Early in my career my crew spent a couple weeks at Clark, off-base, with a broke plane; I couldn’t imagine the environment when it was an active duty base...

I think through all my time in SE Asia I’ve spent about 16 months in the PI, to include quite a bit of time Angelas City and Olongopao. Considering how crazy it is now, it’s hard to fathom what it must’ve been like back then.

I’ll add you one better.... it was an accompanied Duty Station.

i can only imagine the F’d up skew of reality you’d have to be in to bring your wife and kids to that place.
