  1. @Jango220: Thanks for the heads up. @100LL: I am opening another Bud Light in .69 seconds. And the tail no was the one that ends in 69Q, if you're interested in trying to check it out sometime, definitely worth the cost. XM is still good too.
  2. My thought process is the same. That's why I didn't exactly understand the statement. If it can land like a rotorcraft, why can't it land @ 9k MSL?
  3. DFRESH replied to a post in a topic in Squadron Bar
Isn't that the guy who tried to hook up under 21 military personnel to be able to drink legally?
  4. Very cool. I flew a 172 with a G-1000 and fully integrated AP the other day, and it shot the entire ILS down to mins @ KJAX (minus power adjustments, which I had to do). Similar idea with the C17's flight director? With the G-1000, you just put the wind vector line on the GPS line, and you're good to go. For xwinds landings, though, you have to figure it out on your own. On a seperate note, and pretty much a redonkulous thread hijack, what are the chances of grabbing a space-a to germany on a chs c-17 (as an ROTC cadet)? My lil sis lives over there so I have a free place to crash after I get blitzed and fool around with some hot german bitches. And I got family in chs too, so I can park my car for the summer. Also, I'm gonna throw in a STS for good measure, considering all the use of the "backside approach" (which happens to be one of my favorite)
  5. Yeah, it was really interesting to read on here that they run their approaches on the back side. I did a few back side approaches in the 172 for super short landings. As for the 17, I'm really curious to hear more (within reason) about its capes and more on the whole back side approaches deal. Does that make precision (ILS,MLS,etc) approaches much more difficult? On a side note, my father was a loadmaster on the Barney, and flying one is kinda my second dream job (right behind any fighter platform, lol)
  6. They're talking about the power curve. On the front side, power =airspeed, and pitch=altitude. On the back side, power=altitude, and pitch=airspeed. Kinda simply speaking though. There's much more to it.... I know there was a site that had some good detail on it somewhere. Basically a power on stall is flirting with the back side of the power curve, and the manuever called "slow flight" is hanging out on the back side of the curve. In the 172 we often would slow flight on really windy days and nearly get a negative ground speed. Slow enough to piss off the glass fo sho. edit for proppa grammaz
  7. I'm confused? Can't land at 9000' what? Maybe I missed something... I don't know anything about the CV-22, but that statement doesn't make any sense. Like it can't land at 9000' MSL due to air/performance issues, worse than the cessna 172? Or like it can't land within 9000' of runway?

    that's how I read it.

    LMFAO
  10. I know, two strikes: 1.) I didn't make it 2.) No tits But it's still funny. Stole the pic, but made the poster. Again, stole the pic, made the poster.
  11. Now I'm just a half-retarded ROTC cadet who is no more knowledgeable of the inner workings of the Air Force than your average 1st grader, but would this be a situation to fix on a very small level what is wrong with the Air Force now? If every time some shoe clerk CMSgt or SMSgt or any lower ranking shoe pulled some shit on a higher ranking officer, and the higher ranking officer stood up to them (still knowing their balls could very well end up in a vice for it) and gave them a quick "I out rank you, obviously I have a reason for the caps, or I wouldn't be f'n wearing them, if you have further questions I would be happy to tell you plenty more about how f'd up the regs are at XYZ base." (or something at all), would we start seeing a change? Is it possible the higher ups are so inundated with BS that some regs honestly make it by without their knowledge of the true effects? (that's just the youngness in me wanting to see good in people) Maybe if more and more officers stood against the flow of BS, we would see changes? Disclaimer (longer than most drug ad disclaimers): Please do not use this as a chance to sling Poo. Yes, I am not commissioned, No, I do not (obviously) have wings. Should I STFU and color? Probably. We have already covered the fact that I'm a retarded ROTC cadet, so please don't bring it back up. This is an honest question, & I'm not trying to call anyone (esp. Bergman) out on anything, but really just trying to figure stuff out. Seriously, I to each of you who do what I dream of, and I'm sure it's just because I haven't done the work necessary to get to your point that I don't understand why you wouldn't be willing to lay it on the line to fix your Air Force. I also understand this is a possible thread hijack, and I'm ready for it to be deleted or moved by the mighty moderator Gods. Again, please don't sling poo, honest answers appreciated.

I want a liter of cola. That's a great movie

@123abc: That vid was awesome. Unfortunately, I'm sure the officer will get in all kinds of PC bullshit trouble for doing what needed to be done.
  14. DFRESH replied to a post in a topic in ROTC & OTS Lounge
I have a funny feeling we will end up having to know all of it anyways.
  15. Holy $hit..... I figured it out.... If you were bangin that, you must have been on some seriously potent shit. Hell, props to you for ingesting that much of whatever drug it was and still living. Of course you get negative points for hooking up with that... But all the points aside, the lights were just part of the tripping. Littering and.... Littering and..... Littering and.... Littering and
  16. As mentioned in another thread, any posting about a chick is required to have pictures for proof.... post them fast!
  17. still holding out for the link to that thread.
  18. Did they install a disco light in the MPF? At least they wouldn't seem so out of place with their belts on. I'm going to Patrick's MPF Monday morning. I will remember not to eat before going in there, so I don't
  19. I miss Dallas (all info contained here is at least 2 years old).... For Mexican food, there is La Hacienda and then there is the best f'n tex-mex I have ever had, but it will cost you a long drive. Take 287 north to Decatur Texas, then take FM51 South for a couple miles... Casa Torres is on the right, looks like somebody's house next to a gas station. please overnight me some of their hot salsa (you have to request it, they only give the mild stuff normally). As for living situations.. what kind of place are you intersted in? Looking to buy or rent? House or apartment?

Last time I checked, there's no space stations between the kitchen and my bedroom..... WTF was she doing working on one?

F'n awesome! I'm watching that right now on slingbox. And the AT-6B looks pretty sweet too. (Of course, anything beats the 172 right now)
  22. Not heard by my self, but repeatedly reported by many others: Erau @ KDAB uses "Riddle" as callsign. Busy day in the area for Riddle a/c and a guy transitioning from Jax calls up "Riddle me this, what the hell is with all the riddles?" not as good as some others on here, but still somewhat amuzing. Another one involves a Riddle and a Papa Echo (from nearby Pheonix East, who has a contract with some certain foreigners that generally answer tech support lines) heard on clearance: "Riddle ### would like to request VFR to the north practice area @ 3k with Charlie/Foxtrot (don't remember the atis)" clearance starts readback and get's stepped on.... garbled, and then when clearence stops xmit "uhhhh also uhhh to the north practeece are-eee-ah, uhhh N6969 PaaaPaaa Acho" Riddle to clearance: "Riddle ### can we change that to the south practice area"

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna buy books next semester or upgrade from the Tilt to the Fuze.... it's a tough choice....

I'm a big fan of HTC products... check them out at https://www.htc.com/us/us_product_operator.aspx I've had three different models of their phones, all have been amazing.
