January 29, 200817 yr It's not so much the camera on the tail that most pilots will not like, but the camera in the cockpit. Is it a replacement of the CVR? Look above the center jumpseat, and you'll see it.

Interesting that both seats have NWS tillers. IIRC, Airbus uses the same cockpit layout on all their models (other than the A300). Also, I think the A340 has the tailcam as well. The display has boxes to signify where the gear is, and IIRC it'll project lines to show where the gear will track based on NWS displacement. Handy feature for jockeying an A340-600 through tight taxiways, I suppose. I saw the A380 depart Dubai Int'l after the airshow last year.
