or two.
August 27, 20169 yr The C17 community (can't speak for any other airframe) has been searching for volunteers to cross flow to fighters. It will be highly selective and even T1 guys can go for it if they want. Also the C17 was considered overmanned on paper so classic Air Force shut off the pipeline and way overshot the mark. Now there is a shortage of copilots and the community is as busy as it has been in a very long time. Some copilots are maxing out hours for the month, post mission crew rest is being waived, and new guys are getting ~400 hours in the first 6 months. Lastly no RPA's will be given as second assignments to C17 pilots for the time being.
