Looks like all of ACC is involved now: From my SQ/CC "I learned yesterday that COMACC is directing long sleeve shirts for blues starting 1 December. What this means to you—on Mondays when you are wearing your blues after 1 Dec, you need to be wearing a long sleeve shirt and tie. Ties are not optional on the long sleeve shirt, so make sure you big neck folks can button the top button and strap on a tie. Buy now before the uniform store runs out."

I know the feeling with women...I went through an ex-fiance and an ex-wife before I found the right one. I appreciate all of the good words, we love the HD but have found a great deal at the Honda shop. '06 VTX 1800 N (still new) for $9k and an '07 Shadow Aero for $6300. I'm trying to figure out if we start there or start with the HD. I'm torn between love and money, typical! I've got a bud that just started at Rucker, big tall goofy ol'BUFF guy. To supplement Gen Schwartz' mandate regarding the Monday wear of the blue uniform, I want to emphasize the importance of implementing our Chief's guidance with minimal exceptions and as much uniformity as possible. 2. Effective immediately, ACC military personnel will wear the blue uniform every Monday as the uniform of the day (UOD) unless their specific duty on Monday requires a utility uniform. Entire organizations are not exempt from this policy. For example, aircrew scheduled or expected to fly (aircraft/simulator), crew chiefs, and HVAC technicians would wear a utility uniform on Mondays due to mission or safety requirements. Conversely, aircrew not scheduled or expected to fly, members of the Maintenance Operations Center, and CE operations managers are expected to wear a blue uniform. Similarly, CONUS operations centers, even those supporting forward operations, are expected to make every reasonable effort to comply with this policy. These examples are not all-encompassing, but should guide any exemption discussions. 3. All combinations of the blue uniform are authorized in accordance with AFI 36-2903, Dress and Personal Appearance of Air Force Personnel. Installation/wing commanders (or DS for MAJCOM/NAF staffs) determine which combination (long-sleeve or short-sleeve) is appropriate, however all personnel wearing a blue uniform will be "uniform" (wear the same combination on a given Monday.) Flight suits, ABUs, and BDUs remain the authorized UOD for duty days other than Monday. 4. Redneck and others, My wife just proved to me that she is in fact the most perfect woman in the world. Not only does she love firearms, but she just entertained the option for "us" to get a couple of motorcycles. Now here's the questions: 1) How's the Nightrod treating you? I am looking at the '09 Musclerod and am a little worried about the ride/comfort. I'm also a new rider and wonder if it'll be too much to learn on. 2) Does your ol'lady ride? If so what does she ride. We looked at the HD Fat Bob and the Sportster 1200 Custom, she liked the feel of the custom the best. 3) We love HD, but love the $ of other similar bikes. Does anyone recommend anything else like the Suzuki Boulevard Series? 4) Is the HD maintenance track record rumor true that they will be in the shop the most vs. others? I think that's it for now. We are taking our time trying to make the right choice. This will probably turn into a "congrats on her finishing school and me finishing UPT" gift in a little over a year. I am stoked though!

All 6 flew Saturday and Sunday at Little Rock two weekends ago. Isn't the air show season almost over? Hope she was hot and worth it!

I was out in San Angelo, TX working an internship my first semster of my senior year of college. Typically I would be in a deer blind every morning before sun up, but me and a co-worker had pushed it up a bit the night before and decided to skip the morning scouting. Chance had it I woke up just as the news started covering the first impact. I was glued to the set wondering how the hell could someone have made this mistake then right before my eyes I saw the second aircraft hit. I fell to my knees instantly knowing that this was an intentional attack. My acceptance into the AF couldn't come soon enough for me after that. Truly a day that will never be forgotten.

We did have a guy here sport the Cardigan...it was aweful. We also had a few guys sport the wheelcap, they actually looked sharp. No one with full ribbons or bloused pants and boots. All in all it was pretty benign. It was weird sitting at lunch at the golf course and seeing everyone in their blues.

AF Command Insignia is mandatory. 22 AFI36-2903 2 AUGUST 2006 5. Officers place shoulder mark insignia as close as possible to shoulder seam. Enlisted personnel center 3 1/2 inch sleeve chevrons halfway between shoulder seam and bottom edge of sleeve. Senior noncommissioned officers may wear shoulder mark insignia (as close to as possible shoulder seam) or chevrons. 6. Necktie is optional. Center optional tie tack or tie clasp (Air Force symbol, grade insignia, or wing and star) between bottom edge of knot and bottom tip of tie. Tip of tie must cover a portion of the belt buckle but cannot extend below the bottom of belt buckle. 7. Individuals, at their discretion, may sew down pockets but no local policy will be established to make it mandatory.

