Yeah it was my first choice. I think it also helped that the board knows my wife will be starting med school close to Columbus in sept so they prioritized getting me Columbus.

Buddy just got Laughlin 15 May IPT 20 Oct UPT. Good chance they're going down the list and loading assignments alphabetically.

Glad to see class dates are starting to trickle out though. I really thought with the shutdown it’d all be on hold.

Last year’s forum theorized that assignments were loaded based on merit, like those will more competitive packages were given earlier class dates. No idea if that was true. I’ll report my last initial when my dates are loaded lol

Possibly, but then wouldn't we have heard about assignments for the ENJJPT folks first? Maybe they've already moved onto bigger things and don't associate with us lowly UPT selects lol

Anyone else just sitting here refreshing CDB on vMPF every 5 min lol? I'd imagine it probably flows --> anyone with humanitarian consideration --> anyone coming up close to Age restriction --> then alphabetically and/or merit based

To that point my buddy did have an age ETP. Probably wanted to get that dinosaur his wings before he turns into jet fuel.

I do know there are some people that didn’t volunteer for enjjpt that were pretty competitive. So I don’t think that has much weight. Also the Enjjpt pipeline is backed up as well. I know a few people there that waited over a year to start.

Yesterday I had received an email directly from the rated accessions training manager and told me that I would have an RNLTD of March and class start date of April at Laughlin. Nothing officially in my CDB but I was told I should get an assignment notification in by the end of the week. My last name also starts with an A, so alphabetical assignment uploads could be possible.

Not by last name unless they started that recently. I knew a guy who started two months before me with a name at the end of the alphabet. Order or merit might be a thing or it might not but alphabetical probably isn't it.

One of the dudes at Creech just got his dates yesterday. That’s cool the rated manager emailed you directly since you would move next month. Praying I move in March as well!

Thanks! How was IPT, and is there any way we can influence where we go? Peachtree is my most desired spot, it’s right next to home

Did you and your class feel ready for T-6s after IPT?

I was in the second ever class of IPT at Peachtree. There were a significant amount of growing pains associated with IPT. Those should be ironed out by the time you get to where you’re going. IPT is good for bonding with your class, and getting your hands warm. There is some negative transfer with the G1000 and the legacy instruments of the T-6. Checklist usage at civilian flight schools is much more lax than in a military environment.

IPT was cool. I got my Multi and instrument out of it for free.99. Where you go is luck of the draw. You can take strategic leave when you get to CAFB to align yourself with a IPT location you desire. But even then it’s not a guarantee as they fill classes as you arrive. You may get back from leave and the class you’re trying to get into is already full. It’s a little chaotic with casuals down here. Lots and lots of first assignment LT’s are waiting to start training.

Man hopefully they make the IPT locations less of a crapshoot then that, I was under the impression we would find out our IPT location at the same time as UPT location.

Likewise was picked up during the 2025 board and did UPT at Vance. Can't answer any IPT questions as I was in one of the last classes on the 2.5 syllabus but graduated T-6 UPT last week and am currently in academics for the T-38. Open to answering any questions you guys might have about UPT or Vance!

Nice! That would be my first choice for IPT because it’s only a couple of hours from my family and my in-laws.

At this point, I’d gladly take any info on an assignment. My spouse is now at risk of losing her job because, even though it’s a very transferable job, she’s essentially useless to her company until we know where we’re going and they can assign her projects in that region. 😩

So we don't find our IPT location when we get our RIPs just UPT? How was your buddy able to pull that for you?

Is IPT a TDY from the UPT base? Or do you go en route to your base?

No, we won’t. It sounds like you can strategically take leave when you get to your UPT base to try to be slotted in an IPT class at a different location, but that still may not work in your favor/may not be approved.

You'll PCS to your UPT base, in-process then TDY for IPT. Similar to how it was if you didnt have a PPL and went to IFT except now everyone goes to IPT and its 5 months not 1-2
