Last Friday night I was so fast it was over in 2 mins. You should have seen how excited she was at how fast I am. I'm dissapointed nobody else had gone for a joke like that...um, I think the fastest I got to was 120 KIAS in my 172.

As a mx officer I think I'm going to start crushing my hat. Sometimes when I get out on line I'll wear ear defenders...and well, even though I'm not wearing a hat, I know they would be crushing my hat so that should allow me to wear my cover like that.

a buddy of mine is now in nav training b/c he was on the sq's flag football team and broke his collar bone. he went for the play winning, diving catch and next thing he knew his collarbone was busted. after several weeks of going back and forth b/w being dnif and getting in the cockpit he washed out...they were threatening to give him the boot completely from the AF...he was lucky to pull a nav slot. the reason was everybody liked him. so if everybody likes you, then go for it and do something stupid and maybe you'll stay in if you get injured. if not...atleast you can say you were medically retired.

I saw some video awhile back of some dudes that made up one of those kidnapper vans or Mr T vans to look like a Hog. It was pretty sweet. They had kegs for the engines and I think one person even strapped himself to the hood or something like that for the cockpit...pretty crazy if you ask me since they were flying (driving) around the desert.

sadly i'm going to have to agree with the dude...it is protected by the 1st amendment. i may not like what they say or do, or even believe in it just like most of you...but you know what guys, that's why uncle sam pays us the big bucks to protect and give the right to protest for these assholes. i decided to check out their website from home rather than at work and was sickened by it. sadly they'll be protesting tomorrow at a funeral in utah for a fallen GI. instead of celebrating this soldiers death, they should be thanking his family for putting his life on the line for freedom and giving them a right that they abuse.

i've got a friend of mine that flies helos as a commissioned officer. he said he wishes he had gone to be a warrant officer b/c his flying career ends basically at capt.

hell yeah! that commercial rocked! watching Top Gun was when i decided i wanted to fly too. i used to want to fly the -14 then i realized i'd have to be in the Navy.

anybody know how to go about being a bush pilot in alaska or a pilot that takes people on tours in hawaii? i'm thinking those jobs would kick a$$.

16...for college it's a personal choice. if you want the academy lifestyle then go there. if you want the real college lifestyle, go to normal school. what really sucks is having your cake and eating it too (VMI). you get the miserable experience for 4 years, but you still get the rotc route...which wait a minute, sucks compared to having the academy where you're guarenteed a slot if you can breathe. oh well, i did 4 years at the "I" and am a lot better for it. if you're not sure what you want, go to a normal college. because...why would you want this ? when you can have this everyday

I wouldn't wear a black suit...it's not a funeral. Do you have a dark blue or anything? I'd go for white personally.

This thread started out great then went on to just *****ing back and forth and seems to have finally gotten back to excelling at UPT. You guys have wings on your chest and fly. I fly a desk and would give my left nut to have a shot at UPT. I'm applying this year, hopefully things work out. Do I care what I fly? No. I just want to fly b/c that's the only thing I've ever wanted to do...you guys should probably be thankful that you are flying and get that luxury. For those that actually gave good hints/explanations on doing well at UPT, thanks, hopefully I'll get the chance to use them.
