Not yet, and I’m not sure they will with the number of applications.

This post just gave me the impression that they’d heard from the recruiters that they’d sent notification to selectees.

Ooh sorry, I misunderstood you. In any case, hopefully they do get back to us so we can delete those YouTube videos already, lol.

Now I'm gonna go ahead and clean up all these random downvotes that just rolled through here...

Anyone know if our favorite Buckley applicant got the call?

Possibly misunderstood him though.

they probably already notified their selectees. And it's just us 3 in here quibbling about if they sent them yet

I have 0 views on my youtube video. My app didn't even make it past the initial screening to get my video watched haha. Why am I even trying for fighter units, life would be so much simpler if I just applied to heavy units 🤪

Have you gotten any feedback from anybody on your application package, whether it be board members or people around here?

I can tell you that no notifications at all have gone out yet since our Ops are split right now from a delay in getting people back from a TDY to Europe.  I'm expecting to send out everything tomorrow.

@BadGuySplash, PM me your youtube link.  I personally watched every video and read every application, so if one fell through the cracks I want to know about it.  It could be that youtube just hasn't updated the ticker in realtime, though.

With over 100 applicants, figures they would've been bogged down. @BadgersUPT In any event, thanks for the heads up, always appreciated!

Best wishes to all of us who applied!

Good luck my guys!!!

So.... has anyone heard from Wisconsin yet?

Wait 'till end of day

@KingKid Don't know if its my place to say anything, but I'll do it anyway... Worrying is not going to add anything more than grey hair to you (if you don't already have some 😅). As far as personalities are concerned, from the fighter pilots (and pilots I've met in general) there is no cookie cutter type out there... just a bunch that loves flying and worked their tails off to make their dreams come true (again just from my experience). Just be yourself and really if it's meant to be, you'll find a home, even if it's not with a fighter squadron... life isn't over if you fly heavies (you're still flying AND serving your country :usa:), they love what they fly as much as the fighter guys.

Recruiters are just the clearing house for the apps, making sure everything is in there. Once deadline is closed and they compile the packets, they pass them to the squadron. Once the board selects the candidates, the selectees are put back into contact with the recruiters to get more paperwork completed and to be ushered along in the enlistment/commissioning process.

We don't even let the recruiters touch the packets until we've decided who we're going to interview.  If you are applying to the Louisiana ANG and you aren't talking to a pilot, you aren't actually applying.  Recruiters don't recruit pilots.

Nope.

For those that haven’t checked their email, Madison sent a courtesy message to applicants letting us know that the notifications have been pushed back a few days due to the delayed return from their TDY. They said expect decisions before the weekend and it sounds like we can expect mail either way.

Thanks @BadgersUPT for the update!

I guess every unit does it different. We have always talked to the prospects and let them visit/hang out. We announce our boards thru Recruiting, who puts out the formal announcement that we write. Using Recruiting allows us to screen folks even more since all ANG ascensions have to pre-qualify and the recruiters are the expert there. When we write the announcement, we put our requirements in there as well as the recruiters putting the basic requirements in. We let them compile the packets and then we decide who we want to interview. Keeps a lot of extra work off our plates and leta the folks that are the experts in the paperwork do their job.

The anxiety after applying to your first board is real!

Anyone hear from Wisconsin yet?

Just give it until the weekend. I'm sure they'll send out notifications to everyone around the same time, they've been exceptionally communicative thus far.

I'll be spending my time polishing up my app to Alabama in the meantime, no sense in worrying about what I can't control after all!

Rejection emails have gone out for Wisconsin. Congrats to those who were selected!

Yep just got mine.

That bogidope consulting service is starting to look mighty enticing.

Was about to go to bed and checked, I got mine as well, really wishing I’d paid for the consulting.

I made some mistakes that a couple of guys on here have helped me fix for my upcoming submissions, so hopefully that makes a difference for these upcoming boards!

Congrats to everyone that got an interview and good luck!

Definitely, I hope so too! Plus they offered to give us feedback, so hopefully that'll help us out.

Between that and all the excellent communication they've provided, they seem like a pretty rad group of dudes. Big congrats to whoever gets picked up!

Now to finally delete that video!

Hi guys,

So I've been lurking on this page for some time since I found out about it. Now I'm in need of a little bit of help if you guys wouldn't mind. I saw on the BogiDope site that the reserve unit at MacDill is having a board in November and I really want to apply. Unfortunately the ad on Bogidope doesn't really have any info as to what the package should consist of. All it says is to send resumes to their email address. I've started looking at all of the other listings just to see what the most constant parts of a package are and I was just going to build a package based off of those. So far the things I have are:

Cover Letter, Resume, Letters of Rec, Transcripts, AFOQT/TBAS scores, Last 3 EPRs (I'm currently enlisted AD), and any pilot ratings/hours info.

Do you all think this will suffice for a package where they have no info as to what it is they actually want? Also, I'm not quite sure how to move forward with the resume and cover letter. All the other parts are pretty self explanatory but I'm not sure how to format or even start with those two. Anyone willing to help me out with that? I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Thanks.

If you just send your resume, maybe update it and include your AFOQT/PCSM scores and flight time/licenses.

That way you’re giving them what they requested, but it has the information you know they’ll want as well.

General PSA...

The number of sh!tty cover letters and resumes I've seen is ridiculous.  If you're sending a resume, it should include a cover letter.  Research what makes a good cover letter.  Double check the grammar and spelling.  Everyone knows you've wanted to fly a jet since you were little or it would be the best job ever.  The cover letter should summarize your qualifications and highlight what will set you apart from others, or suggest why you will succeed in the pipeline.  Get the unit right.  Dont confuse the SQ # with the Wing #.  Do some research on the job you're applying to.  You can easily include test scores, miscellaneous training, flying times into your letter (if thats all you're sending).

For resumes, again, attention to detail.  Action/Impact/Result format works well.  Dont mix tenses.  Make it clean and organized.  Objective/Career Experience/Education/Security clearance/flight experience/skills/awards/etc.

I've seen so many people just take the sample cover letter that units post and slightly modify it... give me a break.

From a majority of what I've seen.. if it was for a corporate job, I wouldn't hire them.  Disorganized, no attention to detail, looks lazy.  You're applying for the best job in the world, make it look like it.

Oh man, a YouTube video as a requirement? Instead of hero shots, we have hero videos now? 😂
