So true. Sorry to hear the crappy news.

I don't care, I'm going to apply and then reapply. I know I will get turned down, but I don't care; update your f**king spreadsheet with that metric.

Exactly. And because SAF/PC is refusing to approve almost all Palace Chase Apps outside of 6 months, many guys I know are saying screw the Guard/Reserves, I am done with this garbage all together. If they would start being reasonable with PC approvals, guys would stay till retirement in the ARC, instead we lose them forever.
I was thinking this exact thing just the other day, is it better for me to try and Palace Chase and get hired by a Unit of which "we're not hiring" seems a common refrain; or just finish my commitment and make a clean break.

All this talk about the bonus and why we serve and here I've been sitting in a waiting room for the past hour to get my wife a new ID card. Would 1,000 extra a month cure this? Would 5,000? I've been in 10 years and it always gets more painful. If I hear "my system is down" or "they just updated our system and lost all your information" again I'm going to go nuts. "Let's just give the pilots more money, that'll do the trick." One word, WRONG!

Why don't we just stay in private villas off base, with 24 hour security? Apparently thats what all the cool kids are doing in Afghanistan...

Yup
I don't fault the President for wanting to disengage from the Middle Shithole but our dependence on the flow of oil to the global supply system doesn't allow that like it or not we or another global power will be the patron / guarantor of the various states as grouped by ethnicity or Islamic denomination - pick a side don't try to be friends with both sides because that's not possible and support as required to keep the crazies at bay when the oil runs out leave a note saying thanks for everything and GTFO
Didn't we become the World's largest producer of oil last year?
If Russia wants to deal with it, let them deal with it, we can handle over watch in Iraq and help the Kurds, at least we know they're cool.

Are they going to have 10 year commitments too? What about retention bonuses when they start jumping ship because the civilian sector is paying them triple what the military is? Okay so I basically summed up the TLDR above...

Gotta admit, she's lookin pretty good...

I wouldn't say that's the way I "see" C-17s. I know those guys have other, much more important jobs than bringing in Rip-Its. I'm just saying, they always seem to have more Rip-Its than they know what to do with, and if you are friendly with them, you can get some of the overflow. It was pretty easy for us to make friends with them, since the B-1s and C-17s share a building.
Fair enough. Never had a problem with the B-1 guys (actually been a really good relationship), just recent issues not B-1 related, seem to point to a, "what can we get from the C-17 bubbas?" We try our best to help everyone out when something is needed, and share what he have as do others. I understand at every level you become a support agency of some sort. There is however a distinct line between hacking the mish, and hooking people up. Thanks for the clarification.

I like to think of C-17 pilots as dudes in tuxedo t-shirts. They are here to be formal but they like to party. I like to party so I like my C-17s to party.
Fair assessment.

You gotta make friends with the C-17 bros. The DFACs didn't have Rip-its, but I never lacked for them during my stay.
Correct me if I'm reading you wrong, but if that's the way you see the 17's that's messed up. You currently deployed? We may have reached bingo.

This whole eligibility thing is screwy, why couldn't the AF just a do away with bonuses and contract extensions. They could then offer incentive pay for those crappy deals people separate for when they are given. Or those that accept crappy deals without incentive pay will self identify as "rank chasers..." Hell if the money was right I'd consider doing a 365. *bracing for mercenary comment* you could then wipe out an entire wing of AFPC and save literally millions...

Anyone know what the difference between a Nav and a homosexual is?
A: A homosexual actually has a future in the Air Force...

Altus got cleaned out today.

Military flying is a lot like golf. You swear you're done with it and then all of a sudden you hit a great shot and you remember why you love it in the first place.
Yes...

C-17 IP last week who had 5 years of his ADSC waived.
Hold the phone, what did you just say?

Did someone say strapon and then mention AMC? Oh the irony...

Do I remember him mentioning something about lingerie shows at the CHS club back in the day? IIRC he talked in a disgusted manner about it and all I could do was sit there, look around and think to myself; A: surely he wasn't talking about the same place I know (it forbids enjoyment) and B. Why couldn't I have been in 20 years ago?

From his first time on stage I heard which commander he was and immediately changed the mental channel; 97 can lights are embedded into the ceiling of that dungeon. There were some Sq/cc's there that seemed to be drinking his koolaid though. They at least loved to hear themselves talk...

Lol, good to know I'm among good peoples here in Montgomery. So out of curiosity from the new JQ public blog, what wing listed flying jets as it's 19th priority? Fess up if you know...

Dude, what's the problem, tell her she may as we'll go ahead and switch it because she's going to love it after her first year and wonder why she didn't switch. Took my wife all of three months. We're going back this summer for our 72hr requirement, and to get in some fishing.
AERO app
in General Discussion

Aero is crap, Foreflight with military EFB has everything you need and then some (okay it doesn't have jepps). Cost is pretty steep for the global kit but pays dividends in the off chance mobile iron has a glitch in its servers that automatically deletes aero from your efb and won't allow you to reinstall it and in a mad dash you reset your ipad to download but DISA won't allow you to get a new pin because they need approval from someone who takes Fridays off to issue a new pin because the new iOS drop is like a week out (which your efb is incompatible with)... Not saying anything like that would happen, just saying it could...
