I agree

Arent Ukrainian Males in forced conscription? So yeah they kinda are forced to fight. The war goes back to 2014 with the Maiden uprising. Losing the pro Russia govt is what pushed Putin. The question is how involved was the US in those uprisings? State Dept was there. Not saying this is just cause for Putin but an expansion eastward of Western influence put him in a defensive position. A question to ask is if/when western support dries up in Ukraine and Russia eventually wins...will that loss of life be worth it for Ukraine? Did we just help delay the inevitable and cause more death and destruction for a goal of making Putin's military weaker. I dont think Putin is stupid. I think a lot of things going on now are all related.

You currently have: Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Gaza, Armenia, and Serbia massing on the Kosovo border. one side is western influenced the other is in the Russia sphere along with Iran…fun times!

From what I understand on the Palestinians is that nobody wants them...Egypt, Jordan, Syria etc....They are all happy to keep then where they are and finance them to be assholes with Israel. I read the original idea of Gaza was to make it a mid east version of Singapore. Small micro country with the best coastal tourist spots and be a vibrant micro nation....They apparently weren't interested in that and somewhere along the line became more interested in the destruction of Israel. I do believe Russia is involved with this to make a distraction from Ukraine. An interesting play for the US would be to salvage Israel/Saudi relations...Sell arms to Saudi and turn a blind eye to what they do in Yeman vs the Iranian backed rebels. I do find the pro Palestinian demonstration across the world very disturbing. Even if you dont like the Israeli state....celebrating this is pretty disgusting.

Thalib has a Palestine flag outside here office now. Looked up some info on the Gaza. Im not as up to speed on geo politics as I use to be. >40% unemployment, avg age is something like mid 20's, under a blockade since 07 from Israel. That gives a lot of military age males with nothing better to do than be assholes. That said....it seems Iran and others are fully willing to help them with weapons and that's about it. Seems like they are pawns to test the Israelis in the Arab world. Also read that Russia supplied Hamas with weapons. Whats the over under Russia steps up their game in Ukraine now that there is a distraction in the media?

Persian gulf….highway of death…..destroying a retreating army. Have we gone to that level since?

I’m not sure anyone thinks they’re winning. At best they’re surviving. I think the 60mins story said something that their professional military is basically gone at this point. Relying on volunteers, militia, foreigners. Failed to mention conscripts.

Zelenskyy was on 60 mins tonight. They said the front averages 40k artillery rounds a day. That’s insane!

I think some are against supporting UK because without US support Russia rolls over them. We are simply delaying the inevitable and causing more damage/death in the process. There are some that say its partly our fault for expanding NATO east and being involved in the 14 elections. I know a lot that want all that money being spent on UK, spent in the US. But that's not a reality. I dont know the right answer, I see the benefit of weakening Russias military in the process. But I also dont think this ends in Ukraine. I cant see Putin packing up and heading home or just settling for the east. There had been fighting there since 14 anyway so I dont think that changes anything.

I mean did he really think he'd stick around after his coup? Surprised it took this long.

Plane crash north of Moscow. Prigozhin was on the passenger list.

I'll add my .02 from my career in Oil and Gas with a lot of former military colleagues. Like all things there are good and bad. I wouldn't say the military experience I have seen is an auto step above anyone else. Some are really good others are not. Im on the sales side of our business and we have maybe 40% sales guys with military experience. The main issue I see is they need to be told what to do and exactly how to do it. I dont see a lot of thinking outside the box with new and innovative ideas to create new business. But if there are procedures to follow, they are great at it. In the O n G industry, an ex enlisted guy with a GED can make great money, however I think that time is mostly coming to an end with energy policies. As far as recommending someone to join: I did and the startup I work for was big on military guys so it worked for me. Where we are now 10 yrs later, we want industry experience, preferably from a competitor we can train. Military experience may or may not be a bonus. I dont want my kids to join. Not after the way GWOT was handled. I feel like it was Vietnam 2.0. Nothing was learned. My best friend from highschool quit college on 9/15 became SF in the ARMY. I dont know how many deployments he did and how many buddies he lost. He was awarded the purple heart and just retired after 20+ yrs. All that time away from his family and the dude is not the same and for what? I did try to get my brother in law to join hte AF as a load or boom for obvious reasons (Travel, college, experience). His family doesn't have much and he was limited on options. Well he didn't and joined the Army after too many years in college figuring out his path. He's an 01, but he could be a civi now had he listened with 0 dept. Lots of guys that were in their 20's 10 yrs ago now have kids. Willing to bet not many will push for a career in the military. It will be a long problem.

Isn’t this how “by dawns early light” started?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/us-intelligence-pro-ukraine-group-nord-stream-pipeline-attacks-report.amp so it wasnt the russians

Let's also be honest. Not a single cent that has gone to Ukraine would have been used in any meaningful way to make the US better. Infrastructure desperately needs updating. Our education sucks. Health care?
-
Isn't he also like 25? So you would think he's more mature going into hte NFL. PPL thought Vince Young was a sure bet and all teams passed over Tom Brady through 5 rounds. So its a crap shoot.

Interesting topic but yeah China on US soil would be an interesting strategy plan for logistics. Secure Costcos for resupply? Not sure how they could resupply food/equipment across the Pacific. The US at least has Korea and Japan to work from.

Oz wasnt a great candidate though. Hes not from PA or lives in PA and a Trump candidate I believe. That said...I really dont know what the appeal of Fetterman was. He has lived off his parents his whole life, never had a real job. Was mayor of a dump and still a dump, hes basically pro 2nd degree murder, hes huge on Teachers unions but sends his kids to the most $$$ private school in Pittsburgh. Throw in the stroke and its really mind boggling he won. When I saw that race still close I knew the red wave was just a myth.

Was that just for Denver? I know for fact you can get liquor in King Soopers in Arvada. Dont miss CO and it's politics.

I work in the pigging industry on the inspection side. I'll add my.02. Never thought of a pig as a delivery vehicle for a bomb but it could happen. However, I believe the line was idle and not making deliveries? The pig would have to travel with the pressure of the gas flow. So Germany would need to be taking deliveries. If the line was idle they couldnt push the pig since the displaced gas had no where to go. I found this site when I was trying to be an AF pilot. Now I am posting on my post military career. Baseops has now become full circle.

interesting. It looked like tanker cars which most likely would have fuel and had they known the train schedule and timed it that well....that is some good intel.
-
Also looks like they timed it where a train was on that portion of the bridge.
