    Bonus: If you have a competent audiologist, the high def speaker test will have a "repeat this word" test, which is the result of a 30 year speech pathology study examining how hearing degradation impacts speech degradation as we get older.  Basically what we hear turns into what we say, and it's very subtle.  But once you hear it, you can't unknow it.  BTW yes, at 40 years old I became a hearing aid recipient.

    Interesting sidebar: After having personally gone through that audiology and speech pathology wringer, it is clear that our current president relies on lip reading, an ear piece, and is stone cold Boomer def.  The signs are easy to pick up once you know what to look for.  It sadly explains some of his gaffed responses...(that, and the outright lies...fo example his academic record...no hearing problem there)...definitely not an excuse, and frankly a reason he shouldn't be in office...but I digress.  God help us.

    TLDR: You can have horrible hearing.  So long as you can still do your job (i.e. your D.O. signs of that you can still hear the RWR tones), you're good to go.  H3 waiver takes about 3-4 months to process.  If you lead turn it, you'll never leave flight status.

     

    P.S. Tinnitus gets you 10%. Hearing loss gets you 0% (but they pay for your hearing aids every 3 years...supposedly)

    No shit, there I was a punk ass ENJJPT student back in the day when we had just switched from the Tweet to the T-6. Everybody referred to the T-6 as "the jet" and the biggest douche I've ever met as an IP (Dutch guy) would go out of his way to make the point that the T-6 wasn't a jet. He even always had the wikipedia page pulled up where he would contribute "not a jet" on the bottom of the page. Everyone that flew with him (including me) had a God awful sortie and got absolutely abused the entire sortie. I even had to no shit do an ICE-T calculation on a whiz wheel during an instrument eval with this guy.

    ANYHOW, I recently stopped at Sheppard recently as an O-5, DO, Weapons School Instructor and this fucking guy is back but now flying the T-38. It shook me. I was immediately transformed back into a scared B flight student trying to remember the pattern references. I felt exactly like Sara Connor in Terminator 2 when she's breaking out of the mental institution and Arnold comes around the corner. Truly one of the most jarring moments in my career because it was sooooooo unexpected. Or maybe I'm just a pussy. 

    Gotta wonder if he's still a douche....cause you know, once a douche, always a douche....

    There's a reason why there are literally "no go" arrondissements in Paris for the police.  Has been this way for over a decade and getting worse as a result of the lax immigration policies "enforced"?/embraced.  The "religion of peace" is incompatible w/ democracy contrary to what Islamists will tell you!  It is NOT a facilitator of democracy.

    Unit was fishing for volunteers to fly some cargo up to CYYT to help out w/ this "rescue".......after learning about the 250K per billionaire to journey w/ this outfit that didn't want to waste years getting the submersible properly certified, I said no thanks.  What a waste of resources.

    Yep, the amount of man hours/assets being utilized to execute this "rescue"? (more like recovery) mission, all in the interest of disaster tourism.  The Titanic sank, was found, photographed (all of which can be viewed online) and should be left alone.

    Problem is the weed smoked now is 10x more potent than the dope at Woodstock.  When weed is more readily available, it becomes like any other drug/pharmaceutical around the house, more available to kids.  Genie is out of the bottle on this one.  Will be curious to see any "negative" repercussions on these next gen stoners.....
