  1. Even if open source information is available, one of us saying "yeah that's my jet" essentially confirms the info as valid. The bad guys employ plenty of people to mine and compile open-source data, at least make it hard for them.

  2. An article written by a grad student with a pilot slot.

"Jonathan Miller recently completed an MA Strategic Studies at Aberystwyth Universitys Department of International Politics. Soon embarking on a career in military aviation, his primary interests are airpower strategy, information warfare, air/sea battle doctrine, and the concept of "officership" as a profession."

  3. All locations have shit that people complain about. Charleston has bad traffic and is too humid, it's always raining in Seattle and You never see the sun, England and Alaska are fucking too cold, blah blah blah.. Hell Honolulu has some of the worst schools in the nation/insane traffic and people complain about island fever

I think the majority of the complaints originate from the spouse, particularly the ones who haven't made friends at the husband's new duty station. A wife who spends most of the day alone/with kids while the husband is gone will start hating life no matter the location. That's why the spouses' club is so important for the health of a squadron.
  4. My '14 Ecoboost owners manual recommends 87 octane. I've never put a drop of premium fuel in my truck.

Apparently the direct injection allows for this, even though the turbos are pushing 12psi. The fuel and air aren't mixed until they're in the chamber, so there's less chance of knocking. Pretty sweet.
