The military/govt should be shitting their pants at the threat of drones. I'm not saying anything groundbreaking here or advertising a capability that isn't being used a thousand times a day in the current conflict, but $100k and ten dudes spread out stateside would bring our home station AF to its knees.

The WSJ take on the situation, with the added bonus of a humorous story on the "worst spy ever," Fengyun Shi!
Mystery Drones Swarmed a U.S. Military Base for 17 Days. The Pentagon Is Stumped.U.S. officials don’t know who is behind the drones that have flown unhindered over sensitive national-security sites—or how to stop them

To view the article with pictures, go to the Air Force MWR Libraries website (https://daf.dodmwrlibraries.org/) and log in using your DoD ID number (i.e., EDIPI) and DOB. Once confirmed, under ‘Find a Resource’ search for the Wall Street Journal. Once at that publication’s website, use the URL above.Great resource I didn't know was out there

She's apparently rumored to be on Rogan too. Doubt that will happen as he won't allow edits.

I can think of a couple of reasons.
It should be painfully obvious for any base with high value assets,

Probably Actual Truth: A couple Army pilots thought they might be landing, realized that wasn't going to happen and flew away.
What The Cajun Navy thinks: An unmarked black helicopter with CIA trained door gunners purposely used rotor wash to fuck up a non-governmental supply cache.

Fair point. But there were folks ready to go.
That just leads to point two of mine.
This isn't the first time bureaucrats have put their focus into "establishing and maintaining" control, instead of rolling with the punches and making shit happen. Seems to be more and more common place these days, but that happened at Katrina as well. It's just that the lower levels beat the bureaucrats to the scene.
Standard shit show is what you meant to type 🙂

Rescue crews were enroute Saturday morning.
Katrina was a series of near mid-airs. It was worth the risk, but it's pretty easy to see where a bureaucrat would learn the wrong lesson, and middle managing peons would then take it too far.
In any event, this guy has some gouge from guardsmen on the ground about where some of the rumor is likely coming from.
And those crews arrived Sunday but sat until Thursday waiting on bureaucracy to be cleared.

Copy points 2 & 3 and the robust intercept capability; but for point one are you saying Iran is intentionally missing?
From what I can see on unclass side, it appears nothing was targeted at urban areas except for the mossad headquarters. The airbases got hit pretty hard with one confirmed runway hit but 'apparently' no real damage. They were able to hit some targets back during the Al Assad attack so they are capable but it does seem strange. Hard to tell if incompetent or intentional poor targeting for some. They had to know that they had already poked the bear and regardless of the BDA, they were going to get a substantial strike back with nothing to show for it.
-
Good rollup of the strikes. The airbase video was intense.
-
They struck a bunch of early warning and SAM sites in Syria already, paving way to Iran.

@Lord Ratner Please tell me if you fly with one of those you then say something like, “my apologies Captain dude.” Never have flown with a dude who wants to be addressed as captain, but I don’t doubt they’re out there. Seems to be fleet dependent a lot at DAL, at least from bro rumors.
Capt/FO dude/chick is what you meant to say I'm sure.

The Army figured it out before the Air Force!
Army's Top Enlisted Leader Removed Diversity Consideration for Top Enlisted RolesThe Army's top enlisted leader has removed key guidance that required diversity to be considered when selecting individuals to serve in upper-level noncommissioned officer positions, according to a memo reviewed by Military.com.
Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Weimer, the top enlisted leader of the force, recently issued new guidance on selecting command sergeants major that was essentially copy-and-pasted from his predecessor -- with one exception. It removes a line directing that a command sergeant major candidate's diversity be considered...
(full article at title link)Their recruitment commercials have changed quite a bit too.

I don’t think the B-1s were ever doing SEAD/DEAD in the traditional sense, but if you’ve got 24x 31’s, and you’re going in the MEZ anyway, and a few of them aren’t spoken for, whats a few extra bombs between us friends
