  1. Ale...if I remember correctly they will ask you in basic training if anyone wants to try out for Pararescue...(of course that was many years ago). Good luck.
  2. I'm pretty sure the B-1 doesn't have Air to Air Radar, so unless they have TCAS or WX radar with skin paint capability the only way they are going to see you is with the Mark 1 eyeball. Any Bone guys want to enlighten us on this? You'd be amazed at how unsophisticated military aircraft are.
  3. I concur with the gentleman from Vance...all in favor? AYE!!
  4. Damn straight...I may only be enlisted but those damn TI's in basic training treated me the same way! How dare they treat me as an inferior recruit...I worked my ass off to get down to Lackland for 6 weeks. All that yelling and putting that brim of the hat in my face!! That's just demeaning to me as a person. And all those SGT's and A1C's walking around the base yelling at me to march right...just cuz they got a year or two in more than I did...who do they think they are??? Just the Man trying to keep me down! Oh...and if you're not correcting Amn Snuffy on the spot for not saluting or disrespectful behavior, you are in the wrong.

    Gun Talk

Quick question for you guys that do carry concealed...what type of holster setup do you use? My wife and I are both going to go to the concealed carry course here in AR so I'm wondering what you guys have found that works for you.
  6. I'm pretty sure that there was a -135 Nav position at Kadena when I left there in '05
  7. From MSNBC Website... Our prayers go out to the family.
  8. What's a Team Sortie? Just curious...
  9. From open sources on the internet.... I don't think that TheInner's post was getting into beeps and squeaks....suggest you "hold switches"...
  10. Well, if we are bringing back bases....Bergstrom AFB, TX.....Austin in the summer is ca-rrraaazeeee.

    Call Signs

AWACS do official naming ceremonies mostly for the backenders (no STS)... flight deck guys at my old squadron tried to protest the 'ness by boycotting but were forced to go...so we sent minimal people to represent. As Hydro said, not everyone does them, I think it's mostly a pointy nose thing...as it should be (they do alot of things I don't understand or care to). It just got tiring to watch the backenders try and pretend we were a fighter squadron.
  12. Yup, point missed. Sorry bout that. I wouldn't say that it isn't allowed, just that I don't want the hassle from some of the senior NCO's about dipping in the office.
  13. Half my office dips....mostly O's!
  14. I do remember this and it was alot better having cash in hand and not having to worry about whether or not you could use your GTC someplace. Of course there is a down side to this, as I found out on my first TDY to Vegas. We drove there from Mt. Home and some of the guys lost all their per diem at the first town we hit in Nevada. ...I'd like to see them bring back smoking/dipping in the office, and Chief's that bring a keg to work on a Friday night for the troops.
  15. ...to add to Hydro's post, when you PCS overseas you should get two shipments. Unaccompanied baggage and your household goods. Unnaccompanied I think runs around 300-500lbs allowable (may depend on rank/destination) and is supposed to arrive within 30 days. This is typically things you will need quickly upon arriving at your new duty station...ie, kitchen stuff, sheets, blankets ect. You can ship your pro-gear with unaccompanied and it won't count against your weight allowance. And you can get creative on what counts as pro-gear. Two trips to Kadena and my unaccompanied has always arrived within 2 weeks.
  16. I've often been told that the Sin Stocks are a great investment....alcohol, tobacco and porn...they are always rising.
  17. In today's AF I wouldn't risk having a beer at lunch...or any other time where I have to drive on base. Sky cops are just itching to bust someone for drinking and driving. Bastards!!
  18. I know he's not on the boards but I just flew a fini flight for one of our loadmasters who had 13,000 hours total with 6500 of them in the Herk.
  19. 1. Green fatigues...tuck or untucked and you could make short sleeves out of them. 2. The F-111 3. The COLD WAR!!
  20. 2....I think we beat this dead horse enough.
  21. The 67th out at Kadena uses the "COCK" callsign. When the 12th was there, they used "Dirty"...as in The Dirty Dozen. The 44th I think used "BAT" as they were the Vampires. Collectively the Wing was known as a bunch of Dirty CockSuckers.
  22. Bendy, did they move you up to the OSS or something? Oh, OCF and FCF comes out of Flying Hours money. [ 01. February 2007, 07:04: Message edited by: Mambo ]
  23. They sure don't. So if you puke from the back and get it all over the HUD...that's gonna be one pissed off pilot!
  24. dayswhore...did you actually test for TSGT? Making E-6 in the AF is one of the most difficult ranks to make. Back in the day (late 80's, early 90's) even SSGT was pretty hard. Now they are handing out E-5 with 4 or 5 years TIS. But the E-6 cut-offs remain high for most AFSC's. I blame McPeak for all this, when he gutted the mid-level NCO corp back in the early 90's. The effects of this are still being felt within the NCO ranks. That is one of the most ignorant statements I've seen yet. M2...I remember the SGT rank well. I missed being a SGT by one day before they got rid of that rank. Same pay as a SrA with more responsibility/accountablity...no thanks.
  25. 648 is the AM station out of Kadena. Used to listen to that down in the Whiskey areas to the south.
