I'm supposed to hop a flight to Survival from CRP on Sunday.

I was thinking of changing my plans to SAT, one other guy already did.

I don't really think SAT is going to be in any better shape, but it's too early to tell.

I'm gonna go over to the Laredo area and wait until Sat night, and see if an airplane can land and take off from CRP on Sun morning.

Who knows...all I do know is the line at my gas station was LONG!

The ATM did give me $300 bucks still though, that was nice.

CNN is predicting Five dollar gas as a fallout. If anything good came from Katrina, it's that people are heeding the warnings and leaving the storm's path in massive numbers. As of now Rita is ranked as the third strongest storm ever recorded.

It has a long time to move over nice, deep, warm water...I look to see it move up in the ranks much faster then Barry Bonds...

I'm leaving tomorrow night, west...

YES, I am sleeping in CC tonight.

Oh boy.

Toro, good article.

I still drove with the "increased" gas prices, about 2000 miles.

It sucks, but we need to have the "BIG PICTURE."

I'm going to drive a litte more to get out of the way of the wind.

When gas prices hit 8 dollars...I'll vote differently.

Hell, I might just go all mercenary at that point!

I am in N. Houston as we speak getting ready to ride this thing out. People are taking this very seriously.. I-45 which is a major thoroughfare between Houston and Galveston is taking 10 hours to go approx 100 miles. Right now it is predicted to hit between Galveston and Matagorda Bay (spairing

Corpus), but we shall see. It is going to be an interesting few days here.. The main thing is my cooler is well stocked with water and

I saw on the AF website that they issued a stop movement to all of the bases in the surrounding area (ie, NAS Corpus, Kingsville, and that other one....)

Hopefully that will be done away with by the time I'm done with water survival next week.

They just lifted the Mandatory evac for Corpus, "Come back to work on Monday."

Corpus is sunny and calm as of right now, looks good.

Looks like Houston might get some rain and a little wind. I bet there's some general media-fueled hysteria working as part of the fall out of Katrina, but Houston is not situated precariously 12 feet below sea level with crappy levees holding back a big, dirty lake overhead. Neither is Beaumont or Port Arthur. Plus they're ready for it, and the non-democrat local and state gov'ts aren't going to hinder rescue efforts. Vastly different. I just hope the sensationalism is kept to a minimum (ain't gonna happen, but whatever), damage isn't too bad, and the oil people can get right back to work driving down the cost of gasoline. And also, we should do away with OPEC.
