  1. I think the top one looks a a bit more traditional, I vote for that one. You can always ask the artist to put his personal touch on the art that way no one will have the same one. So you guys mean it's NOT cool to get your wings tattooed on you? (not above for the obvious)
  2. I was at IFS almost 2 years ago and everyone had the same program. Everyone has to go regardless of previous experience (a pain I know but it was worth it, keep a good attitude) There were a couple Nav guys in my class and we all had the same syllabus (meaning everyone went up for thier 20ish hours and did stalls/falls and ELPs). It was basically a PPL checkride. I've heard the syllabus has changed since I was there, but I'm not too sure how. Hope that helps a bit.
  3. So I've just returned to the Q at Altus after an evening of chillin with the bros at a BBQ off base only to find the parking lots of the dorms blocked off by SF. I roll down the window and say "Hey, I live in that dorm there (150 yards from present position) can I just pull in there and park my car?" SF dude tells me "No, we have something going on right now. You have to park down by the library." It's only like 2 blocks no big deal, but it's late and I've got a bunch of stuff that I have to carry back to the fridge. So I make my three point turn and go back to the other lot and hike back lugging all this crap only to find in the mean time all the SF d!@ks have left, leaving the road completely unblocked. Seriously. It was maybe 5 minutes tops. I couldn't have just parked my car and walked 10 feet into my room? These guys just love fu@&ing around with everyone whenever they get the opportunity.
  4. Negative. But I once contemplated getting the old school Hap Arnold AF symbol, never did it though. I do know people with USAF on thier arms or the new AF symbol.
  5. Out of curiosity. Has anyone seen/have an Air Force related tattoo that isn't considered gay? It seems like everytime someone comments on an AF tat it is negative. Just wondering.
  6. But look! Even Buzz Killington enjoys the pleasures of alcohol! EDIT: Found better pic
  7. Men's volleyball just got way cooler...
  8. Anyone ever seen the 2000 gem "Air Rage" starring Ice-T?
  9. T1 studs can drop 135s to Pease, Scott, Birmingham and March guard/reserve units as an "active duty liason". They started with class 09-04 with no word on if they are going to be options for subsequent classes or not.
  10. You shouldn't have to report it, but you could look to them for advice. I've worn Accuvue 2 since highschool, which is an approved brand, so I didn't have any trouble getting on the contact program once I got to UPT. I do know there is a 6 month minimum that you have to wear them before you can get on the program. Hope this helps!
  11. Wow, those are really amazing. Good find! It's always cool to see pics of the hometown from back in the day (which was a Wednesday).
  12. Anyone at Laughlin would say without hesitation that the only place to have a beer in town is at TB's. Unfortunately there is a nasty rumor floating around that they are closing down. Can anyone squash that one please!
  13. After that we did have a pretty solid foundation on what was expected as far as customs and courtesies goes minus a couple of SA lapses here and there, but that Cpt. made his mark on our class in a negative way. He definitely had a bad rep with everyone from that point on and it was never forgotten.
  14. I hope she is at least programmed to bring the guy a beer.
  15. It is a terrible time to be AD in UPT. I am about to graduate and I am seriously envious of our Guard/Reservists. Not only do they not have to worry about UAV/U-28 or RC-12, but they already know where they are going to be and what they are going to be flying. My class has a .5 point difference between then #2 Stud and the #13 stud out of 14 in the MASS. So if someone jacks up their NAV check they are going to go to Creech is what it comes down to. Guard dudes don't have to worry about it. If you want to fly a fighter I would say that the Guard side is the way to go as well. My class only had 2 American 38s track and 2 Portuguese. I think that the majority after my trach has been about three per class out of about 25-30 studs. From what Ive heard you will still have to be in the top half of your T-6 class to continue to the 38, but that is definitely achievable if you work/study hard enough. I'm only speaking for the flying side of things and not the AD experience, which is great...stressful but great. Just seems that life would be alot less stressful right now if I was a Guard dude.
  16. I was in a T-6 squadron at Laughlin up until August and in the 4 short months in phase 2 I've dealt with a couple of similar situations. I will never forget day one of UPT when a Captain came into the classroom to remind us to quiet down during a break from death by powerpoint and one of my fellow STUDS simply said "Sorry Sir, we thought the meeting next door was finished." He was immediately stood at attention and harshly reminded that he was speaking to an IP and that he needs to stand at attention when addressing superior officers. This all took place in front of the entire class and an A1C that was giving us our Life Support brief on day 1. Awesome. Throughout the rest of phase 2 there were a couple of similar occurrences simply because after 3 months of being on formal release everyone starts to get a little chummy. Especially some of the new FAIPS and the STUDS since we are so close in age/time since they were in our shoes. I have a feeling that what this DO saw was someone who was close to Track Select stepping to their jet with a FAIP who has been out of PIT for a short period of time. Big deal, it happens. If this was the case the situation should have been handled at the weekly FAIP Mafia meeting where they could have all been reminded about customs and courtesies over beer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I think.
