    Have you ever heard him speak?

    <snip>

    I have heard him speak (in person), and he is a good speaker.  If you want to see how sharp his skills are on that, just Youtube his speech before congress, and the number of people he was able to call out by name and compliment them.  Our present POTUS is so far below Trump's skill level, no comparison can be made.

    Of course, he has actually said some jackass things, and I'm sure that's what you're referring to.  None the less, he is not stupid.

  2. Trump's only hope was going to be rational behavior until the election.  But, he has doubled-down on the clown (sorry).

    Defensive downward spiral?

    We should (for fun) be thinking up silly/jackass things he can do over the next couple of years to further distance people.  I'll start:

    A new superhero movie franchise, starring D. Trump.  What will his superpowers be like?  How many does he save, how many must die?

    Anyway, you get the idea - I've finally had it.

    Why don't we just ban Twitter?  It's harming so many lives.

    This question is less rhetorical than it appears.  I am very surprised we don't more idiots (I mean people) demanding a total ban on this very harmful, racist, and xxxphobic platform (now that the radical and violent right wing have control of it).

  4. Just to be clear, those of us with Chrome cannot access BO at all.  On Firefox (as you all know) one has to click through with an exception.

    Do we need a go-fund-me or something to pay for the new SSL certificate?  I will donate to that (or even pay for it outright).

  5. The question now - has Trump been vilified enough to affect conservative voters?  I refuse to say "MAGA Republicans," but that's who I'm referring-to here.

    If true, the there might have an opportunity to be successful in ghosting Trump.  Wow, is that even a good thing?  I liked the way he ran the country, but like Meghan M., he just won't stop being all about himself.

    To balance my post a bit, let me give you some of the lyrics from the old TV show:

    "And that's Uncle Joe
    He's a-movin' kind of slow
    At the junction - Petticoat Junction" (now known as the White House)

    Real. White House has since taken down the tweet.

    Yup.  For those of you who haven't followed this - the WH was outed with this as being patently false.  A.k.a., "We're so sorry this one didn't stick."

    Who knew inflation was caused by the war in Iraq?

    The more we progress here, the more frightened I get.  We had this "Iraq, I meant Ukraine" thing.  Then there was, "my son died in Iraq, that's why I said that."  After being introduced by the lovely Debbie Wasserman (a member of the house of Representatives), Joe thanked her for all of her help in the Senate.

    There was more, but this is all just from one event folks.

    Look for more unscripted Joe as we push towards the election next Tuesday.

    I like how you say the left has no tolerance for discussion, then gloss over the fact some dude from the right literally tried to kill the speaker of the house with a goddamn hammer.

    Yes, you did just drop the other shoe.

    It will be interesting to see how this plays out, (if different from the usual).  Wait, this will play out as usual, with the left saying something must be done with the "Right wing MAGA nuts."  Yep, that's the way they roll!

    Conservatives have to talk to liberals. That's the solution. Those conversations have to happen without all of the usual conversational violations that shut down any chance of consensus or persuasion. Some examples:

    Can only assume you are talking about a situation where that conversation is completely private?  Any public "discourse" will be instantly tainted by the press (both left and right), all the indoctrinees (public) will choose the the news that fits their indoctrination - and the whole thing will be dead in the water.

    "Set takeoff power!"

    "Uh sir, we don't have any engines, not even an APU."

    "Well, I was hoping."

    These are not people who love the country as I do & we can find a way to meet in the middle. These are people who literally want to abolish the white race (among other dangerous positions).  Has any population peacefully coexisted with such disparity in morality?  “Live and let live” has been usurped by “obey or be punished” for Democrats.

    <snip>

    The left has been indoctrinated to believe that the US is evil, and that we would be better without it (this country).  There are many people who are ashamed about the principles of capitalism and a representative republic.  For example, when I watch TV from say the BBC (in England), I get lots of nationalism and pride.  When I watch a documentary here (PBS is typical), I get lots of regret, revisionism and accusation.  How much punishment do I have to take as a US citizen - from my own people?

    Our left feels that US nationalism is completely evil, and needs to be eliminated.  The minor detail here, is that other countries have really strong nationalism, something out left tries to ignore.
