Closest thing to that here at Sheppard is the infamous bus. Last I heared, it's in the hands of ENJJPT class 06-07. They dropped a new engine in (old one seized due to oil starvation), and cleaned it up. Now it's painted with surplus T-38 paint in the current paint scheme. They even got the official stencils for the tail number (0607), EN and NATO flash on the tail. Walk around the bus, and you'll see all the standard ejection seat rescue symbology and decals that you'd find on a T-38.

Pretty hilarious. Someone must have had some MX hookups to make it happen. It looks great.

The FAIPS at Moody had a "short" bus that was painted like a T-6 (kind of). Don't know if it is still in action though.

That reminds me, the IFF guys also have a limo. It is usually parked just outside the squadron bar entrance.

Fans,

The first thing that came to my mind when reading your name was Duran Duran. Trust me, that's not a good thing. :D

I saw some video awhile back of some dudes that made up one of those kidnapper vans or Mr T vans to look like a Hog. It was pretty sweet. They had kegs for the engines and I think one person even strapped himself to the hood or something like that for the cockpit...pretty crazy if you ask me since they were flying (driving) around the desert.

My B course bought an ambulance and painted the thing up like the A-Team van. Since our squadron was the Lancers, it become the Ambulancer. Here's our class photo with the vehicle.

It was totally souped up - PA system that could blare not only the horn, but whatever music we popped in the deck (somebody downloaded the A-Team theme song...that was always good). We rigged up an alternator to power a TV, VCR, and Playstation in the back (I recall Animal watching porn in the O'Club parking lot when the WG/CC walked out one Friday night). Also, there was a hatch near the back that was conveniently about the size of a cooler. It was not without incident, however - here's my crewed WSO after drinking a couple bottles of wine and several shots of Scotch (that's wine-laden vomit on the floor as everybody tries to escape the frag pattern). If you look past Jimmy the Wino you can see the entertainment center.

The other F-15E FTU (334th FS "Eagles") has a car as well. We got into a little rivalry with them and some thievery occurred. They finally called a knock it off when we stole their car, drove it down to EOR, removed all the wheels, and left it with this sign.

The first person to see it was the Eagles squadron commander when he led a four ship to EOR the next morning.

This 79 Dodge van at D-M puts them all to shame...

Featured in the Hawg Wild (04-ABD's manual bombing competition) video.

But the 334th machine is pretty sweet. What is that, a Pontiac?

Cheers! M2

I'm proud to say I had a hand in the creation of the Ambulancer, the removal of tires on the Eagle-mobile depicted above, the "Jimmy the Wino" performance that you all wish you hadn't seen (Toro, please send me all associated pictures), and the creation of that sweet ass bus at Columbus...which everyone assumed was cursed and has since been regretably returned to civilian duty.

The "entertainment center" is to the left of the TV, right? I can't seem to recall who was riding in the jump seat of the Ambulancer in the post "Jimmy the Wino" photo. Of course, I've never claimed to be good with names! Little help, Toro?

By the way... I think the Wing King enjoyed our choice of viewing material that fateful night. It was a little tough to believe he was upset since he hung out and watched for 20 minutes!

Are you kidding me? We don't let that beast into our car. It's bad enough that he $hits all over the main briefing room.

Here is the short bus at ENJJPT, resurrected by class 06-07. The previous owners ran it out of oil and seized the engine. With the knowledge of a classmate and the help of auto shop folks we put in a new engine. Afterwards we were lucky enough to get it in to the bus paint booth and give her a 38 paint job. We used the actual paint they have on 38s - Sherwin Williams carried the mil specs, and we got the decals they put on the jets as well. It seems everyone was more than happy to help us out.

It was a fun project and apparently chicks dig guys who ride the short bus. It comes standard with an emergency door buzzer, operational flashers, loudspeaker (including ice cream truck tones), and pitot tube...just remember to blow in it for the pre-drive checklist!
