  3. Anyone that can chime in for Guard C-130s? I have utilized the search bar but have came across either old info (which I don't know if it would still apply today) or more of active duty stuff. I understand the term of "Guard Bum" but how much actual "bumming" can one do as a right-out-of-training guy/gal? Also, any details on the EC-130, Commando Solo folks from the PA ANG?
  4. Gotcha...i guess you might have a few days or so as exodus break. Would be worthwhile to go visit. I know I would.
  5. Congratulations bud! I have not heard of anything for this fiscal year yet. Based on what I've heard from many Guard guys, it is not very likely to get into a class in such a short timeframe...then again, there is always a possibility since the FY hasn't started.
  6. Anyone that can chime in regarding the EC-130J (Commando Solo) from the Guard side of the house? I know the EC-130 (Compass Call) was mentioned but nothing from the Guard end.
  7. You can always contact the POC and politely ask if there is another e-mail where you can send your information to. I would say that the main reason POCs do this is to filter the barrage of emails they receive regarding the hiring board. Option B would be to use the AMRDEC website as stated above. Best of luck!
  8. Makes sense now. I forgot about the airlines side of the issue. I just hope that wherever i'm hired I am able to obtain an AGR slot again, or at least a full-time slot.
  9. Got it. That makes sense, i'm stuck with rank as an enlisted AGR hence I was wondering if that was the main reason why slots would be hard to fill
  10. why wouldn't folks want to jump on that? Being stuck at a certain rank or why exactly do you say that? (just wondering)
  11. Gee, i was about to ask the same thing. I constantly hear Guars guys waiting almost a year before any dates. Sept sounds super fast. Now the question is....how far will UPT dates be?
  12. That's what i've heard as well. I knew a guy that deployed with them few years back and mentioned the same.
  13. I take it that you got an invite? Congratulations!
  14. Long time silent reader here on the forums, let me contribute to the community: 177 FW posted their selection boards dates. Sept UTA, 8/9. Packages due Aug 1.
  15. Awesome stuff man. I'm with you on what you said about Guardrservejobs. Just found this website a few days ago, and it's not blocked at work like GRJ...
  16. Thanks a lot bud! I'm just having a bit of a tough time finding studying materials for the Verbal section. I think the best find so far has been "cram.com" for uploaded flashcards. We'll see, hopefully it works out. I have one year left to get accepted somewhere.
  17. Got it! Well first of all, congratulations on the ETP! Thank you for believing the same thing I said when I saw the verbal score, "I can't be that bad." Anyhow, I did read somewhere about the AFRC unsponsored hiring boards I just don't know how I will be able to get a unit to "like me" besides the unit that I am in now for them to sponsor me. Good to know about the typical verbal score on other pilot candidates because the new test definitely seemed insanely difficult this time around. Fortunately enough, I'll be able to re-test again after the six-month mark. Turns out that my first score became invalid after the test changed in 2015 resetting the counter of the two examinations and allowing me to test once more. Nonetheless, I appreciate the information very much boss! Best of luck to you!
  18. As much as I hate to say it, a verbal score of 9. The part that sucks is that I know my "verbal" is not as horrible as the test makes it seem but apparently that's how it rated me.
  19. Hi all, Hopefully I'm posting this in the closest appropriate forum. I am currently enlisted in a guard unit and I have taken the AFOQT twice now. First time did ok to surpass the minimum of each section. The scores then dropped after the AFOQT exam changed back in 2015. Decided to take it this year and missed the verbal section's minimum. I am chasing the pilot side of the house, received an 87 in pilot and PCSM should go up to 93 (if I understand the chart correctly) with my current flying hours. Lastly, I am on my last semester for my Bachelor's degree. The question is, has anyone seen or heard of any exception to policy for missing one section of the AFOQT (verbal)? If so, how does it work? is it AFTER you're accepted for a UPT slot?
