  1. damn... i wonder if it was a lot easier to be president 100 years ago, or if the reporters wrote down every last facial expression then too for the public to judge, as we now do with video.
  2. only in Plane-o. Sorry, couldn't resist the lame-ass pun. As for story two, woudla been a sweet story if he'd a hit a home run timed just right to bounce off the plane.
  3. HOLY SH!T I can't believe I just read that. Even if we had R&D technology that could kick everyone's asses, if we don't actually have any of it, it's worthless. What you are saying is completely idiotic. If the time ever came that we needed the technology, as could happen, cuz you're right we don't know. If that time came, and we did need to have it, yeah we have the R&D done, but by the time we could purchase the technology in large enough quantities, produce those quantities, and then make those quantities useful, the day and age that we needed that technology to defend ourself would be well past and we'd already have bee F-ed. This is not world war 2. Can't just pump the stuff out by the thousands over night. Seriously dude, consider stopping posting in threads that require some sense of rationality. Edit: After posting, I had to go take a Sh!t and low and behold, out popped and F-22. I guess I was wrong, we can produce them over night. My apologies Caveman.
  4. Ahh... I was looking for a good place to post this story last night (rather than start another thread). I guess this thread will work. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479544,00.html
  5. The whole "Dude" thing keeps crackin me up. My dad (retired Nav) hated it when I would call him "Dude" out of habit since that's what I called everyone, especially in an argument.

    USAA

have you tried various checks? I've only had issues when the check has been oddball (things are in different locations, which I guess they do on some mail-in-rebate checks) or when my crappy handwriting screws up the endorsement on back. I also use an HP 2000 series all-in-one printer/scanner/faxer, and it's always in grey scale for USAA. I just figured thats how USAA wanted it, and they wrote the Java program to do it that way. The other thing I've seen issues with is that some checks have a "void" in the background that comes up when you scan it. This is to prevent people from copying it, but it also screws up the deposit@home. Other than that, talk to USAA. They did the best to help me with my scanning issues.
  7. Dads Side: Though I know of nothing around the Civil War time, if there was any, it was on that side for the Union (Minnesota) as they were part of the gold rush, were informed of a heist, and took a ship all the way around to the Mississippi, up to MN and bought land. The land still has all their graves, with the text in German. I wonder if they spoke English too? Grandpa - Army briefly in the early 60s... my dad was born on base in Germany. Father - Enlisted in AF, immediately applied to ROTC, and then was a Nav in 135's and then switched to guard to fly the 130. Moms Side: Grandpa - Navy, subhunting on a P-3, or maybe that S-2. I dunno what aircraft. Others on both sides served. Me - Born on a SAC AFB, feel at home every time I step on an AFB, and have known that's what I've wanted to do even though my dad switched to part time with the guard shortly after I was born. Just seeing him do the PT flying for the guard was enough inspiration. Still remember playing different video games and thinking to myself "Some day, I want to outrank my father!" haha... Now I'm 1 month from commissioning, ENJJPT select
  8. I'd add another picture to the collection of the obese, but right now I'm having trouble finding some good pics of A_Thomas's mom in google. Some help would be nice!
  9. I'm pretty sure I've seen this on here before, but maybe it was another forums. If it's been here before, it's definitely worth watching again, and relevant.
  10. Woah! Steve Davies, is that your pen name you use in that article? You are a journalist right? ... or is it a stage name you accidentally used? Sorry... I had to.
  11. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1739401.ece ... wtf?
  12. I'm pretty sure you're all just missing the point of this. I got it so she just keeps going back and forth while facing me, flashin them titties.
  13. I know we had some may graduates that were as short as 3-4 months, if not less (pilot and nav), and we have some that will be full 6 months. But going by the fact that there were some that were only a few months, and also going by the fact that all of the may grads should have been EAD'd already by the time I graduate in december (6 months will be november), I'm hoping that my wait time is less than 6 months... Although, if it is 6 months, and I'm still 3 months from graduating, and then maybe another 6-12 months prior to start of UPT, then I won't be done with UPT until almost 3 years from now, and maybe outside that UAV range.... nah, screw it, i'd rather get on with my life and take the chance. But those graduating in may might have a good chance of that. I guess crappy timing is all. I will also say that AFPC may have us wait 6 months still, even if there is less of us, because they probably squeezed all of the may grads in to EAD'ing by 6 months, but that doesn't necessarily mean that AFPC doesn't continue to spread them out by making the wait for IFS and ASBC longer for some of them (as in, they have more casual time first), and then AFPC would hold us from EAD'ing for longer because it would help make our casual time less before we get to our delayed IFS... who knows.
