  1. New AUAB uniform regs released today. Highlights: No more reflective belts while in PT gear in the CC/BPC unless you are running on a road. You may also hang your sunglasses around the front of your neck. Also, no more saluting while in PT gear. However, while going out to fly, you may no longer wait inside the air conditioned PERSCO building for your bus/rest of your crew to arrive after you have emigrated out...you must now brave the heat and humidity for your bus/rest of your crew, and crew members will be processed one at a time making the whole dick-dance take 6-9 times longer.
  2. I need a little more time in the oven before that becomes an option.
  3. Checks. I've been TDY 35 days in the past 18 months. I have been deployed 290. EDIT: It also depends on which unit you end up at.

    Jokes/Fun at UPT

Be careful, if you label something as a tradition Big Blue is going to swoop in and take it away...
  5. I laughed at the last paragraph and sentence. We are afraid of the ladder HA!. to those dudes!
  6. The PDF I have says it will. Here is the link. http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/Nano_Quick_Set-up.pdf
  7. I got the Nanostation 2 from Amazon based on your recommendation. Thank you. It was a pain to set up, I didn't realize there were no instructions in the box until I was already here...and that I needed 2 ethernet cables (poor planning). I googled the setup guide from the Bra and downloaded it and got some cables. 20 minutes later I had connection and was cruising the interwebs. If you go with this antennae you may have to get creative with the placement in order to get a signal. I ended up taping mine outside to the AC unit...I hope it stands up to the heat/humidity.
  8. I don't even want to know what you typed in Google to find that picture... or was it already your desktop image?
  9. I showed up today in my red shirt expecting to get an earful and didn't hear a peep...as a matter of fact we never heard anything about the change all week.
  10. I'll beat the horse...I sat casual for almost a year and did nothing but answer a phone 3 days a week, hang out at TBs and drink beer, play golf and cruise around Lake Amistad. I had a blast. Hindsight being 20/20 I should have finished about 4 or 5 classes. I would be finished by now enjoying the time I have at home with my Wife rather than writing bullshit papers after work and on my Sunday afternoons. Get as much done as you can before UPT starts, but enjoy the lack of responsibility.
  11. No way. All pilots appreciate heritage (well, I'd like to think we all do) and that was a piece of it. So is the way of the Air Force...
  12. Budweiser aka Bud Heavy aka Diesel 7/10 I normally try to stay away from AB products because of I like to support small local breweries, however I was on the Beermaster tour at the St. Louis AB brewery and they let you drink straight from the finishing tanks. The entire warehouse is 30 degrees F and the beer had just finished brewing only 2 hours prior to hitting my lips. When in Rome. It was actually the best Bud I've ever drank, yet still only warrants a 7 because all of the great STL beers I had before that tour were better i.e Schlafly Summer and Morgan Street Stout. p.s. If you are ever at an AB plant that offers the Beermaster tour I highly recommend it. It's only 25 bucks a head and the tour experience itself is way better than the free one. And when it's all said and done you get about 6 beers out of it, 2 of which come straight from the tanks.
  13. I think my 14 year old cousin who has been held back in school three times wrote that article.
  14. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/06/04/hypnotists-on-stage-injury-leaves-three-audience-members-in-trance/?test=latestnews It is now being reported that one man later stopped caring about his job and was ironically promoted. He celebrated with friends by smashing an old copier and listening to rap music...wait a minute, that sounds familiar.
  15. This video accurately depicts my reaction to that link.
  16. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/US/04/06/maryland.toilet.prank/index.html?iref=obinsite Ok, with all sympathy in mind...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA But seriously, that stinks. No pun intended. (ok, maybe it was intended) Two good points were brought up in the comments: 1. He had a dirty butt when the paramedics pulled him off because he couldn't have wiped. 2. Super glue dries very quickly. Either he went in right after the perp (gross, use an effing seat cover...or hold it until you get home) or he glued his own fat rear to the seat so he could sue Wal-Mart later.
  17. Damn you gucci boys have it good, our "oven" never works and smells like crusty 50 year old government cheese. If you want to find our fridge simply peel back the insulation panels over the crew entry chute, but be careful at about 35,000 feet your Coke will freeze solid in about 2 hours.
  18. We can't hit the 10 above 250K. And I seem to have myself confused about the flap/altitude thing. I am going to blame Jack on that one.
  19. I'm not talking about accommodating the receiver...I'm talking about preempting a toboggan by climbing to the top of the block without being asked. You've never needed flaps for an A-10 or Herk at 249K gross weight?
  20. That is non-standard and is a foul. Most tanker crews are going to be at the fragged altitude with the fragged gas at the fragged time, unless the plan gets dicked up by control. We are only supposed toboggan at the receivers request and it can be completed from the middle of the block to the bottom of the block 90% of the time. FYSA if we are fat on gas we need to drop flaps to go that slow especially if we are low.
  21. FWIW...last time I was there (around Thanksgiving) the OG was on a witch hunt for dudes using the extenders claiming that they ruined the connection/speed for everyone else and threatening anyone who was using one with paperwork. But from what I hear they work great...
  22. This is the epitome of this thread. WTF!?
  23. Don't lump guard guys in with active duty tanker crews...