What is the "right" thing to do here? I know initially I thought it'd be funny to wear the ribbons, wheelcap, cardigan....and the list goes on. The more I think about it the more I think it's a bad idea. I know that all of those items are legit per the regs, but the only reason to wear them would be to make a mockery of the uniform, a uniform that we should be proud to wear. It has been pretty nice to wear the bag everyday for the past 5 years of my life but, like others have stated, it's not our only uniform. Sure it might suck a little to have to get your blues squared away, and it is a higher maintenance uniform than what we are used to, but dammit we are Officers and we should act like it. Why do we want to make our service look like shit? Why is that funny? The more I think about it the more childish it is! I don't know why this is the first thing that Gen Schwartz has put on our plates, but it is and who are we to doubt. We know nothing of how he will run things. First impressions are huge and I know that to many of you his was a bad one. We'll see, but there is still a task at hand and for us to run around like a bunch of spoiled assed kids doesn't help our cause one bit. Here's a thought...why don't we get our uniform squared away to a point that it impresses? Why not look like a proud damn member of the US Air Force? Those of us who have to wear our blues this Monday should feel proud that we are a part of the best damn Air Force in the world. If you don't feel that then get the ###### out at your first opportunity because I sure as hell don't want you here. If you want to show up Monday looking like an AF blue clown that's your prerogative. I just ask you think a bit about the example that you are setting to your leadership and more importantly your subordinates. It's just a uniform guys, wear it proud and move on!

I've got an 870 and it is great. I have put it through hell and it has never failed me. I don't know much about the home/tactical shotguns but if they are as reliable as my 870 you can't go wrong.

I want to thank everyone for adding there stories and memories of the crew. If there are anymore out there please don't hesitate to add them. We are working on a memorial here for them and the families have asked for us to be able to share many of these stories with them. Thank you all again!

Here is the Raider 21 crew list. Of those that I have not spoken about: Maj Brent "B-dub" Williams, I didn't know him very well but I can say that he was squared away. He showed up to the 96th just prior to them deploying and took over as the interim CC. He lead a tight ship but made sure that life was fun. He will be truly missed. Capt. Mike "Bull" Dodson, I don't even know where to begin. This guy was solid, he started his career as a C-130 nav out of Pope and then found his way here to the BUFF. Probably one of the best Co-pilots I have ever flown with. He had his shit squared away and was always striving to do more and to do it better. I can't say enough for how much I appreciate the knowledge and the influence he had on me, he pushed me to go for my dreams and then helped me to achieve them. There's not many better that I have ever shared a beer with and he was always the first to buy and the last to quit. A true hero in my book and one of Americas finest patriots. Lt. Josh "Shaman" Shepherd, one of my favorites. As a new guy to the squadron he couldn't wait to get started, he was passionate about his job and even more passionate to solidify the friendship of his new family. In the jet he shined as a nav and it wasn't long before he found his way in to the scheduling shop. His desk was the first as you walk in the door and he always greeted you with a smile. His optimism, work ethic, and unwilingness to do the job half assed held this shop of "old" dudes together. He was the guy you could always count on no matter the task. I know that sounds cliche, but that is no shit how he was, no sacrifice was to much for him. The hardest part is knowing that he has a newborn that will never really know him and a 5 year old that will miss him for the rest of his life. There is so much more that I could say about these fine patriots and maybe one day I will. A huge part of my family has been taken and can never be replaced. I do pray that one day we meet again and that there will be a cold one waiting. Life will and must go on with out you all but I assure you that you will not be forgotten.

Fireball and Gerren are both great dudes. I have flown with both and they loved their job. As stated earlier Fireball never said an ill word towards anyone. It pains me to know that he is no longer with us but I am sure he is in a much better place. Gerren was an FNG in my squadron and was well on his way to making a great name for himself. He was quiet but attentive and always willing to helpout. I never once heard him complain about any of the "new guy" duties that are expected of them. He was extremely knowledgeable about his job and never content with knowing enough, he always wanted to know more. I pray that he is safe and will be found soon along with my other bros. Godspeed my brothers and may you all find peace soon! I also ask all of you to please pray for the crewdogs there on Guam. It is tough for reality to set in back here at KBAD, but it is all to real for those out there now. There is still a mission at hand that must be executed to perfection, I know the Buccaneers are strong and capable I just pray that you all find peace with life. I wish I were there with you, it is tough being seperated from your family in such a trying time.

Rest in peace my brothers! You will be missed.

The Springfield is a great weapon like M2 said, I would also recommend a Kimber 1911. http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/ I am not as good at posting pictures or links so bear with my lack of computer skills. I don't yet own a Kimber, but plan on that being my gift to myself once I get through UPT. I have shot many, though, and they are pretty amazing!