  14. That's what I remember hearing from Col. Kunzweiler or Brig. Gen Flowers on several occasions. It can be a year (it was a year for my dad back in the early 80s) but since it's been increasing from several months lately, they have tried to hold it at 6 months. I'm hoping for less cuz december is less backed up?! or maybe more.... if that lets this UAV policy get through its first phase. But I also want to get out of my Retail job ASAP.
  15. Close enough to the atlanta area that they have all of their sports stuff as Atlanta teams. I would assume that's close enough to drive the car to Atlanta easily to the prospective buyer.
  16. He tried to sell it on Ebay... I searched: "44,799 ORIGINAL MILES" BMW and google gave me the same ebay sale with the exact same wording in the google result: 1998 BMW Z3 Roadster 2.8L 6 Cylinder Engine, Automatic Transmission. One of the nicest Z3's I've ever seen! This Beemer only has 44799 ORIGINAL MILES Note, that the one difference is in the originally posted site, he states "one of the nicest Z3's you've ever seen!" but, I highly doubt the coincidence possibilities that someone else had a Z3 for sale on ebay with the same vin and used virtually the same wording and same milage. Also, 93.9 is an Atlanta area radio station frequencybut I don't think there's a ton of palm trees in Atlanta from my memory. http://www.939thescore.com/Programming/index.html
  17. reason 1 billion and one that ROTC ribbons don't mean sh!t. I got that one by taking 3 minutes to write an email to my AAS candidate class, to tell them that we had an opportunity to give tours at the det to prospective students... and then I couldn't even make it to that event. End of the semester, because cadets decide who gets that ribbon, our whole candidate class got it. anyway, AS700 year... I'll be one of 2 AS7/800s with a job, since it's a carry over job.... oh well. heh, made the decision to stick around for 1 more year of college, then slowly began to despise my campus more and more as time went on. Now I can't wait to get outta here! Other advantages to staying for an AS700 year: More time to impress cadre/get grades up/finess that PT score for categorization. More time to let the UAV hype pass.... which could backfire if UAV demand keeps skyrocketing. An opportunity to milk AF scholarship money and go for masters in 1 year (for some people). One year further from being stationed at Minot. A positive for me is that it gave me one more summer, in which I got a cultural immersion PDT Remember one thing... if you stay the full extra year, stipend cuts out before graduation.
  18. maybe it will scare some of the people from crossing... do you think they know that law... what would your first response be if you were about to cross the border which you knew the american gov't didn't want you to do..... then over the hill rumbles a c-130 with a huge freakin gun out the side.... personally, I might save that trip across the border for another day
  19. a big LOL on that one..... my question though, does this count as an admission from HQ/ACC that being forced into UAVs is a crappy situation.... so crappy that they are using it as punishment? (although the wording of it as a reward did make me chuckle) if so, maybe they won't be far from positive progress toward finding an alternative means for staffing the UAV pilot position becuase they understand the fear of being sent there that is shared among most pilots. At the same time, they really don't help the stigma around the UAVs by making being sent to them a disciplinary action.
  20. btw, I'd just like to state.... if any of y'all do anything similar cuz some scumbag (victim 1) was taking luxuries not belonging to him, and "victim 1" happens to land on my car and break my windshield, don't worry about it.... and drinks on me for a night as soon as you get the chance with the court stuff...
  21. ahh... i've been duped by the pronoun "he"... I see my error in thinking, didn't realize the 2 to start with...
  22. Yeah, that was in there too. And their demonstration of space dog fights briefly mentioned that everything would have to be done by slow orbital mechanics. Relating that with the very minimal I remember from Orbital Mechanics class, my dream of ever flying a Tie Fighter in a fast action dog fight to save the evil empire was defeated...
  23. yeah, that was it. I couldn't exactly explain what was going on by memory. I just remembered it was stuck there and I couldn't explain exactly how they said it happened...
  24. Watch it and they explain. They basically take a specific scenario and then apply their own specific circumstances and make up a mock battle. Then when certain things happen, they assume the response by the other side. For instance, to show how a JSF would supposedly have to respond to not being stealth, they have a missile lock up and not fire, thus making the JSF have a larger radar signature. They really make quite a few things up as they go to show technology they see in the future. A lot of that technology I have either seen discussed in various engineering classes or science magazines. There wasn't a whole lot that they showed which I hadn't heard of else where... like Scramjet. It was interesting to watch though and does feed the side of me that wonders "what's out there that's really cool that I will never see?" edit to fix crappy typing skills.
