January 21, 200619 yr A recent post with the Shangri-la nose art got me goin, so if any of you have some swingin nose art pics, post away. I want dames with nice sets of wheels, patriotism that fills my young little heart, and humor that busts the gut. Cheers, Stuck
January 21, 200619 yr For a bunch of other F-15E nose art from OIF (unable to be linked due to copyright protection from Hacker), click here: Strike Eagle.com Ref Photos then click on 'NoseArt' under the Reference Photo Title. Cap-10
January 21, 200619 yr Is noseart something they keep on the jets even after they come back home from combat? In today's PC-stricken military I would think that kind of stuff would be considered unnecessary at the home base. Thoughts?

January 22, 200619 yr Posted without permission of the dude in this pic, but it was already on this forum anyway... As an avid enthusiast of the 4 FG in WWII (I even went to the old airfield in Nov 2004, but it is now a British Army base and access is pretty limited; but there is a plaque in honor of the Eagles!), I thought this was a great choice in nose art! Cheers! M2
January 22, 200619 yr Is it just me, or is it possible that Randy is the illigetiment son of Ed Rasimus? [ 22. January 2006, 00:12: Message edited by: tms320 ]

January 25, 200619 yr When the 926th FS Cajuns came home from DS, they left their "art" on the airplanes for sometime. The Chopper Popper sits on a pedestal at USAFA as I write this. I will always think the 47th FS Hawg Nose will beat those Shark Teeth from the old England AFB/Pope AFB units.

January 26, 200619 yr Here's what happens when you divert your F-15E into an unnamed A-10 base in the AOR and leave it unmanned at the mercy of the Hawg drivers.
January 26, 200619 yr Cheers! M2Flown this jet many times. When the 926th was part of our Wing they sent their A/C to BAD to prep for DS. We had 3 paint jobs with the old green, a different grey and a sand camo that was really cool. MX then added a little "subdued" blood on the Hawg teeth and made the eyes look bloodshot. AD didn't want USAFR showing up better prepared to fight so they went back to one color, the grey scheme our guys had was not like the one they have now, don't think I can find any pics but they are out there.
January 26, 200619 yr B-1 nose art Here are some cool B-1 nose art pictures...some have been renamed, however. (ie. GA and KS guard units)
January 6, 200817 yr Rush Makes His Mark on Hercules Pretty cool. Too bad we can't get away with this stuff.
January 6, 200817 yr Pretty cool. Too bad we can't get away with this stuff. Do you guys think nose art will ever make a comeback in out Air Force? Why the hell not? Edited January 6, 200817 yr by tollfree969
January 6, 200817 yr Do you guys think nose art will ever make a comeback in out Air Force? Why the hell not? gunships and Stewart C-5's have airbrushed nose art
January 7, 200817 yr Pittsburg and Maxwell have a couple planes with state specific nose art. How about the Greek. Hellinic AF
January 7, 200817 yr I was at KBAD when they decided to put nose art back on the 52s. You want to talk about a screwed up program. All new nose art had to be approved by God and it couldn’t depict war, death, or women. What’s left? They also used giant stickers instead of paint. They were printed in two or three different sections that had to be perfectly aligned when applied to the plane. The only thing they did right was letting the Crew Chiefs pick the nose art.
January 7, 200817 yr gunships and Stewart C-5's have airbrushed nose art Really, I gotta check that out the next time I'm down in Newburgh. Our birds have them too, but more like side art, as opposed to nose art. The art is just aft of the crew entrance door under "US AIR FORCE"
January 7, 200817 yr Do you guys think nose art will ever make a comeback in out Air Force? Why the hell not? 1. No 2. Because there are too many PC shoeclerks in high places. Humps

January 7, 200817 yr Our crew chiefs would put nose art on our birds while we were in the desert. Granted the images weren't nearly as entertaining as they could be, but they still had to come off before the birds came home. HD
January 8, 200817 yr When did your LC's get painted/stickered? I got to help out in 04/05 and don't remember seeing any with art on the ice. Yeah they went on in late 2005, just after I got back from UPT.
October 20, 200817 yr We need to start a good grassroots effort to allow us to paint nose art on the back. Obviously, there's no way in hell they'll let us put anything racy on the back and wear it in uniform. BUT, as an example what would be wrong with all HH-60 folks being allowed to paint the standard Jolly Green Patch on the back. I'm thinking if every community came together and came up with a design that paid tribute to heritage, and was totally PC and optional, what would be that problem with authorizing it? I think we might actually have a shot at getting that passed. Am I smoking crack?
