Damn!
Can these aircraft be equipped with GCAS or would the system be rendered useless due to them flying so low already?

Dumb question, but are these planes insured?

A kill’s a kill.
I wonder if the technician gets a Belgium flag patch or have the flag painted on their tool box for the “kill”?

Must have been take your child to work day.... in all seriousness, aren’t there safety switches in the airframe that prevent the weapons systems from being activated while on the ground?

Before your first interview. No matter how good a person is at interviewing they can always polish it up a little more. And why wouldn’t you go the extra step with consultation? You’ve already put in all this work so far. I wish I had done consultation from the get go. Woulda saved me a lot of money getting hired after the first interview instead of after 8
I would listen to this poster...

Not 100% on this but i beleive the intent is if the interview doesn’t go well or other circumstances make the U-2 not a good fit, they will go back into the assignment pool for any CAF assignment.
More to follow. Should be interesting, and a great opportunity for the right person.
U-2 reservists (and T-38 CTP) to me has always seemed like a no brainer, but it’s been tabled for all the years we were sunset. The gears are turning now, i think it will happen eventually. Especially if we have any hope of retaining talent and experience in this current climate.
I’ll be a guinea pig for the reserves!

Thank you. I’ll be attending UPT as an unsponsored reservist and was hoping to be able to apply to the U-2 with the new program.
-
Dumb question here, but are there any U-2 reservist?
-
Glad the pilot ejected and hope he’s okay. I wonder if you get a special tie for being the first? 🤔

Rejection emails have gone out for Wisconsin. Congrats to those who were selected!

Step 1: Start out wide eyed and bushy tailed. Flying fighters/heavies/helos is the best thing you've ever done.
Step 2: Try to change the world.
Step 3: Get struck down for Step 2. Become disillusioned as the machine attempts to swallow you whole. (See: Monkey/Cage theory)
Step 4: Find a Guard/Reserve Unit and GTFO.
Step 5: Get hired by the airlines. Make a lot of money.
Step 6: Military flying becomes fun again because you're suddenly kevlar and a true volunteer. You don't care about changing the world and the feeling from Step 1 returns.
Step 7: ???
Step 8: Profit.
Step 6 sounds great, but you forgot step 9...

Out of curiosity, how often do aircraft in the military during formation touch wing tips and is there a procedure if it happens?

Valid point. Dumb question on my part.
