  1. I understand, I know C-17s are about to get hammered with a ridiculous ops tempo. My next assignment will likely be my last, and I'd like to get back and build time to prepare for my next career outside of active duty.
  2. You single? Having been at Creech for a year, I would gladly spend my next four at Altus. Accumulating IP hours in a heavy jet, instead of wasting my life "operating" the MQ-9. I can make anywhere livable with the fam.
  3. Those flying at Altus are still flying and that's the key. I was pulled out of my MWS and sent to Creech and I can honestly say if I'm sent to Holloman next, I will immediately try to Palace Chase and if unsuccessful I will punch at the end of my ADSC. I'm hoping the recent mass exodus of pilots in actual flying billets through VSP will create a vacuum that will require dudes like me to fill. I'd be disappointed if my active duty career ended before getting the opportunity to teach the next generation at UPT or going back to being an aircraft commander in AMC, but I have absolutely no desire to spend 8 years of my life in a shipping container.
  4. 2007 11M doing RPAs still waiting. This doesn't bode well for my chances, last time I felt like the only one standing without a chair when the music stopped then I got my denial e-mail two days later.
  5. So I figured if you had a separation date of 31 Dec and start terminal in early December, you would receive your VSP payment with EOM pay in December. Am I completely wrong in that? In the long shot that I'm approved, I was hoping to get an extension in order to push the payment into the next tax year, but if that's going to happen anyway I think I would rethink that.
  6. All retraining to be missile officers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hmmm, so much for 'No commander being authorized to delay any application submitted under this program.' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Has anyone else's VSP application made it past the wing/CC yet? Mine has been sitting on it since the afternoon of 22 May. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. This all makes a lot of sense. Those of us applying for FY15 VSP will have already separated by the above timeframe (31 Dec latest DOS). I wonder if these extensions will involve FY15 VSP as well.
  10. Pure rumor, but my squadron has been told to prepare for another round of across the board cuts later in FY15. With these programs already in place they will not be able to achieve the 18K reduction they want/need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. 2007 11M C-17 also in an RPA billet, sqdn CC recommended approval this time. SHOCKING. It's now sitting at the wing.
  12. 2007 11M, 474 eligible and they want to cut 26. Not good odds (5% cut) but you can't win if you don't play... My second VSP application was sent at 0001 central time this AM.
  13. Just as many of us thought, RPA stink seems to be bad for approval chances. So much for only looking at our RTDM code. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. How many are applying for VSP tonight? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Good question. Who wants to go through 6 more months of getting jerked around if they aren't going to cut any more? However, the SECAF's recent words allude to more cuts than what we are seeing right now. We had discussion a while back about the limited funds available for Force Shaping this fiscal year. The budget is much larger next year. I'm not sure we can rely on AFPC to update the matrices in time for the next VSP window so I have no idea what to do. The uncertainty over the past few months almost made my wife kill me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. 2007 11M doing RPAs at Creech just got my disapproval. FML
  17. Still nothing here. I called the TFSC yesterday and all the lady could tell me is 'Your VSP application is still pending.' I think she was looking at the denial and didn't have the heart to tell me. I can't believe we notify people of life altering news by e-mail now. It ranks right up there with the "Congratulations, you've been selected for a 365 ITDY to Kabul!" emails. I think the lack of approvals today is a bad sign. What little hope I have left is disappearing rapidly. Congratulations to all of those approved, I fear what life will be like after the exodus.
  18. All my friends have gotten approvals. I definitely feel like the fat kid who got picked last for kickball. I don't know if I can take waiting another week for the denial.
  19. ?? Don't know that I'm tracking. What I was saying is it shouldn't matter what your sqdn and wing CC say about your application. If senior leaders identify particular year groups and AFSCs to cut then it needs to be done regardless of what local commanders think. How many CCs are going to actually say they have too many guys? That just tells AFPC that they can do more with less. My CC definitely doesn't want me to go, but I'm holding on to hope that he has no say in the matter. They wanted people to leave and I volunteered. End of story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. That just proves that these decisions are made on a much higher level. Another good sign for the rest of us...
  21. Sweet! Hopefully the trend continues for 2007 guys. No denials on here so far, I take that as a good sign. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I thought 11/12 May was the big day? No wait, 7 March was the big day, or 16 May was the big day. I'm still waiting on my RIF pre-selection brief that was due to be sent to me on 14 May. Maybe Ops should start working TOTs this way. "You'll get your weapons effects whenever I damn well please!" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
